Wyrn lightly slapped his open palm on the table as he stood "I must be going. Where do we meet to sail, and when?" He asked Avery, looking from her to Tressa and back. It was getting late, and he was sufficiently drunk enough to go to sleep. It was getting cold out, some sleet beginning to fall outside.

Avery rubbed her forehead, "I'm afraid Captain Rous neglected to inform us of when we were setting sail again. He set off pretty quick when we landed, I think headed towards the mountains. It will probably be within the next day or two. Is there anywhere I can contact you in case it changes. I'm terribly sorry I don't know the exact answer." she told him regretfully. She also prayed that nobody else would ask that question.

OoC//nnHey guys, sorry I haven't posted lately, but life has been very hectic for me! But, have no fear, it will be calming down soon enough, and I will be posting at NORMAL times, instead of stupid early in the morning.nnThanks for sticking with me, you guys make this rp!

Jack had since joined her fellow shipmates sitting not to far away, just out of the way of the current recruits signing up for the current round. Enjoying a pint she listened intently, fascinated with the stories the rather large man had to share. Her eyes went wide listening more closely hearing there was more to their captain than was previously shared. “That seems to lead to so many more connections that makes so much more sense about things” She nodded “Sorry that might not have been that coherent of a sentence or thought” Jack said realizing she still tends to talk in circles. After a while losing the track of what time it was, she was a bit saddened to hear he was going to leave. “I’m looking forward to the time we meet again and learn more of your stories, they truly are amazing sir” She smiled hoping to catch him before he left.

“Guess I might as well see you lovely ladies later as well’ She smiled getting up. Jack didn’t exactly want to go back to the ship just yet, but she hadn’t seen much else to do that wouldn’t get her in trouble. So in turn she went to sit on the dock, choosing a wide log post to sit on. Crossing her legs under her facing out over the water as it calmly danced with the few artificial and natural light that made it out that far. She pulled her knife from the holster on her leg, carefully holding it and mindlessly twirling it in her hand, just in case of looming jerks wanting to ‘take advantage’ of her. She liked to show them otherwise.

As the sun began to fall and the men exited the pub, Matthew got up himself. He quietly left the bar and snaked through the crowd until he pushed the door open. He was met by the man he saved, Garret, who had managed to buy himself better clothes than the rags he was wearing, along with two iron knives. Matthew immediately crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes at Garret.

"Looking better with the money I gave you, I see." Matthew said, not surprised to find the former beggar in front of him.

"I've decided to travel with you. Not much in the slums as far as information, in case you wanted to know. There's also nowhere for me to safely stay as well." Garret said, keeping to his role as Matthew's eyes and ears in the criminal underground and amongst the beggars.

"If you're sure, then you need to ask the two women in there. If there's any trouble, say that I can vouch for you." Matthew said, already walking away from him and the pub, heading for the ship. As soon as he wasn't within ear-shot, Beelze appeared next to him.

"I see you're doing well recruiting allies and such." The demon prince said to him, walking in his shadow.

"As long as I can get as much useful information as possible. I plan on gaining a bit of more power to bring help to the beggars of the streets." Matthew said nonchalantly.

"Oh? And what's the reason for this?" Beelze said quizzically.

"I don't want any kids to live alone like I did. At least have them be safe." Matthew said, recalling the memories of his child and teenhood. He wouldn't ever want that for any street orphan.

Meanwhile, Garret walked through the door of the pub, walking up to the two women at the recruitment table. He tried not to look as much of a bum as he used to be. He cleared his throat before speaking.

"May I join your crew?" He said, immediately getting to the question.

Avery's eyebrows raised, "No offense, but you don't look like much of a sailor. What are your qualifications?" she asked him. He didn't seem like a bad person, but she was worried that he wouldn't last long on their travels. She noted the knives and wondered how skilled he was using them, or if they were just for decoration.

Tressa slipped from Avery's side as Jack left. "Hey, uh...I don't know if you were planning on going back to the ship or not, but I was wondering if you could...teach me how to use a knife? I don't know much about it outside of the kitchen and I'd like to not be so pathetically defenseless."

Avery paused to listen to Tressa's request. "I can try to. I'm not much of a teacher but I think I can manage the basics, or as far as my skills go." She responded, before continuing to leave the bar and back outside into open air. "First thing though is I think I'm going to get lost if I don't follow you back to the ship." she added with a slight smile. The day was winding down and the cool air felt wonderful. She wouldn't mind staying out a bit longer, but she didn't care to get in a fight in a new town either.

"Oh, it's not too far from here," she said, walking alongside Jack with a smile on her face. "See, the docks are that way, right? We're just seven moors down. I suppose I'll have to get a knife first, hm? And I suppose that it wouldn't do for me to try and use a kitchen knife for fighting." She brushed away the loose hairs that had fallen out of the braid winding around the top of her head.

Again Avery twitch-smiled, "It wouldn't be a bad idea to get a good blade. In emergencies though a kitchen blade can be just as dangerous. For basics I was planning on using sticks or something less dangerous to start off with though." She told Tressa as she followed her through the town's maze of streets. The other woman's words vaguely made sense, and she tried to keep them in mind as they walked.

Jack looked back over her shoulder from her focused spot on the water. A small smile played and pulled at her lips listening to the other girls request. “I’m far from ready to turn in, I was just going to sit here until the desirer to sleep pulled me aboard.” She nodded carefully turning full body to face her. “I’m not sure how good I am as a teacher, but I can do my best” Jack grinned. Her eyes trailed off for a moment hearing a voice in the distance, Matthew, though she didn’t know that. Shaking her head a tiny bit she looked back up to Tressa’s face. “I think if I can teach you to throw, kitchen knives will do just fine in a good defense.” Her eyes lit up a bit just speaking of the very act.

"Would you, please?" said Tressa, her own eyes brightening at the prospect. "It's fine if you're not a very good teacher...I just dont' want to be so useless. Well, not that cooking is a useless skill but...it looks like fighting might be a pretty big part of our escapades so...I don't have any knives on me," she finished.

Garret pondered his skills that might be useful. His survivability, working skills, and knowledge with a knife were almost all that came up. After no less than forty five seconds he began to speak. "I've survived in the slums for nearly ten years, so my ability to survive surpasses most in this town. I'm also a bit of a Jack-of-All-Trades considering I've taken any job available to gain enough money to survive, and I've been a few skirmishes with a knife before, so I can handle my own." He stretched it, as a shiv would be the more... appropriate for the weapons he's used before.

"Also Master Matthew can vouch for me as well." He said, remembering what the young Gunnery Sergeant said.

Matthew made his way back to the ship, Beelze disappearing before he got on board, heading for his room. Once he gets there he simply plops down on his cot in a sitting position, unsheathing his father's blade. He studied the Sabre, each design on the bronze guard and the base of the steel blade. It was decorated with images of the sea and horns. Garret felt his own horns, reminding himself what he was.

(Is there room for another privateer to join the fray? :) Her name would be Rose, and she would have inherited the ship from her husband, who died at sea under suspicious circumstances. If you have the room, I'll flesh her out some more.)

((Y'all, I just moved and have very limited internet, so I probably won't be back online for a little bit. No idea what Rous is doing, so for now let's just keep going until he shows up again.))
