- I've definitely pulled that routine before! "Just a few more pages", or "I'll just get to the end of this chapter"... Hours later, you've finished the book and you have to get ready for work in two hours!

yep, those phrases have been repeated endlessly in my head! What types of genres do you like? I'm mostly science fiction with a smattering of mystery, horror, fantasy and thriller/adventure.

- I think I'm mostly in the fantasy genre, though I probably would like science fiction too seeing as I love television and movie science fiction. Sounds like you and I have similar tastes!
Nutela
Sounds like it. Its funny though because I love fantasy, but don't read it much. Mostly I play it (computer games and table top RPGs) and watch it. With science fiction, its the reverse. I mean I do watch the movies, but they often disappoint, I prefer reading it.

- My husband is picky with the science fiction movies. If there's too much fiction and not enough science to explain or back up what's happening, he's out. A friend of mine suggested that I read the series that "Dexter" is based off of, since I like the TV show. That's a deviation from my usual books. And I love series! If a book is part of a series, I'm much more likely to read it than a stand-alone book.
Salad (what I'm having for dinner... Yay diets?)
oh yeah! I'm no PhD or anything, but crap science just pushes me out of the movie/show. If my "willing suspension of disbelief" gets yanked on too much, it ceases to be fun. I find that I generally like books which are part of a "universe" rather than strictly a series. For example, Anne McCraffrey's pern books which contain both series and stand-alones.

- I could probably get in to books that are part of a universe. I'm try to do better with eating. A salad at least every other day, which I need to bump up to every day. I need to cut down on the cheese. High cholesterol plus 20-30 pounds overweight equals no fun :(

Sorry to hear that. I'm lucky cholesterol wise, I love both eggs and cheese and have a diet rich in both. My doc keeps thinking he has me on Statins because my cholesterol numbers are so low. For me the single biggest impact food has had on my numbers was the short period of time I quit eating tuna. My numbers jumped up to the normal range. But don't give up the cheese just yet. The latest research is showing that cheese, even very high-fat cheese either doesn't affect, or even contributes to lowering cholesterol. Of course the biggest issue with food research is that what works for one person, doesn't work for everyone.

- I know that I do need to cut down on cheese. When it's present at every single meal, you know you have a problem... Part of my issue too is I tend to drink a lot of my calories instead of drinking water. Trying to change that ASAP, as I can tell I'm dehydrated severely. My eye keeps twitching!

Not even sure what Georgie's food is, but I'll add MUSTARD.
Sorghum is a grain crop -- not widely seen in the US, but important in other parts of the world because it's more resistant to heat and drought than other grain crops.

changing habits is tough. My boyfriend loves cheese, I think it was the hardest thing he had to give up when he became lactose intolerant.

Why do we keep getting things that end in "Y"?! There are only so many foods that start with Y! I may have to resort to Subeta foods eventually!
Yellow Bell Pepper
Y E R and S are all so common. There are a fair bit for both R and S, but still, with so many you still start running into dupes pretty quickly, never mind y and e.
