Oh really? Well, all of your pets profiles look gorgeous at any rate, so there's nothing to worry about there :)
Aw, thank you very much, I appreciate it. I'm particularly fond of Edwina's concept, so I look forward to finishing it off, hopefully it'll turn out nicely. I adore drawing, so I'm pretty insistent when it comes to creating all the profile art and overlays for my pets, myself. I get a real kick out of creating things for myself...it's probably why I still insist on trying to code my own profiles, rather than commission someone more capable to do it.
Absolutely, I'll be sure to try out some new coding as I make 'em (although I'm pleased to hear that you also center your profiles around background image, as well.)
Thanks. :) Profiles are the one bit I can do without too many problems. x)
It's great that you can draw all the stuff for your pets yourself. I'm jealous. But I totally understand you wanting to do it all yourself. It's a nice feeling knowing that you did as much as you could yourself. ^^
Hehe, yeah. While you can do a lot with coding (and I really mean a LOT) there's just some stuff that's a lot easier to do in a program like photoshop.
And for that, I am truly envious! Creating/ coding the profiles for my pets (or, y'know, trying to) is always the part that causes me the most hold up and headache XD
Absolutely, Photoshop is my go to program for all my drawings, overlays, backgrounds etc.
Side note - I really do need to figure out what I'm going to do with Mulberry...I'm thinking some sort of Sweetheart pet. Also, I need to increase Edwina's TC and start throwing some more items in there - perhaps some nice scraps of fabric.
It's all a matter of practice. ;) And you'll learn quick enough what can be done to the different parts of the pet profiles. And until then there's always google.
Well it's the perfect timing for thinking about sweetheart pets. There's sure to be some new released once survival comes around.
Fabrics, thread and yarn, needles and all that sort of stuff would definitely fit Edwina very well.
Oh yeah, always gotta have my six tabs of coding tutorials open at all times. XD
Of course! I had almost forgotten about that, truth be told, I have always wanted a Sweetheart pet, I just haven't had a good pet for one just yet. Yep, that's the idea. I hadn't thought of adding in yarn though, so I'll definitely start collecting them. The very vague idea I have for Edwina is a living toy who travels around secretly repairing the broken toys, clothes and accessories of those she encounters.
EDIT: (Annnnnnnnnd there goes all the sp I earned questing on thread and fabric :P)
Lol, that's a lot of tutorials. But that's the way to do it. :)
Well it's the perfect time to consider one... And somehow now I have images of some adorable sweetheart squirrel running around gathering berries on my mind. x)
Gosh that's such a sweet idea. Edwina becomes more adorable by the minute. Haha, at least it goes to a good cause. How is she going to fix all those broken toys without equipment.

And I got my Loyalty Box yesterday (which I had managed to forget about again). Going to stash it for a while, since I want a pet slot but still don't actually need one.
My yesterday was so productive? I finally renamed my oldest pet. Redesigned her character, started working on her TC AND started a draft for her description although I'm not quite sure what parts of her story I actually want to include.
IF anyone happens to have any cool TC ideas for a dwarf that would be great, I've been wondering if there are any more 'runic' type items out there?
I also quite radically expanded Dalish's TC and now it's getting out of hand and I'm almost 70mil poorer than before they released the new TC slot system lmao.
To counter all that productivity I kind of managed to erase almost everything from Privilege's profile and it's now just a temporary husk / placeholder until I finally write his story and sraw art and get him a proper profile.
Good morning ❤️ How's the day going so far?
I'm finally done with moving! o/ Although bruised and sore, and managed to mess up my wrist trying to carry something entirely too heavy for a wimp like me.
Poirot's TC is looking magnificent! There's so much stuff, and you're making me all curious about actually reading the books now. Or at least watching that tv show but there's like 13 seasons of it...
I've been thinking of buying another slot as well, waiting a year for a new pet is awfully slow but the slots are so expensive. ;; I just emptied my vault of potential TC items where they've been gathering dust because I haven't bothered putting them in proper categories and put everything in the 'possible TC fodder' gallery and ended up with three pages of stuff. I really like the tropical theme you've got going on in the gallery, is it for one particular pet or various ones?
Wow, your plans sound really extensive and intriguing :O I don't think I've ever heard of anyone approaching pet/character building from this angle, it gives so much opportunities to explore the character. I'm definitely curious to know more about her.
It sounds like a lot of work, but you seem to have all your plans well thought out, which is super good!
wow this post got long
Oh that's a lot of progress for just one day. ^^
Day has been good, though completely unproductive, so far.
Great that you're done moving, but really you should be more careful. But at least you can rest up now that you're done.
Thanks. :) Yeah there's a whole lot of stuff, but it's looking so much more complete not being 50% blank spaces anymore I think. Yeah 13 seasons is a lot, I actually watched most of the episodes. A lot of them, especially the early seasons, are based on short stories, though that doesn't keep them from being just as long as the other episodes. But they're all seperate stories so one can easily just pick up any book or episode they like. No need to start at the beginning.
congrats on getting those things done :D for me, I haven't actually done anything with my pets since buying TC slots came out. I've been meaning to redo one pet's profile, but with all those adjustments Keith was doing, I was half scared to do anything.
You have a lot of stuff in that gallery to put away xD
And thanks- that tropical theme is for one pet. I'm trying to gather tropical island / oceanic things for him. He's an anthro shark who lives on a tropical island, he is a vegetarian because he is also Buddhist (why I put that in there) and he likes to surf and stuff... The monk at the temple there is a sea turtle, and the shark's girlfriend is an angler fish. Hopefully that explains the things I picked out better!
I've been meaning to start a thread asking for more help finding these types of items. I need for the Omen Islands Hut to become buyable with sP because I need to raid it for this TC very badly lol
yeah I haven't seen anyone build on that idea either, which is odd because it seems like a very cool idea to make pets as 'Aspects' of a whole character, rather than make a bunch of individual ocs. its such an awesome untapped potential for character building, because with it im fleshing out my character in many ways- making manifestations of the aspect is a start but with stories you flesh out, say, why your character fears something seemingly unexplainable, or why they hate this one thing or something similar. it's a really neat chance to explore your character and offer an inside look at them.
maybe it'll let me actually write out my character's backstory >_> ive been rping her for 3 years but never sat down and actually wrote out what has happened in those years bc that is a lot of character developing done lmao
he/it | I'm afraid I'm a bit lost around here. | | |
It's finished!!! I've just completed the background image for Edwina's page and have set about constructing and positioning the rest of her profile. I'm honestly very happy with the end results, now all that's left is to finish expanding her TC to fit in the plethora of thread, pins and fabric that I've collected for her.
Although, I have just noticed that the hovers on the treasure, overlays and story div don't appear to be working, and yet they seem to be working just fine on Curve's profile. Not sure what's up with that, since they both use the same code :/
That's awesome. And it looks super adorable. And her tc is starting to take shape as well. :)
Thank you! :) I'm super excited, I've always wanted to have a pet with a large TC, but I haven't yet had a character that warranted it.
I must say, this board (and everyone on it) has been an excellent motivator, I'm glad I started posting here.
Stuffing tc's can be super fun. Organizing them less so. :P
I really agree. This thread is great for motivation. Sometimes all it takes to get started is just to tell someone about your plans.
Very true :)
Hey, I don't suppose you've been having issues with the hovers on your pet profiles, have you? I just cannot for the life of me figure out why they've suddenly stopped working on Cinnabon and Edwina's pages.
You're in chrome, right? Because they work fine for me in firefox, but not at all in chrome. Chrome has been having a lot of issues lately, especially with hovers, but on the other hand I just tried adding an opacity hover to one of my own profiles and that works just fine.
I could try taking a closer look at your code if you want. See if I can figure out if there's a problem.
ps. looking at your code I have one advice. You only really need one set of style tags for your css. :P You don't need a new one for every line.
Oh really? Well that's sort of a relief, I guess I'll make some tweaks or otherwise I'll just try refreshing, thanks a bundle Sonata! :D
Well, clearly, you should listen to the sign :P
Just wanted to say that one of my pets finally won, thanks for helping me get out of the "laziness" rut I was in XD

That definitely sounds like a sign. ;) You should listen to your subconsciousness.
That is awesome. Congrats. :D
Yeah, chrome really has been acting up lately. Hovers and clicking things not reacting. That's the reason I switched back to firefox.
