My favorite part is putting gifts under the trees of my friends. It gives me great joy making others happy. :) I know that is sappy, but it truly is my favorite part. Also I really love going to Melody's Cottage.

ETA: Also, for all those new to Luminaire this year, if you go back to Melody's Cottage and donate 2,000 sp you get a box of ornaments you can eventually decorate your tree with. :)

I love Advent Calendars (having something to look forward to every day) and I love all the winter-themed things and I love the generosity of people on the site. I'm not crazy about Christmas anymore (thaaaanks retail) but Luminaire really is my favorite Subetan holiday.

- I like doing the "leave a gift under the person's tree above you" stuff. There was one last year where the person would leave a word like "rainbow" or "star" and you had to give them things that fit the theme. That was fun. :)

I don't see a Luminaire board up yet this year. I hope there will be one...

So how does Mysterious Melody work? I joined and exchanged a couple of gifts with someone, then they disappeared. Do I go back and get paired with a different person each day? Or am I linked to the same person for the whole festival period?

You get a new person each day that you decide to sign up. I did it a couple of times, but it's very hit or miss. Sometimes you get a dud.

So how much to people usually spend on the Mysterious Melody thing? And are we not supposed to be able to see who we're paired with?

~ You can't see who you are paired with. As for how much to spend, well that totally depends on what you are comfortable spending. I got paired with a partner today who is very gracious with their gifts so, I have spent a lot in Mysterious Melody gifts today. I'm not too worried though because the sp will easily be recouped with questing.

I got a partner and am having fun compiling a list of festive gifts and giving some of them!

In all the years I have been doing Mysterious Melody, I have only had a bad match a few times. I also try to keep in perspective that a lot of new people may not be able to send great gifts. People do what they can to try and make others happy and that's what matters. :)
