I cant say I completely disagree with people who alter their eye color because it is almost like putting make-up on. They both alter natural beauty..I havent ever changed my eye color in a picture because there is no need to..It might just be a confidence issue

Just my opinion :)

I know, it's funny. I love my eyes, and even if I didn't like them, I suck at any photo-manipulation. My eyes are blue, when I was younger there was more green in them, but a little brown dot always stayed there, which I got from my dad.

Honestly, all eyes are pretty, they're eyes. :D

hahaha, woww. totalll fakness. (fakeness?)

this. as much as i would love huge bright blue eyes, they would look awkward on me with my skin tone and hair color. i see so many over-photoshopped myspace girls with fake hair colors and fake eye colors and it's like ugh... who are you trying to fool ??

I had a friend who was convinced her eyes turned gold when she got angry. I...I don&;t think that&;s even possible. I know that the pigment in your eye can be yellow, but I don&;t think exclusively so.

A girl I know is convinced that her eyes turn black when she's upset and purple when she's really reeeeeeeeeeaaalllly mad. xD At first I was like "lolwhut?" but now I just think she's crazy. C;

I've photoshoped, well, used GIMP, on quite a bit of my pictures. Truthfully, only to see what I'd kinda look like with a clearer face. ._.

I think only ten people have seen them.

Though with my camera, my eyes look grey. But they're green. A dull green. But one looks darker than the other. You have to know to look for it to notice, though. ohwell.

I agree. I also hate how people always ask me if I photoshop my eyes because they are a really bright blue when in the sun.
I get the same thing. People always assume I photoshop my eyecolour, then when they're seen in person everyone always makes a comment along the lines of "Wow, your eyes are brighter than I thought they were!".

So, as annoying as it is to see obviously photoshoped colours, it's equally annoying for people to think it's photoshoped when it's all natural.

[I also get asked if I'm wearing coloured contacts a lot. ...But that's a different topic entirely.]

I hate when people do that, too. When people photoshop pictures of themselves in general it just turns out...bad. The eye-changing-colors thing is absolutely hysterical. lolwut.

Sometimes my eyes look blue-green, other days blue-gray, other days teal. No 'emotion-changing' shit. They never stray from the color blue, however. If I woke up with brown eyes, the first thing I would say is 'fuck'. I love my eyes.

I lol'd at the pictures. Seriously. Oh-so fake.

I had a friend whose eyes turned like... violet. Seriously. Bright freakin violet. I was there when it happened. It was the weirdest fucking thing I have ever seen in my LIFE. Her eyes are always different. They're sort of grey and then they'll be blue, and another day they'll be more hazel, and sometimes even downright brown. But the violet was CRAZY. It was the weirdest thing I have seen. Ever. They stayed that way for like two days before they went back to a darkish sort of blue.

It was seriously insane. No lie.

My eyes are blue though. A friend said they looked like cracked ice before. =)

I am getting rather sick of the &;it&;s so fake&; argument. What is &;fake&;, really? We are always acting different/dressing different depending on the situation... what is &;real&;?

Well, my eyes are really brown. If I Photoshopped them to look purple, and presented that as myself, that would be fake. I do not have purple eyes, I have brown eyes.

Plus, people who do that, do it for attention. They want the attention people give them for having eyes they don't have. And sadly, people do deliver. I've seen very obviously Photoshopped eyes, in a wide variety of colors (generally green and violet), and people oooh and ahhh over it. The Photoshopper eats it up, and goes "Yes, my eyes are really that purple!"

The thing about eyes is that all eyes are beautiful, expressive, and unique to a person. Eyes are the windows to the soul. Why would would anyone want to fake that? If you really have brown hair and dye it blonde, it's not a big deal because hair is just dressing, it doesn't mean anything. Eyes say so much about a person.

Okay, I find it pretty ridiculous that some of you guys feel the need to post pictures of other people because you don't like the fact that they photoshopped their eyes. Maybe some people just enjoy having fun with their pictures and photoshop? Especially in the obvious case of the one blue eye, one green eye picture.

I am perfectly happy with my plain ol' brown eyes - it just fits me, but I don't get pissed off, angry, or hateful towards people who want to photoshop their EYES a different color. Gee golly gleepers, people. :P

Well, the colour of your eyes does not really reflect your soul. If, for example, another soul were to take over someone&;s body, then you would see a clear difference in the &;quality&; of their eyes. The colour would not change, but the &;look&; in them would.

Anyway, I just do not see a problem with people changing the colour of their eyes either with contacts or photoshop/another image editing program. It is slightly annoying when they say, &;Yes, my eyes are purple,&; when they are not, but it is not a big deal to me.

I agree. What about people who dye their hair? Does that mean they are fake? I have dyed my hair red many times and have received many compliments because it actually looked nice on me. But hey, I guess I am being fake. The fact that people are putting so much focus and negativity towards those who do something as innocent as changing their eye color makes them just as superficial as those they are criticizing.

Well I've had green hair. I got plenty of compliments on it. Now that doesn't mean I went around telling everyone, "Yes, my hair really is this green!" :P

I think this is more of a commentary on how some individuals feel the need to alter their image artificially, through photo editing to fit what is seen as beautiful.

People who do so don't make -me- angry, I just feel bad for them, like I said earlier.

Um no hun it doesn&;t.

Actually, some people's eyes do change. I have a friend who's eyes change so much and so often that I've actually witnessed them changing as I talked to him. It was kinda creepy. But it was just that they are some ones blue-green. Sometimes more green than blue, some times just blue with no green. Not like completely drastic, but it was strange to be able to witness the color change which happens for no explainable reasons like his surroundings. Also, my eyes have changed colors with the color of hair that I've had. They're hazel, I guess you'd call them. A mix of brown and green. When I had my natural hair color, brown, I had very hazel eyes, with a lot of green mixed with brown shades, and if I were to stand in a field of grass they'd turn completely green. Then when I dyed my hair black my eyes were just a brown with hardly any green in them and even if I wore green eye shadow or tried to influence their color, they still wouldn't turn as green as before. Now that I'm blonde ((platinum)) my eyes change a lot more easily with the light and my surroundings, and the colors that I wear etc, however are most typically a lighter, more "pumpkin" brown than before with less green. However, they've always had slight changes depending on those conditions, just mixed with different hair colors the changes come easier or harder or differently. My eyes change a lot compared to most peoples. Definitely not like the friend that I talked about above. But anyway. Some examples of proof that some people's eyes do change.

This. Especially when they claim they change with their emotions. >>;

Ha ha. That always makes me laugh, I think it's in their own head.

My eyes do change color when I cry, though, but that has to do with the tears. It's hard to explain in words you'd have to see them. I have a bluerish rim around the irises of my eyes and what is usually green or brown takes on a hue closer to that of the rim after I've been crying for a long time.

No, actually they do not

Like just about everyone else who has said so, perception of color changes based on external factors, but your eye color generally is the same.

"However, this presumed color change does not actually take place; it is a misperception by the observer, often due to variations in lighting."

x/ Well as far as I'm concerned the color of something is whether I see it as blue, green, red, purple, etc. If I look in the mirror and my eyes look greener than they did yesterday, for whatever reason, whether there be a reason or not, as far as I'm concerned: they are more green. I'm not going to get technical about whether they are greener, or just look greener; who does that? It's the same as if you say "My weight is 100 pounds." and I try to get technical on you and say "Actually, your MASS is 100 pounds." That's just annoying and wouldn't matter unless you were trying to get professional about it.

EDIT:

"Like just about everyone else who has said so, perception of color changes based on external factors, but your eye color generally is the same."

Did I not mention that my eyes change ((or should I say APPEAR TO change.)) based on external factors? o.o However, I can't explain why the friend mentioned eyes change so quickly and dramatically for no obvious reason. There probably is one, but they undergo almost constant changes, and it's just weird and interesting. At first when he told me they do that I didn't believe him, but after talking to him a lot and concentrating on trying to prove him wrong, I realized that I couldn't. They seriously do just do that.
