- Nathaniel rolled his eyes and sighed at Landin. [I]He's such a bluffer.[/I] he thought. "What would be the point? Just to annoy me?" He asked. "Screw off Landin." He muttered with a scowl. He waant ready to lose his temper and punch Landin... again.

Landin saw he was getting to him, his smirk widened." Yeah pretty much, you care about her, your eyes can't lie.... so I'd do it just to hurt you. " A tokoroth appeared by Landin's side awaiting." Hmm... maybe I'll do it just for fun.....shes probably still in the forest. All alone, just sitting out there.No one would notice her bloodied corspe with it snowing till the spring." He laughed, a dark spin chilling laugh and glared at Nathaniel." You dont believe me?"

Eliza tilted her face slightly up and caught a glimpse of a tokoroth. She immediately jerked her head out of the water and whisked around to face Landin. "What's with the tokoroth?" she demanded. "You better not hurt anybody."

He turned to Eliza." No, wy would I hurt you or Sam.... its only Nathaniel who I hate..... and the Tokoroth is it just prove my point!" He said.

Eliza narrowed her eyes and stood between Nathaniel and Landin. "You're not going to hurt him," she snarled at him. "He's one of us, remember?"

Landin glared at her." No... hes not..... it doesnt matter if he has that tattoo... he is not one of us...." He growled looking over at Nathaniel over Eliza's head.

Eliza glared right back at him. "Of course he is. Why would you say he isn't?"

- Nathaniel's eyes narrowed slightly when Landin declared he wasn't 'one of them'. "Of course he is. Why would you say he isn't?" Eliza asked, stepping between them. He glared at Landin silently, and glanced at the tokoroth. He gave a slight shake of his head, and another tokoroth appeared. His own attacked Landin's, engaging in a whirling ball of sharp claws and teeth. Nathaniel put his hand on Eliza's shoulder and gently pushed her back. "It's okay." he said quietly. He stood about a foot away from Landin, ready to pull his knife if he needed too. "And why and I not a soul eater?" he asked, his voice calm but his eyes unreadable.

bic: Fawn blinked open her eyes and slowly sat up from her postion laying on the ground shivering slightly. She was covered with a thin layer of snow which she shook off. " I guess I fell asleep..... nice job Fawn you could have gotten sick....i guess i should head back to-" Her words triled off as she heard something moving in the trees behind her, she slowly picked up her quiver and bow and looked through the bushes to see a Tokoroth running through the trees." Where are you going?" She said to her self, turning and quietly following it through the trees."Of course he is. Why would you say he isn't?" She heard a girls voice speaking and stood from her position in the shadows of some of the trees and looked out to see the soul eater group and Nathaniel and Landin arguing. She glared at the sight, it was all because of Landin, she hated him... She took an arrow from her quiver and tied a strip of clan skin on the base and aimed it skillfully. She let it go sending it through the trees and into Landin's shoulder sending him backwards. Before he could regain his footing,she aimed and fired another which struck him in the stomach just where he had stabbed her. She grinned from her place from behind the trees.

Landin stared Nathaniel down."Because you were never one of us, no matter what that tattoo means. You were forced by your father to get it, your idiot father.You never eanted to be a Soul Eater..... you never accepted it. You are always fighting the fact that you are...." He said moving his hand to his waist by his knife incase Nathaniel attacked him. Another Tokoroth appeared and started fighting with the other two. Landin opened his mouth to say something but was hit in the shoulder by an arrow, he stmbled back and was hit again in the stomach. Falling aginst a tree he hissed in pain.

- Nathaniel rolled his eyes when Landin stared at him, apparently trying to stare him down or intimidate him. "Because you were never one of us, no matter what that tattoo means. You were forced by your father to get it, your idiot father. You never wanted to be a Soul Eater..... you never accepted it. You are always fighting the fact that you are...." Landin said. "Shut up Landin. You don't even know what you're talking about.'' Nathaniel snapped, glaring at him. He stood a quick step back when an arrow struck Landin in the shoulder. The crack of a bowstring, and Landin suddenly had another arrow in his stomach. Nathaniel's first thought was a Red Deer patrol, or Marra. He whipped an axe from his belt and looking at the trees, concentrating on the angle the arrow had come from. His father had taught him how to throw axes when he was younger, and though he preferred knives and bows, axes were good because they were strong and pretty easy to use. "Show yourself." he snapped. "If you don't, I'll throw." he said, positioning the axe.

Fawn watched Nathaniel whip out his axe and turn trying to finds her in the trees, she was a skilled hunter and knew hos to hide from the prey and blend in with the forest. "Show yourself." he snapped. "If you don't, I'll throw She grinned to herself, if he knew it was her then he would never had said anything, or if her even had noticed one of the arrows had a raven feather and a strip of her clan skin on it. She slowly made her way away from the spot he was aiming pulling the large hood over her head so she blended in even more. She made her way across the stream and stood behind some trees and bushes watching.

Landin growled in pain as hepulled out the arrow from his shoulder and put pressure on it." Who the hell just shot me...."

- "Who the hell just shot me...." Landin growled. "We don't know yet, idiot." Nathaniel muttered, glaring at him. He took the bloody arrow that Landin had pulled out and studied the fletching. He ran his fingers across the smooth, blue-black feather. Raven... he thought. He then noticed a strip of Red Deer hide. Fawn. he thought immediately. He stood up. "I'll be back." he said, not giving details about where he was going. He hesitated before he left and opened his bag, taking out some medical supplies. He tossed Landin some soapwort for cleaning it, a bone needle and some sinew thread for stitching it, and some bindings. "You can do it yourself." he said, before disappearing into the trees. Nathaniel followed Fawn's tracks through the forest. She had moved soundlessly. She was good, but so was he, and after years of hunting and learning the ways of prey, tracking wasn't hard for him. He paused at a stream, and looked at the ground across the water. More tracks, from the same boots. These were much easier to see, and they were deep because they were fresh, and the soil on the stream-bed was soft and wet. He lowered his axe and stepped over the streams. He knew Fawn was hiding within the foliage straight ahead of him. "...You shouldn't have done that." he muttered. "If Landin finds out it was you...he won't hesitate to..." Nathaniel couldn't finish the sentence. He knew how it ended, though. He thought, To kill you.

Fawn smiled as she saw him study the arrow and then leave. She figured he was following her tracks."...You shouldn't have done that." he muttered. "I would hope you would see the arrow.Yeah I figured but I dont care, you obliviously dont." She looked away."Hes right you know.... I am weak... I hate fighting and... thats going to get me killed one day so, I figured I would prove him wrong. Besides you did not see.... he was reaching for his knife and was going to attack you where you stood." She said turning pulling off her hood and staring at Nathaniel with sad eyes." I could not let him try and kill you... I-" She stopped not sure how to finish.

- Nathaniel turned to the side slightly, averting his gaze. He focused on a dark raven perched on the top of a nearby pine tree. "I could not let him try and kill you... I-" Fawn said, stopping. "I can look after myself." Nathaniel said defensively, looking back at her sharply. "Look, I've been looking out for myself for years. I don't need any protection." he said.

Fawn whipped her head and stared at him hurt shown in her eyes."Are you seriously being that cold to me.... again......" She said quietly pulling her hood up." Well sorry, next time I see someone pulling out a knife to stab you without you seeing, I'll just let them do it." She said hut showing through she took the knife out of her belt and threw it on the ground at his feet." Ive been looking out for myself as well. Remember.... my parents were murdered by the lynx demon in front of me. So you know what Next time a crazy lady is about to kill me LET HER! I can look after myself as well" She yelled at him. She turned and picked up her bow from the ground and placed it around her shoulders about to stomb by him but stopped herself." I did not let him kill you because...because I care about you ok? I have no clue what to think about these feelings but....nevermind" She said adverting his gaze." Not like you care anyways."She said unable to get her feet moving so she just stood looking through the trees.

- Nathaniel glared at Fawn silently. He hated the way she was talking to him. "You....you don't understand." he said. "I'm doing it to protect you. Fawn, I'm an outcast and a Soul Eater. A ton of people want to kill me." he looked her straight in the eye. "Tell me truthfully, do you really think it would be wise to be friends?" he asked, his eyes burning into hers.

Fawn stared back into his eyes, feeling weighted down by them.She was silent for a while until she finally spoke." I understand your trying to protect me, since you met me thats all your every trying to do now....Protect me. I understand its dangerious but.... I still want to be your friend." She saidhonestly." It may seem stupid but... Yes I truthfully think its wise to be friends." She said flinching at the thoguht that he was going to be angry with what she said. She knew it was dangerious to still want to be friends with him but.... she did not want to stop being friends with him. It was not his fault he was a Soul Eater or an Outcast. ."I-im sorry if what I said earlier made you mad...."

- "I-I'm sorry if what I said earlier made you mad...." Fawn said, after she told him that she still wanted to be friends. "I'm not mad. Just... worried, that's all," Nathaniel said. He glanced away for a moment, before she looked back at her. "I'm sorry, too. For pushing you away." he added. He walked over to her. "Forgive me?" he asked, a small smile tugging on the corner of his mouth.

Fawn looked up at him and smiled as well." Your forgiven. " She said looking up at him happy he was not mad."Dont be worried, I'm smart i will make sure no one finds out about you ok. That was neither of us will be caught."She said walking over and hugging him" I'm not going ot apoligize for shooting Landin though, you can tell me your mad about that." She said .

- Nathaniel hugged her back. "I'm not going to apoloize for shooting Landin though, you can tell me your mad about that." Fawn said. He laughed, and said, "No...I'm not angry about that. Landin deserved it anyway..." he said.
