Benjamin Key, a.k.a, Benji had been listening to the odd sounds that the charter bus had been making for the last half hour. He also took note when the bus slowed down, and the two buses in front had left them. It made him nervous, and his blue eyes showed that, but he tried to remain calm.
When the bus stopped completely and the motor died, Benji inhaled sharply, and looked up at the bus driver, who had stood up. "It looks like the bus has somehow managed to run out of gas, so we're going to have to do something about this," the fat, balding man, whose name Benji did not know, explained.
I thought we filled the tank up awhile ago, Benji thought.
As if the bus driver could read Benji's mind, he said, "I'm not sure how we're out of gas, but I'm going to go check. I guess you kids can get out, and stretch, if you want. I don't know how long it's going to be before we can get this thing running again, if we even get it running again," The bus driver opened the door, and got out, and then disappeared.
Benji turned his Mp3 player off, and snatched the earbuds out of his ears, and then sighed. "Stranded...." He mumbled under his breath. He was scared, and that was all. He didn't want to get out of the bus. They were basically in the middle of the woods in Georgia, which was a state that he wasn't really familiar with. He was just going to stay on the bus, and pray that the driver could get it fixed or something.
"What. The. Fuck?" Ryan Skotts sighed as the bus stopped, and then the bus driver got out to go check what was going on. He watched out the window as the bus driver walked over to the opening in the fuel tank, and then take the cap off, glance in, and then get down on his knees and look under the bus.
"I'm going to go see if I can help him," Ryan stood up. He had helped a couple of his friends work on cars and he knew some about them, but he'd never even messed with a bus, and he was certain it wasn't similar. He was still going to try to help though.
Ryan stepped off the bus, and walked over to the bus driver. "Do ya know what's wrong?" He asked, crouching down.
"Leak. There's a hole in the fuel tank," The teacher sighed, sitting up on his knees.
"So, we're screwed, right?" Ryan sighed.
"I don't know what to do. Even if we repair the hole, we have no fuel, and nowhere to get any," The driver explained.
"Want me to go announce the bad news?" Ryan asked, standing up.
"Go ahead, kid," The bus driver mumbled.
Ryan nodded and walked back onto the bus, and spoke loudly. "People, we have a problem! There is a hole in the fuel tank, so we are now in the middle of nowhere with no vehicle!" His voice boomed a bit, so even people with headphones on would probably hear him.
Benji's eyes widened. They were stuck in an unfamiliar area? This was not going to be a fun trip... He glanced around, trying to see the reactions of the other students.
Unaware of the weird sounds the bus had been making the whole trip, Kaiden sat in his seat disconnected from the rest of the world as he got to the funny part of his joke. When he finally realized that his "audience" was no longer listening, he looked out the window to discover that the bus was no longer moving.
He took the headphone of his mp3 player out of his right ear and slid it into his pocket. He glanced back out the window and observed the wooded area. He looked everywhere he could possibly look to try and find an idea to make a joke from. He liked making interesting situations light and funny, but when he couldn't think of a joke or something funny to say he put the headphone back into his right ear and waited for something worth his time to happen.
But as soon as he had put the headphone back into his ear Ryan appeared at the front of the bus and announced to everyone that there was a hole in the fuel tank and that they were in the middle of nowhere. Kaiden then decided to try and be funny while throwing a small insult at the over-popular jock. "I think everyone can tell that we are in the middle of nowhere. Thank you Captain Obvious!" After getting a few smart-alek words out there, he got up stretched and started walking around the bus.
Shalene's iPod was turned up to the maximum so that everyone sitting near to her would probably have heard ACDC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" blasting into her ears. The black-haired girl was trying to block out any other sounds, thinking that just focusing on the music would make the terrible after-effects of the weed she had smoked last night go away. It wasn't working too well, but at least she didn't have to listen to the people chattering.
Sitting with her eyes closed, she had not realized that anything had happened until the bus came to a halt. Her brown eyes shot wide open and darted around the bus. Were they there already? No, this certainly didn't look like Florida to her. In fact, it looked like some dull forest in the middle of nowhere. She turned down the volume of her music ever so slightly and looked at Ryan with a dazed expression. Was there a possibility that the weed was having some kind of weird effect on her that made her imagine things? They couldn't really be stuck in the middle of nowhere. It had to be some kind of horrible joke.
"What the...?" she muttered sourly, glaring at the jock with a look that made it seem as though she thought this was all his fault. When not thinking too clearly, Shalene had a tendency to blame anyone for anything she could think of - and since he was the one who had told them about this, it was now his fault that they were stuck here. Wanting to find out what was going on, she tried to rise from her seat, but sank down again as the stabbing headache struck again.
The brunette giggled at what the person sitting next to her said (doesn't really matter who) and shook her head, her short curls bouncing a little. Her eyes smiled when she laughed. She traced a circle with her thumb over the wheel pad of her lime green iPod, changing the volume higher and lower, higher and lower and her knee bounced up and down, waiting to release the stored energy as soon as they got to Florida.
Terri fiddled around in her red messenger bag until she found her new yellow string bikini. She was careful not to take it out, so Ryan or Kaiden wouldn't see. She hoped she would get either of them to notice by wearing it, even though she's pretty modest about her body. The girl sighed wistfully, then took her earbuds out of her ears and wrapped the cord around the mp3 player and put it in the bag. Then she realized the bus wasn't moving. Why are we stopping? she wondered, and sat up in her seat, noticing the same confused face on everyone else. Terri watched Ryan walk down the aisle of the bus, and stared until he got off the bus, then watched him converse with the driver through the open bus window. No gas? Aww... Well maybe we could check out the nearest town or something while we wait for the bus to be fixed! It'd take a little while longer, but that's okay.
Her head snapped up when she heard Ryan's raised voice from the front of the bus. When he said they were in the middle of nowhere without a vehicle, she slapped her forehead. That's NOT how you calmly let people know you're stranded in the middle of some random forest in Georgia! she thought, shaking her head. Terri stood up and cleared her throat.
"Umm... What he means is that... We are just having some mechanical difficulties...And, umm... That we don't have anything to worry about. And trust me, the bus driver definitely knows exactly where we are!" she yelled right after him, trying to cover his awful mistake, and threw in a grin to help assure some of the students that may be freaking out.
"What the hell!" The unexpected stopping of the bus had jerked Alivia Travik forward, and she stabbed herself in the eye with her liquid eyeliner brush. The black of it had swamped over her eye, nearly covering an entire half of it. She screwed the top on and threw it angrily into her makeup bag, removed a small bottle of Visine, and applied it accordingly. A tissue was used to sop up her blackened eye juice. 'This better be good!" She screamed dramatically at the bus driver. Alivia clicked her compact mirror closed and shoved that in the bag, as well. Hurriedly she moved her purse from her lap to the space next to her, and she shifted out of her seat. Quickly, she shoved past all the snot-nosed kids in the aisle and stomped down the stairs of the bus, onto the road with the bus driver. "What the hell!" Alivia repeated, and she flicked her hair back off her shoulders, put her hands on her thin waist, and tapped an impatient foot. "WHAT is going ON?! You better have some sort of alternate plan, because I'm not sitting on a smelly bus with a bunch of gross acne-faced kids all day, waiting to be rescued!"

Kiri adjusted the clip holding her bangs in place on her head. She felt the bus slow to a stop. Kiri glanced at Gianno, who had just lit a cigarette, and grimaced at the smoke. "Oh well" She sighed as she thought to herself. "Its his life to live." She swooped her back pack up and, after the bus had stopped completely and she stood up, picking up her violin case with her. She set it down carefully and looked at were they were.
She looked around for her friend Terri, who was always happy. She stood in front of the bus waiting for her. She looked down her her outfit. It was a summery outfit, jean capris and a light blue tank top accompanied with a white jacket. It was simple. but it was the right look for her. Terri came down the step and Kiri waved with a smile. She blinked and looked around. She didn't recognize anything. "... So were are we anyway?" She looked around for a road sign.

Kaiden soon noticed that people were starting to get off the bus. So he decided to follow. Not to mention this was a great opportunity to be the center of attention and cause some trouble...in a funny way of course. He walked slowly off the bus to the students who were already outside. Watching Alivia freak out made him laugh. "Alivia chill. It's just make-up. You can "reapply" it some other time. Right? And besides you look amazing." He gave her a creepy smile, just to freak her out a little bit more. Since they were in high school now, he hoped that all of these people could understand his humor and take his jokes. He really did think that Alivia looked pretty, he just liked to mess with her and anyone else he could mess with.
He then turned to Terri,"By the way, we are in the middle of nowhere. Even though we should be in Tennessee, cause you're the only ten I see." He winked at her and then laughed at himself. He would always laugh when he said a pick-up line, because they were always so stupid and cheesy.
The girl giggled as Alivia stormed off the bus, and rolled her hazel eyes. She's so materialistic... she thought, glad she wasn't like her. In fact, Terri rarely wore makeup other than a little lipgloss and eyeshadow. She didn't even notice Kaiden was standing by her until he spoke directly to her. She blushed a little, and her lips turned up to form a sweet smile. Instead of butterflies, it seemed like there was a flock of birds in her chest, and her brain was streaming a million thoughts a minute. For Terri, his words went in slow motion, and she didn't react until a few seconds after he said it.
"That doesn't make a lot of sense, but okay!" she giggled. After she was all giggled out, she began to wonder what they were going to do now. "And yeah... I know we're totally lost, but there has to be someone else on this road, right?" Then she wondered if she remembered any cars passing the bus while they were still moving.
Kiri blinked at Kaiden and looked back at Terri, who looked Dazed off. "...Terri?... Terri? Earth to Terri." She waved her hand in front of her face. She pulled back and bit the tip of her thumb. She sighed. "Guess you're gone." She knew Terri liked Kaiden... ALOT.
She looked around she pulled out her phone and tinkered around with it for a while before being bored out of her mind. What was taking the bus driver so long? "Wheres the bus driver? He should just call Triple A or something..." She shook her hand as if shooing something away.

She blinked herself out of a daze, and grinned at Kiri.
"I'm here!" she laughed. "Do we even get a reception out here, though?" Terri pulled out a red LG EnV, and flipped it open. Not to her shock, she had no bars. She held it up a little, but still no signal. She sighed. "Well... We still have our own two feet! It's not like we can't walk along the road until we find a town or some place!" The girl feigned a smile, flashing a thumbs up sign. Oh, who am I kidding? But I should stay positive. See the glass as half-full! Not half-empty. Or maybe I should just be neutral. Like... Half the glass has water in it?
Kiri Smiled. "I don't think that's possible Terri." She giggled nervously. She looked around. No sight of any town. She sighed. "Hmm? I still dont see the bus driver..." Kiri looked at the chatting high schoolers. She wished she had a better look at life like Terri. She was pretty, smart, and knew her way around things. Kiri knew more about computers than how to look great. "god... Im just demeaning my self again." She thought to herself
