That is just not right! Who asks something like that anyways? Jeez.

I love my black cat. I wanted one for years and 10 years ago I adopted my cat from a shelter. I also have a decent size collection of black cat items, because people like to give me them as gifts. Not that I mind at all :)

Can I just say that everyone's cats on this thread are FREAKING ADORABLE!!! I just coo while reading the posts.

Ugh, I'm sorry you had to deal with someone like that. I have a black cat as well, and this month actually makes a year since I adopted her! It was near Halloween when I saw her at the rescue, and I fell in love. Since it was October, they normally don't let anyone adopt black cats during the month because there have been... unpleasantnesses. I asked if I could fill out an application or something, and they said sure, and on it, it asked if I had other pets and things, and I mentioned the kitty I had adopted from them last April, and gave all my contact info so that I could adopt her after Halloween. They called the next day, and said I could pick her up. ❤ My other cat adopted her like she was her baby. They're both strictly indoor cats as well. Pandora tries to sneak out every now and then, but it's only if she sees a bird or something, in which case she'll run into the fenced in back yard and sit down until I go get her. She's too fat for her harness now, too. I just can't deal with the idea of letting my cats out and one day just not having them come back. Bagheera has zero interest in going outside, which is perfect.

This is my cat Maxou. He's not all black, he has a little white on his chest and the inside of his legs. If his white chest spot is covered up at night and you're in a dark room, you can only see his eyes and it's quite creepy. This is a picture I took a few weeks ago in his Halloween costume. He didn't really appreciate it but he was nice enough to pose for the camera. He's strictly an indoor cat and the only time he's been outside was in a carrier to the vet's XD

Didn't take long at all actually. He's a squirmer but once he realizes you're not letting go he becomes almost like a ragdoll. He did however act like the costume was killing him and kept flopping over every two steps XD

my family used to have a black cat who we let outside a lot. one day near halloween, my dad heard a little girl on the sidewalk in front of the house go "look, mommy!! it's the witch!!" and point at our cat lol. we always kept her inside on halloween night so no one would try to hurt her.

that cat died a few years ago, but we have another black cat now. he's about a year old and his name is castiel. (: he doesn't go outside, so i'm not worried about his safety.
