I've got four cats, three of them being black and one of them being partically black partically ginger and the last one completely disappears in fall leaves, it's so cute. Halloween isn't really a thing where I live though, so my cats don't get harassed for such things. I'm considering to be Emily the Strange for Old Sunder, which is the local equal to Halloween, and gives my cats a role too. They usually walk around me anyway :')
Lovely kitties! :D I hate that someone asked you that. We can't adopt out black cats at my job or at the shelter I volunteer at around Halloween. People want them for all the wrong reasons this time of year, it seems! :(
I have a black cat named Vicious and I think I might run someone off my property with a shovel for asking to "borrow" him for Halloween. I don't believe a person who would do something like that would treat the cats well. If you want a black cat to pose as a witch's familiar for your costume then go down to the toy store and get a fake one.

I have one black cat who is part Siamese and has yellow eyes, her name is Frigg. I tried dressing her up for Halloween last year and she wasn't having that. My cats are always indoors, but I would be especially careful with them on Halloween. It's really a shame how much of a stigma there is around black cats when it's obviously all just stupid superstitions.

Huge chance I would have punched them. And I've never punched anyone. I've had three black cats. The first was Spooky, we were about the same age, she a little younger, and she liked to play mind games with me--I was terrified of her, but I learned to respect cats. She liked to sit out on our enclosed porch a lot, but on Halloween we always kept her inside, just incase, because we lived in a small redneck town. After she passed away, we took in a stray cat, named her Sphinx (but we all called her Doodle Bug, my husband thought Doodle and Sphinx were two different cats when we first started dating, lol). I can't remember Subeta forums pic size limit, so here is her photo. Right now the only all black cat we have is mom's Sinder. He's a huge long haired cat. Here he is with his brother.
lmfao people are so stupid who would even ask something like that?
here's my dingus cat, her name is luna petunia and she's not very photogenic:
Man, your neighbor has some weird ideas about cats! Unless she wants to borrow yours so they can like, ignore her and sleep in another room? :u
Once we had a very large, very affectionate male black cat that always slept on our front porch. During Halloween, people would think he was a fake decoration and be so surprised when he started cuddling on them.
No really, I mean... what the HECK. How can you even borrow a cat? That's not even possible.
Aww, your cat looks just like the cat my roommates and I "have" haha. By that I mean, she's not actually anyone's but she comes around here all the time and we keep her inside from time to time and feed her. but that's just crazy. I don't know anyone that would let someone borrow their animals.

I don't even understand how a black cat would make her witch costume any better. I mean like I know black cats on halloween and that but.. I don't get it? If she was going as a black cat and she wanted one as like.. her kitten or something that would at least make sense. What the fuck and what is she even planning on doing with it while she's out that night? Are you literally going to carry a cat around with you the entire night? Regular props are annoying enough.

Wow that's really fucking stupid. I don't have any cats, just two dogs, but I'd never let anyone borrow my pets. LOL NO. How does someone even think about asking that and not realize how stupid of an idea that is???
It's pathetic that some people think that animals = objects.
Wow, I don't know if that's sad or creepy. You can easily get a plush black cat and use it for your costume. What if something had happened to either of them, bet she didn't think of that.
That's a little disturbing. I can't stand people who think animals are disposable. It's sick. It's also a little silly that people still believe in some stigma surrounding black cats. I've never noticed any differences between them and other cats. I had a black cat, Miss April Ivory Hamilton, and I adored her, but she wasn't a good fit as an indoor cat, so she had to go and live out in the country where she could roam and hunt and be happy. My neighbor also has a black kitty named Night who gallivants about the apartment complex and visits me often. :3 I have some photos of them, on a lovely morning when they decided to model for a special black cats only photo shoot for me: April and her shadow, handsome Mr. Night, when April met Night
That would've really ticked me off. I use to own a beautiful, pure black cat. He had the most beautiful, most vivid colored green eyes I've ever seen. He was the perfect target for something like this. After we moved into this town, he would always go missing for a week around Halloween. Every year we would try to catch him before hand since he's a outdoor cat, but every year he'd disappear just before we were planning to catch him and keep him inside. Every year we would be worried sick until he returned. A few years ago, he vanished like normal around Halloween. I haven't seen him since. It really hurt me, I had found him in an abandoned lot in some old shelves in a town we use to live in. I had to beg my mom to let me keep him. He was my baby. I hope that maybe somebody was taking him in and they just decided to keep him, but, as we all know, some people are cruel enough to torture or even kill innocent black cats. One or two years ago, there was another black cat that appeared that I assume belonged to our neighbor, and he too went missing. I want another black cat one day, but I'm not going to get one while living in this town, since I know that black cats are known to go missing around here.
For their sake, it's a good thing they asked you that, and not me.
I would be an absolute raging beast if anything were to happen to my two kitties and they aren't even black cats (even though I adore black kitties ❤). People who hurt cats around Halloween (or any other day of the year) need to be kneed in the crotch.
{ Tumblr || Flight Rising }What even? I have 4 black cats (and a grey one), and they'd all be like 'Uhhhh, NO.' if someone tried to take them out of the house, let alone drag them around town. One of them would actively attack to protect her property, and the others would claw their way to freedom and hide.
These are my siblings: Rogue (the small one), Kael (the big one), and Echo (the grey one). That woman sounds like she's never had anything to do with cats before.
WTF?! I have two black and white cats and they were in the window one year during trick or treating and people told me how "cool" my decorations were. I was like... it's not a decoration it's my cat!
