Underworld! Yes! That was another movie I forgot to mention. Everyone I've ever known hates those movies. I love them.

And yes, Kate Beckinsale is wonderful. I adore her. ❤️

There's a couple of great youtube films that make fun of her and the Twilight movies. One is called "Everything wrong with twilight" and then there's a series of 4 films called honest trailers, followed by the titles of all those movies. You should check those out for a good laugh :D.

Last night I did some reading on my tablet about those movies and now I just can't believe I did not hear of them before. I read a lot of reviews, on the first one they're kind of mixed and on the second one most of them are, as you said, negative. I loved Roger Ebert's review on the first one, he refused to give it a positive or negative review and refused to put a star rating on it, because "this is a movie where the the stars don't shine." I also heard the second one did not get released in the UK because ratings there did not allow it lol.

I love Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale and I love all of the Underworld movies. Kate is so cool in those movies. I own all of the DVD's :D.
Hugh Jackman is cool in every movie he's in, I always love that moment in X-Men First Class when Magneto and Professor X approach him in a bar and he tells them to piss off without even looking at them lol.

Oh boy, I feel like I have a big list here, but... the first one that comes to mind is that I love the Resident Evil movies, and I am apparently one of those rare people that loves both the games and the movies. Apocalypse was what got me into the fandom in the first place, and I love that they aren't meant to be Oscar-winning masterpieces. They're kickass and entertaining to watch, and I like that they're different from the games.

The Brothers Grimm and Van Helsing are two other ones, and I also share the love for Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace! It remains my favorite in the series, but then, Qui-Gon is my favorite character haha. I still love Jar Jar as well, so high five to all you Jar Jar lovers. Oh, and the Village! I don't like a lot of M. Night Shyamalan's movies, but for some reason, I just really loved that one.

Okay, I'm done.

Grease 2 - This is one of my favourite movies ever but compared to grease...well it wasnt pretty well received but I prefer it to the original^_^ agreeing with and the saw movies! This is one of my favourite horror/gore series and despite popular opinion, I think it got better as the story progressed! Hostel 2 - again, wasn't received well but I preferred it to the original!

I've got all the DVDs too! I unfortunately haven't seen the fourth one yet. Better get on that. And Hugh Jackman's cameo in that movie was the best. It was so...Wolverine.

I tend to like movies based on what my imagination can do with the plot almost as often as I like movies because they had a great plot to start with.

I'm especially good at this with stories based (albeit sometimes very loosely) on Viking and Greek mythology. Immortals - There was very little character development and it was full of plot holes, but I filled the plot holes with imagination and it was immediately a favorite. Clash of the Titans and Wrath of the Titans - Pretty much the same thing as Immortals... Only it tooks me a little bit longer to decide that I liked them... LOL The 13th Warrior - Is probably my least favorite on this list, but I still genuinely like the movie... The good was good enough to make the bad bearable. Pathfinder - I loved this movie. I guess it was because I was able to get invested in the character of Ghost. It didn't seem slow to me... More like a real time pace. I also didn't mind the "dimly" lit shots... It made it feel cold to me, which I'd like to think was the point.

Snow White and the Huntsman - I honestly didn't mind that Stewart showed no emotion throughout the film... I just pretend it was because the character had been kept from humanity and abused by Ravenna. It would make sense, then, that the character would possess little to no social skills and would appear/be emotionally distant.

Spoiler Spoiler! Talking about a plot point here! I'll admit, my favorite part what how Snow ended up with the Huntsman instead of the "prince", like in the Disney version...
I never did like the "upbeat" Disney version so I was very happy to see this version had a "grungier" feel to it. Funnily enough though, I also liked: Mirror, Mirror - It didn't feel as much like Snow White as a parody on Disney's Snow White, for the most part, so... I think that may be the main reason why I enjoyed it. LOL

Man of Steel - I left the theater disappointed, but after thinking about it for a while I decided I really liked it. The plot moved so fast and there was no time for character development, but that left plenty of room for my interpretation. XD

Chronicles of Riddick - The director's cut is in my top five favorite films... That said, it isn't a stand-alone film. I went into it having watched Pitch Black, and was already invested in (and familiar with) the character. I think it would be difficult to understand Riddick's relationships with Jack/Kyra and Iman without having watched Pitch Black as they don't really explain anything about that in the Chronicles. Moreover, understanding the relationships is key, I think, to the story. And the theatrical version is just... wow... poorly edited or something... You pretty much have to watch the director's cut to understand the theatrical cut, because it's just lacking so much.

I liked the Brothers Grimm too, the special effects weren't the best around, but I still liked the movie. high five to a fellow Jar Jar lover [Edit] I noticed now that you also mentioned the Village.

I did love that movie very very much, I was totally involved in it up until

SPOILER (click to toggle) the twist where the monsters turn out to be men in costumes. That was so very very dissapointing to me. I wish the threat was realy, it would've made things so much more exciting in my opinion.
So if that spoiler did not happen the movie would've been a real winner for me.

I haven't seen Grease 2 yet, but I definitely want to check it out. The first one is a classic of course, and it's always hard to make a sequel that can live up to that.

Do check out the fourth one! It was good I thought, not as good as the other three in my opinion, but still good :).

I don't have Netflix, but I will definitely check it out when I get the chance!

I have seen both Clash of the titans and Wrath of the titans and liked them.

SPOILER (click to toggle) The only thing that bottered me was that the final fight scenes were always so darned short. It always seemed the movie was over too quickly. "Release the Kraken!" Holds head of Medusa in front of it "The end". Okay not exactly like that but it felt like that to me :D.

I see what you mean about Kristen Stewart in the Snow White and the Huntsman film. That would explain it, but I was still a bit bothered by her performance. I did however like the performance of Charlize Theron as the Queen and every single scene she was in.

I did enjoy Mirror Mirror as well lol, it was silly, but I had to laugh a lot and it made me feel happy :D.

More talk about Clash and Wrath I agree. In fact, I didn't think any of the fight scenes were particularly epic, but I liked the overall feel anyway.

Kristen Stewart never really becomes the character, instead the character is forced to become her. Good actors make you forget who they are a few moments in and you only remember their actual identities as the credits begin to roll. With the really great actors, it can take even longer than that.

There is Snow spoilers under here I thought Chris Hemsworth did well too... Although I did find the scenes where the Huntsman was supposed to be annoyed with Snow more believable than the scenes where he was supposed the be in love with her. LOL And, the scene where the Huntsman first meets the Queen... Is probably my favorite scene in the whole movie.

Also, reading some of the previous posts here: Christopher Nolan's Batman movies - I didn't mind Christian Bale in Batman Begins, but he seemed too young/naive/clean-cut/something for Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises. Still liked the movies though.

Underworld series - I'm not a fan of Underworld: Awakening at all, but the rest were great...

Grumbles and growls Without Michael, Selene seems... too vacant, which may have been the point... "Have her be in a state of shock through half the movie..." But it just didn't work for me.

THIS.

Then I'll definitely be watching it soon. Will there be a 5th movie, by chance?

It is so amazing how some actors can really become the character. I even heard of actors who did not go out of character even if the camera was not rolling anymore. They're so involved in the whole process, it's just fascinating.

Yes Chris Hemsworth did a really good job! And totally agreeing on your comment about him and Snow White lol.

And I do agree on your comment about Underworld: Awakening. But I must be honest and say that it has been a while ago since I've seen this film, I liked it then, but I should definitely rewatch it again to refresh my memory.

I checked IMDB quickly and I can not find anything about a new Underworld movie. I have not been following the rumours on these films so I'm not sure.

I'm not familliar with the animated movies you mentioned but I will look them up! :D

I read/heard a lot about the Lone Ranger movie, especially negative and mixed critisism. It has gotten a score of 31% on Rotten Tomatoes. I only saw the trailer but I do plan on seeing the movie. Some things looked pretty cool in the trailer although Johnny Depp's portrayal of that character felt a bit "Jack Sparrow" like to me. But that is only my impression of the trailer! I need to check out the entire movie! :D

so i came up with these movies. at least, overall they seem hated on more than i'd prefer. a few i have watched with others and liked them a lot whereas they were just indifferent or hatin'.

splice the jacket legend of the guardians: the owls of ga'hoole (haha) four brothers black snake moan

i was never aware that people tended to dislike war of the worlds, hook or brother bear. war of the worlds is actually on my favorites list and i enjoyed the other two as well. and i think the dislike of lone ranger comes from the fact he wasn't played really by a native american.

i love the brothers grimm! i enjoy seeing different takes on the stories.

chronicles of riddick is honestly one of my favorite movies, haha. and i watched chronicles before pitch black (and that animated thing) and completely understood it, so i'd actually insist it can be stand alone. although i also see why it's probably better to see them in order.

everyone gives me such flack for this yet i feel the need to state i dislike batman in general, gahah. and i may have went into watching the newer movies with a bias however i did enjoy dark knight (simply because heath ledger's acting, probably).

i didn't dislike remember me (i mean, it wasn't anything astounding but it wasn't that bad~)

I saw the Lone Ranger in theaters with my mom... My mom, who was familiar with the TV show, said the movie had some of the elements from the show but not very many, so I imagine people who liked the TV show would be a little put off by that.

-pokes- Spoiler here. My biggest issue with it was "Old Man Tonto"... Old Man Tonto was creepy. That said, I liked the rest of the movie. Grown Man Tonto was pretty cool. They also added some scenes of Young Tonto, which I didn't mind as they added something to the story.

I have talked to people who didn't like it solely because they didn't understand certain elements that had been explained in Pitch Black. I've also had people, who didn't like the theatrical version, tell me they liked the Director's Cut after I suggested they watch it. As far as I am concerned, Chronicles of Riddick benefits from familiarity with the other movie(s) and for that reason I don't really consider it a stand-alone film. That's not to say that it can't be enjoyed for its own merits.

I could list several characters, from TV shows and movies, that don't appeal to me personally but have plenty of fans. (I'm looking at you, Disney Snow White. You too, Rocky Balboa.) I am curious as to what you don't like about Batman, since he's one of favorite characters... -nods-

that's too bad they couldn't have my comprehension skills!! now i kinda want to rewatch chronicles of riddick

(aight no one take take this personally but since it was asked!!) so to me batman is just some rich dude (who doesn't seem to care he's wealthy even though that's how he manages his ethics?/) with a corporation and an affinity for dealing with his emotions in unhealthy ways. like he owns amazing equipment but only uses it to mess with street crime just around the corner. and he is forever trying to ~avenge the death of his folks over and over and over and oveRRRRR. batman seems to enjoy his power game which kinda bores me, i guess. although it is a comicbook superhero in a fictional city, right? so i can't expect too much?? his giving people second chances is also a negative for me, hahaa. i just don't really dig his groove!! though to be fair i'm not large on comics or superheroes in the first place
