Yeah Binx, love you too. I'm turning my phone off tomorrow morning. Dx

Well, with that thought, I think we should go ahead and start. If anyone so happens to come along in a little while, then that's just splendid. But I really don't see much point in just sitting here and waiting... shrugs

Unless anyone just wants to put their feet down, I say go ahead and start. Soo... until someone stops me, I'll be off writing my intro. Feel free to beat me to the point of posting first, though. ;P

Dx Edit: I think I said some things about where they should be when you post your intro in the first post, right under the plot, but as a quick reminded they should've just arrived at the hospital.

Eura was led around to different rooms all day. They checked her heart rate, took some blood samples and examined her animal appendages. They scanned her wings using an x-ray machine as well. Light, strong bones showed up on the projector. Eura couldn't help but feel proud them. The nurse gave her some vaccine shots earlier, to prevent recent widespread diseases taking over her body. Then she tested her keen ears. Eura could still remember the high pitched sounds that were almost too much for her. Thankfully, the nurse stopped the device as soon as it started. She was led into another room where they gave reflex tests. Eura smirked. That had been the easiest one all day. On her tenth try at pressing a button when a light flashed, the nurse quietly whispered to her. "Okay, you're done for today. I'll lead you to your room with the others." The others? Oh right. There were other hybrids here. Eura nodded, fixing her gaze on the nurse. "Lead the way."

It was very strange, being outside of the lab for once, and for so long at that. The teenage test subject wasn’t all that sure what time it was, or how long they’d been away from the lab now, but he was fairly sure it had already been at least a few hours. But his sense of time could sometimes be as good as his vision; zip. Truthfully, this place was almost as strange as the labs they used to be kept in. It smelled the same to him, in most ways; sicknesses, cleaning supplies, some chemicals, and cotton swabs. Actually, it was sort of unnerving, since on top of this the teenager had never been there before. Of course, it wasn’t like he was wondering around on his own; for the last hour or so he’d been lead around by a nurse, getting the sort of check-up a pediatrician might give you. Though, something inside him wondered if he was getting the tour-style walk around like all the rest, or simply because he was blind. People; thought he couldn’t make his way around somewhere just because he was blind, jeez… even though there was a bit of a point there. Guess it was better than walking around like an idiot lost in a pitch-dark mansion that could lead to who-knows-where. Despite the fact that with a little guide making sure he went the right way, Shikou strolled behind them in a slightly slower gate, a patient habit of his. Shikou acted a lot like one could assume he would; on alert with the rest of his senses. He was listening to all the voices with his radar-like ears, letting the sensitive feather on his tail drag down the smooth tile floors, and he’d been aware of the hospital-like smell ever since their misfit-group arrived here. Blindness didn’t seem to stop his curiosity, especially since he was so paranoid about these types of places… labs, hospitals, doctor’s offices. He probably always would be, too, because of the time he spent with the scientists back at the lab, living there with all the others and being treated like ‘just another experiment’. It was enough to mentally scar any little kid who had to grow up in those surroundings.

”You don’t seem very sick, so that’s good,” came the small voice of the nurse. Shikou felt a little bad for her; she probably didn’t sign up to work with kids from the freak-show. “Almost all the rest of your… friends are done with their checkups too, I think, if you want to wait for them near the front of the wing…”

Shikou blinked, glancing in the direction the nurse’s voice came from, a habit he had developed, since most people felt better when you were ‘looking’ at them while you spoke. He sort of nodded, bright hair falling in his face as he did so, and stopped walking when he heard her footsteps pause, guessing they were back near the place they started. It was like a waiting room, or something of the sort, he guessed – because it was a lot more open the halls, and there’d been a small desk at one side of it. The only reason why he knew that, though, was because he’d rather painfully ran into the edge of it earlier. “I think I will… uh, thanks,” Shikou responded to the nurse, not any more comfortable around her presence as she was around his. Really, it was just weird; being around normal people. Even though it had been some years since he was actually able to see the differences, he could just tell. There was a different air to humans, compared to the aura of the weirdoes like himself. And though he was sure the looked a lot different, they smelled a lot different, too. No matter how you ‘looked’ at it, they were always going to be different. Musing over this as he waited, Shikou found the wall (without running into it, amazingly), and perched himself against it while he listened for any signs of the others.

Though being around other humans was much odder, he realized they probably didn’t know each other all that well, either. Back at the labs they had their own cells to live in, and only saw each other while passing through the halls, or when they had ‘social tests’. And those weren’t always on the most friendly basis…

[ Everybody loves fillers. xD And, I type a bit mooore than I wanted to. O-o ]

Nathan ducked his head, stooping over as much as he could to fit through the doorway. These people in uniforms and white coats and cameras had come to their 'home'. The scientists were taken away and all of the experiments herded into white vans that drove off and now they were at a new place. It smelt like the labs but looked much brighter, forcing him to blink a few times for his eyes to adjust. The cold air rose goose flesh on his skin too but he refused to put a shirt back on. All they had were nasty tight things that would mess with his scales and he was perfectly fine wandering around in his cargo shorts thank you very much.

Everyone had been separated and taken by different people for check-ups and to learn the layout of their temporary home. Most of the check-up had gone well, he was a bit heavier because of his muscle and they had to use a step ladder to measure him. Blood pressure was normal and they were a bit concerned about his low temperature but just scribbled it all in their little files. Sadly they approached him with needled - how could they know of his severe dislike? - and he'd nearly bitten a nurse when she'd tried to take his blood for a test.

The person leading him was male and seemed unnerved about the way Nathan towered over him. Comparing the doctor to the others he seemed tall for someone normal. The snake-mutant wasn't appreciating his own height very much either. At least at the labs the halls were tall enough for him to stand; he was sure to get back problems with all this stooping he had to do.

"Please wait in here... the others should be back shortly and someone else will be here to take you to the rooms," the door was pushed open and the teen sighed as he was forced to stoop, again. There were two others in the room, male and female. He had seen them around before but didn't really know their names. The door closed with a click behind him and Nathan blinked lazily. The chairs looked uncomfortable but there were a few windows that let sunlight in. With a small smile he settle on the floor, belly down, and stretched out in a patch of sun with a content hiss. Nice, very nice.

"Show us, how much light can you stand?" A nurse asked, gripping a brown clipboard in her hand as she stared at the girl sitting in front of her on a table. "We will shine a bright light into this room. See how long you can stay in here without getting a headache or another symptom that you have to stop. Then press this button." The lady told the girl kindly, then stepped out of the room.

The girl sighed and unfolded her large, leathery black wings. Soon the light would come on, and they would be testing how long she could stay in the light. Wasn't it obvious that she wouldn't last long? She had bat DNA in her for crying out loud; how stupid could these nurses be?

Though, they were better than the scientists.

Suddenly bright light filled the room. Natalie squinted slightly against it, but was able to stand it. Then the light got brighter, brighter, and brighter, until the girl couldn't stand it anymore. She slammed her first down on the button, turning the light off and successfully breaking the button in the process.

The nurse re-entered the room, took the girl's hand, then smiled. "Thank you. Let's have you wait with the others now." The nurse led Natalie down some corridors, then opened the door to a room. The nurse gently pushed her in, smiled, then assured her that everything was okay.

They watched, they wrote, and they spoke. A woman and two men, the man was a nurse, judging by his clothing and how he seemed to allow them to order him with a few things. Allen was already on lap 45, and did not stop. An image of a Tuna entered his mind. Those little guys never stopped, they kept on swimming, and when they did stop, they died. Allen slowed down and stopped, the people mumbled something and the man slipped a live fish in the salt water pool. He silently swam next to the fish and lazily nudged it with his foot. The fish, in stupid fear, swam away. The people exchanged looks and sent a metal shaped rod into the pool. Allen curiously circled it before stopping dead in his tracks. The electrical current was enough to paralyze him but it was too much for the fish. It gave it's last few thoughts of a forgotten life and sunk up into the air. The rod was turned off and the nurse waded through the pool and picked up the younger male. Allen could smell a spicy musk coming from the male nurse, it was artificial and somewhat canned. The woman pushed a wheelchair into view and waiting for the nurse to put him in. She smelt rather nicely, like those cherry sweets he would have from time to time. As Allen was placed onto the chair, The other male doctor placed a rather long, damp towel over the younger shark human. They had yet to understand that Allen could walk on land without water, but they were new. He couldn't blame them, through. "Allen," the woman replied as she wheeled the chair, "how was your laps?" He replied with a shrug, and the woman smiled. She was the assigned therapist to him, she was to study his behavior, which he again, did not care. Her name was Ms. Elizabeth Angulius, young, single and married to her work. While his teeth were not studied or he was not in any sort of test or needles, she was there, coaxing him to tell her a few things he understood and what he felt. He was surprised she was still there. "Allen, if you are not hungry, I will take you to your room". "Sure..."

OoC;;

Aw. I'm sorry Binx. xD I'm a very joking kinda person...

Ic;;

A snarl ripped through the room, and golden eyes flickered back into their pale white.

"That's enough, Alexander." A doctor said, hands up defensively. He looked down, carefully, at the needle on the floor. "It's not a tranquilizer, I promise."

The large, maned wolf rolled his eyes intelligently. How many times had he heard that before? His thick mane bristled, and he stood with his head low, teeth bared. It was strikingly similar to the actual animal, had it not been for the fact that his head reached 6'6, a familiar size to the normal form he usually held.

"It might help your anxiety attacks..." He said, a bit more quietly, voice wavering just slightly. These guys didn't seem to be used to the huge Fenrir of a beast. Ace growled in warning once more, taking a half step back, the bristling fur flattening slowly. The doctor slowly picked up the needle, holding it out so it was in plain view. "It's better than taking pills every day." The man said with a slight smile.

Grudgedly, the long legged wolf advanced, placing a paw forward, head still low. His eyes narrowed, giving him a threatening look. One slip up... he thought, in warning. It was useless however, he knew the man couldn't hear him.

"Good...I promise it won't hurt." He said, taking the needle with one hand, and gently moving his hand to the animal's shoulder, working carefully as he gradually slipped the clear liquid into his system. Maybe it was the way he spoke to him, or just his good persuasion skills, that allowed Ace to believe him. They were different from the scientists in the lab, much different. They spoke almost as if they had hearts. He winced slightly as the needle pulled out of him, and took a step back, closing his eyes momentarily in concentration as a young man replaced his form.

The doctor blinked once, before nodding to the boy's clothes on the floor.

He was clad in a track jacket, black and fitted around his muscular torso. Underneath was a grey t-shirt. Jeans wrapped around his legs, slightly distressed. And simple, black converse on his feet. It was the few years of being with a family of wealth that didn't allow him to dress sloppy. It was almost branded into his system, yet he couldn't really dress in much anyways. It would be rather inconvenient having to jump out of them before shifting. At the lab, scientists had made him a set of clothes that would in fact change with him, but he refused to wear it. It was just much too tight and fitted. And it made him feel like an idiot, really.

Ace ran a hand through his hair once, before looking up to see a tense nurse at the doctor's side, hands behind her back. When she noticed him gazing at her, however, she quickly slipped them in front. He held back a smirk; poor lady. He musta' scared her with his earlier show. If you could tell, Ace often got paranoid of things like injections. He needed to know at least something about the waste going into him before subjecting. This usually just resulted in him being tranquilized before stuck with a needle, though.

"This is Nurse Gannon. She will lead you back to the room with your...friends." He said, looking at him for a reaction. Ace flicked his gaze back to the nurse, who stood patiently.

"Alright." He said, shoving his hands in his pockets. "Let's go."

She smiled slightly, still a little taken aback by the mutant before her. "Right this way, please." Alexander followed suit, walking behind her steadily, eyes focused ahead. Everything was always the same. White walls, plain rooms, and steel elevators...what was there to look at anymore? He shuffled the feathered wings behind him once, keeping them pinned back. His usual stern face had faded, calm and serene as he passed through corridors until being brought into a sort of waiting room.

"Here we are..." She said, nodding towards the door. Ace looked at it a moment, listening to the life behind the door, ears perking just slightly. He gave her a brief nod, before walking, a slight scowl on his face. Plain walls, dark carpet, and lemon scented.

All the same.

These were familiar faces, but he hardly paid attention to the faces in that lab. He was far too busy with a nightmare he wouldn't wake up from. And the haunting face of his childhood, his other half: Elise.

Now, he felt a little uncomfortable, and began to feel his heart rise. An attack? he thought, sitting down in the corner of the room, plopping in a chair. He managed to calm himself before he started breathing heavily and sighed, closing his pale eyes, black lids sealing them shut. He had been warned time and time again not to think of those triggers. Those...memories that would lead him to only writhing on the floor. Not again, he thought, and opened his eyes. After he collected himself, he relaxed, leaning back into his chair.

Nathan blinked lazily on the floor. The others were slowly trickling in from their testing and prodding - another female, another male and soft vibrations from down the halls that may be another. From his count nearly everyone from the labs was here and the others were probably on their way. The slightly forked tongue flicked out a few times as he tasted the air, light scents from each of his... companions?... that gave away what and where they were.

The floor was starting to get cold under his belly and the light filtering in didn't offer enough heat. Right now the only thing he missed from the labs was he giant heat lamp... maybe he could sneak onto the roof later? Nathan yawned again as he stretched, arms reaching towards the ceiling and fingertips almost reaching - finally a place tall enough for him in this place. Near black eyes flickering around taking in the different looks of those around him. Looked like no one was going to talk soon and that was fine with him. He moved to the second sun patch near the corner of the room and settled down again. Warmer but not warm enough, he was going to fall asleep.

Eura was lead into a room with other mutants inside. The nurse smiled at her and left. She plopped herself down on a chair and eyed the others. There was cobra who placed himself directly under a patch of sunshine, a red elk, a bat, some kind of…fish?, and a mutant who seemed like he was a cross between a wolf, a raccoon, and some kind raven. Eura couldn't tell what they were exactly. She was practically blind during the day. But she could smell them. No one was talking. Silence filled the room. Hmm, maybe they were also checked by the nurses. The hybrid eagle owl thought. She brushed some dust off her wings and folded them. Eura dropped her head in her hands. In the first place, she didn’t even know why she was here. Eura was just on her own at the orphanage, when some mysterious doctors took her away. The past few days were a blur to her. She looked up once again. No one was speaking. Time to make some friends, she thought. “Hey,” She addressed to no one in particular, “I’m Eura. Eagle owl.”

Nathan's eyes flickered up, the girl in shorts and a tank top had squeaked some sort of apology for something and another winged person entered the room. He stretched against the floor, yawning again. He needed some proper light to keep him awake and war him up... stupid cold blood. Ah, someone finally spoke, the girl who had just walked in. He liked silence pretty well but this was an awkward one that filled the tense air uncomfortably.

"Nathaniel," he answered, lifting himself onto his elbows and looking over his shoulder at her. "Monocled king cobra." Hopefully others would follow suit. They had all met one time or another during social tests at the lab but he sure didn;t remember anyone's name.

Blinking his neon green eyes at the noise of other’s footsteps entered his ears; Shikou listened as others came in steadily. He had never been sure exactly who and how many there were other than him, because in the lab there was often times too many noises for him to concentrate, and too many smells for him to pick many individuals out. But now, it was quiet in the room, and the scent of the others was a lot more defined, making it much easier for him to pick one hybrid from another. There were probably around six in the room now, or somewhere near that, he guessed. Shikou took in a long breath, musing over the different sort of creature’s smells there were. He could pick out a few that were much more bold and clear; a bat, a snake of some sort, and… something like a deer? There was also a bit of canine and bird mixed in somewhere, but he guessed it must be someone like him, who had had their DNA tampered with more than once. Disturbed at the thoughts that stirred with that, he tried to push them aside, and reached up to rub the remains of is antlers.

It wasn’t long after he heard someone murmur an apology that someone else spoke up, much louder, and his bright green eyes drifted off in the direction of the voice, though his aim was off noticeably. They’re introducing their selves… he thought after another followed them with their name, and seemingly species. Dark gray ears inclining forwards with curiosity as the others spoke, he glanced back down at the floor, listening to the others and trying to commit the voices to memory, connected with the species. Though most normal people used a combination of looks, voice, and aura, he mostly depended on the last two, along with scent – so, that was something important for him when it came to remembering people. By the sound of their voices, the first had been a girl, and the second… a boy, the snake he had smelt earlier.

Guessing he should introduce himself too, he gazed out in front of him blankly; a little awkward since he really couldn’t ‘look’ at any of these people he was talking to. “Shikou…” he introduced, then sort of paused. It never really came to his mind that he didn’t exactly know what he was. The last time he could really look at himself had been many years ago, and he knew he’d had lots more injected into him, and added to him. He was just one heck of a hybrid, if he had to guess. “I’m just… well, a mutt,” he continued, the best he could really say for that. In truth, he could’ve been a monster, and not have known it – they could’ve, too. And to top things off, he didn’t even know if his hair color, or eye color, had changed… though he thought it might’ve, after overhearing one of the scientist’s conversations some years ago.

Allen said nothing , waiting for the others to say what they say. He was slowly getting back feeling. Ms. Elizabeth left him here, to what? Talk to people like him? That was plain sappy and stupid at the same time. Here these kids were, telling their names and such, like they all were going to be the best of friends. 'Yeah right'. Once the person who owns this place gets the 'Ok', they would be used as weapons and such. Now that was sad. He felt more human as he simply looked at the others. He waited until this other chick stated what she was. He wished he stayed a little longer at the pool, rather then be here with these people. At least then he would not have to talk. He ignored their smells, they were not all it cracked up to be, being that they all used the same soap and such as he did, he guessed that having different smells would not be a good idea. Now that he thought of it, they smelt like the whole building. "Allen, White shark," he simply replied as he kept his teeth from moving or the damp blanket that covered his white issued attire. He hated the choice the scientists gave them to look 'normal'. 'Sure, clothes will draw people's attention, not the wings and such'

Alex looked to the mutants who were beginning to converse, pain coursing through his eyes again as he felt the race of his heartbeat, roaring in his ears. His hand slipped into his pocket, clutching the inhaler tightly. However, when he heard the small groaning of strained material, he released his iron grip. The last thing he needed was to accidentally break it. He narrowed his eyes slightly.

Whenever he managed to calm down an anxiety attack, there always seemed to be a sort of aftershock to it that wasn't triggered at all. He tensed in his seat again, striped tail swishing.

"I'm Ace." He said, in desperate need of a distraction. He quirked a half-smile, strained. His claws dug into the fabric of the arm rests with an uncomfortable ripping sound. "Maned wolf, Raccoon, and Australian Raven." He said, voice rough. Sure enough, he felt his heart slow, and his muscles uncoil again. He removed his claw-like nails from the gashes in the arms that went down to the wooden frame and smiled grimly. "Sorry; anxiety attack." He breathed, almost a little embarrassed. He flicked his ears back a moment.

The spot was already cold and Nathan had the urge to pout. He was getting hungry too. How long until someone came to get them? Sure he had been showed the general area of the cafeteria but he was sure they didn't want them there. His trained his dark eyes on each person as they introduced themselves and tried to memorize the faces to the names. Knowing his crappy memory however it would take a few days to get them all right.

The lanky snake boy shifted into a sitting position, long legs sprawled out in front of him and hands supporting him as he leaned back. The paleness of his torso and neck were deeply contrasting with his arms and legs as the brightly lit room showed. He'd noticed it before but not as much since the labs were so dark half the time. Nathan's tongue flicked out a few more times to taste/smell the stale air.
