Have the staff indeed denied an owl pet?

- They didn't DENY it, but I think they didn't manifest themselves about the idea, probably because it's too trivial to ask for a pet species/color when you know they have tons of server issues, CWs to deny/approve and items to revamp. I posted those because if they denied it, that'd be some of the main reasons (aside the obvious - servers, items, etc).

And yes, of sixty-seven species (without counting experiments) we have four bird species: Fester (vulture), Lain (pidgeon and alikes), Mallarchy (duck) and Cybill (penguin). BUT, while a big number, we could have an owl pet. It's not as numerous as the dragon species (six, four if we count Cadogres and Endeavors).

Ooh, I heart this idea. Owls are so cute and I think they'd adapt well to the existing colors.

I think that, despite their other issues with the site, I think they could introduce a new species. The newest pet introduced is the Xotl, and they introduced the Nostalgic pet color only last year. However, they also need something new - either a new color or a new pet - as IMO it's been quite a while since they introduced a new one.

That is a good point as well. Plus, look at how popular the idea of an owl pet is - and how many Harry Potter fans there are on the site. If Subeta itself already has a multitude of on-site owl items and CWs, as well as Harry Potter tributes [which are quite expensive, I might add], why not also add an owl pet? I'm sure it'd be an instant hit with most Subetans.

- Come to think, I believe staff turn a blind eye to many pet suggestions because they like to concentrate on pets that weren't made yet, and people suggest something that is either not "suitable" (for more that I love the idea, sponge pets are only suitable as experiment) or "done before". They'd rather do something they did NOT do than insist on an idea done at least once - notice that the Xotl is the sole frog species and Chelon is the only turtle, and it's hinted it's going to stay that way. Sure, there's no owl pet in Subeta, but again, four species of birds already. Also, if a species is taken as a "default" for fan pets or a given concept, it's fine as it is for them. I really hate both Hikeis and Legeicas, but they're not going to create a cute pony/more realistic horse/qilin or unicorn-based species because I complain about them.

BUT, still, Lains are not owls. Festers are not owls. Mallachies are not owls. Cybills are not owls. I really hope they consider the owl pet. It's not just about being an instant hit, it has to be enough unique, which owls already are in their natural look. To add, I don't think a plot would be necessary. Yeah, we had the Blake Steele plot to release Bhakorus and revamp Saherimos, but Xotls weren't released as part of anything (I think). Also, many here seem to like owls, so why not, indeed?

I'd be all for it! It'd be really great to see what kind of designs they could incorporate for the rarer colors, too. :D
