It is with much enthusiasm that reborn paralixes celebrate Fireside, which is exactly why we keep fire extinguishers on hand at all times.

The only things that really bothers me is the flame and the way its butt sticks up in the air. The rest is very well done!

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

looks like it's hanging from an invisible string or something. >.< I don't much care for it and I was going to get a reborn paralix for my 11th slot.

I love the coloring, but the pose isn't up to par with what I've seen artists do. It also seems sort of crammed in one space... or suffering from what everyone else is calling "the catapult" effect.

Blank as in it's clearly caught sight of something and is paying attention to it, but I just don't see much in the way of attitude there - and the Paralix is a species that should have scads of attitude. Really, though, the biggest thing I miss is the dynamic and fluid pose of the old art.

.. Blank? The eyes are somewhat wide open, suggesting alertness, with the brow slightly furrowed, which gives me the arrogant and critical feel associated with the Reborn colour.

If it were catapaulted with great force, and were not in control of its own limbs, would the tip of the tail be curved in that relaxed manner? Wouldn't all the legs be splayed outwards in surprise, and in anticipation of landing somewhere at some point?

Just looks to me as though the Paralix is more than in control of its own movement.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

is it attempting to dive? or randomly falling on it's face off something? -confused-

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

It really looks like it's hanging in midair by its butt :c ...I dislike it.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Please change it back. This one looks like it's just hanging in the air. It's better art, but the 'feel' of it was a lot better before--much more dynamic.

And maybe the catapulted thing is because it's just kind of limply there, and it doesn't have near the fluidity of the old design or even of the regular revamped pose! maybe it's just the way the back mane is drawn, but it looks like the spine is kinked awkwardly, and doesn't have the same kind of flexibility that a Paralix is supposed to. I'd like to see a nicer curve to the back, some acknowledgment in the pose of whether it's supposed to be chasing the flame or breathing it menacingly or what, and a less blank expression.

Then why is it looking away from the flames, instead of watching what it's chasing?

I will repeat my earlier comment about the current reborn revamps being very tasteful, and following the old pets, which is greatly appreciated - unlike what was done with my poor keeto.

Artwork on this is wonderful - but the pose makes it look like it is hanging from something rather than coiled, with tense muscles. And it does kinda look like it's smiling...odd

I think the recurring catapault comment is more than likely the result of one person making the comment, and then the entire mickey mouse club jumping aboard the bandwagon. Not that I'm surprised by such behaviour on Subeta, these days. xD Subeta = Sheepbeta. At least Leanne will be pleased by that. xD

And to clear up the confusion some people seem to be suffering; PET DRAWING DUTIES ARE DOLED OUT BY SPECIES, NOT COLOUR. An artist applies/auditions for a pre-existing, unassigned species, and if chosen, is responsible for drawing that species in ALL poses. It's artist+species, not artist+colour.

As such, some species are given less attention, due to their assigned artist's pre-existing on-site workload, or as a result of their other non-Subeta responsabilities and general real life STUFF. Some staff artists are responsible for one or two species, and some are responsible for 6 or more! Pets take a LOT of time to draw, especially given the rigorous behind-the-scenes critique process.

And some species actually curently do not even have an assigned artist to look after them at this point in time, because their previous caretaker may have had to stop working for the site for various reasons, or because the species is currently in the process of re-assignment/auditions/trials.

Anyway. Whatever. Baaa. jumpsoverfences

I like the shading, and the fire looks nice, but... it kind of looks like someone has it by the hindquarters and it's dangling limply... almost like it's dead. And I miss the toothy expression of the previous reborn paralix.

What? So suddenly just because people are offering critiques, the majority being rather civil about it I might add, it's being interpreted as we don't think they're human? I'm sorry, but that does not seem right.

It is amazing how many people post crap like this. Get a clue...every time you post about a revamp YOU want instead of the pet that was revamped/drawn, the artist for your pet might cross that off the list of things to do cause you can't get your head out your rear and keep on the topic of this revamp. MAYBE THERE ISN'T A CURRENT ARTIST for that pet, maybe that was next...well it probably isn't next now. And for that, I am sure everyone who was waiting on that revamp thanks you

All and all I think that it's a very nice redraw - I think that this would look really cool if the image were rotated so that the head was 90 degrees clockwise - it would give the impression that the paralix was springing rather than hanging.

I'm going to be changing my reborn paralix. Kind of sad about it since the old design is what made me originally check out Subeta. The back looks like it's has a chunk cut out and on the face the nose looks off and is too masculine for my taste. Oh well, I've been really enjoying most of the revamps but you can't win them all.

I really love the art, it is simply amazing - how it is shaded. But the pose looks a little uncomfortable. Like someone is holding it just in front of the hindlegs and it is hanging. It is rather heavy, instead of like it is floating - like it does in the old image. All in all, I still love it and can totally overlook these things. Way to go, artists! The revamps are still totally awesome.

Like perhaps;

The head looks so off compared to the size of the body, and the gaze of the eyes look painful-- I know if I did that my eyes would ache. It's not really natural. Also, the mouth's line shading is 20x darker than on any other paralix, almost as if he has no teeth and only gums.

No offense, but this revamp makes me quite sad.
