It is with much enthusiasm that reborn paralixes celebrate Fireside, which is exactly why we keep fire extinguishers on hand at all times.

looks like it's hanging from an invisible string or something. >.< I don't much care for it and I was going to get a reborn paralix for my 11th slot.
I love the coloring, but the pose isn't up to par with what I've seen artists do. It also seems sort of crammed in one space... or suffering from what everyone else is calling "the catapult" effect.
Ya... a little too friendly... like everyone says... I was looking forward to it... but it's a disappointment. Sorry.
Blank as in it's clearly caught sight of something and is paying attention to it, but I just don't see much in the way of attitude there - and the Paralix is a species that should have scads of attitude. Really, though, the biggest thing I miss is the dynamic and fluid pose of the old art. ![]()
.. Blank? The eyes are somewhat wide open, suggesting alertness, with the brow slightly furrowed, which gives me the arrogant and critical feel associated with the Reborn colour.
If it were catapaulted with great force, and were not in control of its own limbs, would the tip of the tail be curved in that relaxed manner? Wouldn't all the legs be splayed outwards in surprise, and in anticipation of landing somewhere at some point?
Just looks to me as though the Paralix is more than in control of its own movement.
is it attempting to dive? or randomly falling on it's face off something? -confused-
It really looks like it's hanging in midair by its butt :c ...I dislike it.
Please change it back. This one looks like it's just hanging in the air. It's better art, but the 'feel' of it was a lot better before--much more dynamic.
Wtf? Why does Subeta randomly remove the word e x pression?
Less blank EXPRESSION. I have no idea how I ended up deleting the last word.
And maybe the catapulted thing is because it's just kind of limply there, and it doesn't have near the fluidity of the old design or even of the regular revamped pose! maybe it's just the way the back mane is drawn, but it looks like the spine is kinked awkwardly, and doesn't have the same kind of flexibility that a Paralix is supposed to. I'd like to see a nicer curve to the back, some acknowledgment in the pose of whether it's supposed to be chasing the flame or breathing it menacingly or what, and a less blank expression.
So pretty. o:

Zanse looks nice now (:
The only thing I have to say/complain about is how it does look like it's dangling rather than being coiled in the air. It's mouth does bug me a bit but it looks good all in all.
Awe you cant be serious :c I really loved the old one. Dont get me wrong this was is really pretty but something about the old one still gets me...
It's ok, but the face really bugs me. I preferred the other one, since it looks more furious. I'm more than likely changing Horyuu into a reborn Rreign.
I don't see anything wrong with the pose. o-0 But I have to agree with Absinthe, I miss its facial expression.
The old one was way sexier. ![]()
Wow. And I thought the other previous revamps were good. What a beautiful creature this is...! Although I have to agree with the people who are saying that they expected it to have a fiercer expression on its face. xD; Oh well, I don't mind it too much. Great job to whoever revamped the Reborn Paralix!
Oops, that was to be facial expression!
Personally, I like its facial expression - to me, he seems a bit mischievous! I love the new colors and the detail is exceptional - I wish that I could draw a fraction as well.
wow. I shall have to rephrase, since apparently filters are filtering some very strange stuff...
I miss the toothy... "grin" I guess I have to say. Hopefully THAT doesn't get filtered.
Another reborn creature...the mouth is kind of...whoopy to me.
I will repeat my earlier comment about the current reborn revamps being very tasteful, and following the old pets, which is greatly appreciated - unlike what was done with my poor keeto.
Artwork on this is wonderful - but the pose makes it look like it is hanging from something rather than coiled, with tense muscles. And it does kinda look like it's smiling...odd
*toothy expression, I meant to say.
shrug
Maybe the catapaulted look was the actual aim? I don't see it, myself. Looks like the Paralix is chasing the littl ball of flame that it's breathing out, much like a cat chases its own tail. xD
I think the recurring catapault comment is more than likely the result of one person making the comment, and then the entire mickey mouse club jumping aboard the bandwagon. Not that I'm surprised by such behaviour on Subeta, these days. xD Subeta = Sheepbeta. At least Leanne will be pleased by that. xD ![]()
And to clear up the confusion some people seem to be suffering; PET DRAWING DUTIES ARE DOLED OUT BY SPECIES, NOT COLOUR. An artist applies/auditions for a pre-existing, unassigned species, and if chosen, is responsible for drawing that species in ALL poses. It's artist+species, not artist+colour.
As such, some species are given less attention, due to their assigned artist's pre-existing on-site workload, or as a result of their other non-Subeta responsabilities and general real life STUFF. Some staff artists are responsible for one or two species, and some are responsible for 6 or more! Pets take a LOT of time to draw, especially given the rigorous behind-the-scenes critique process.
And some species actually curently do not even have an assigned artist to look after them at this point in time, because their previous caretaker may have had to stop working for the site for various reasons, or because the species is currently in the process of re-assignment/auditions/trials.
Anyway. Whatever. Baaa. jumpsoverfences
I like the shading, and the fire looks nice, but... it kind of looks like someone has it by the hindquarters and it's dangling limply... almost like it's dead. And I miss the toothy expression of the previous reborn paralix.

What? So suddenly just because people are offering critiques, the majority being rather civil about it I might add, it's being interpreted as we don't think they're human? I'm sorry, but that does not seem right. ![]()
Wow, I really like this. I don't get the complaints--I think the artist did a great job. O: I love the flames, especially. So elegant~~
Absolutely beautiful! I love the pose and the way the fire curls up its back. Wonderfully drawn.
I think it's gorgeous and I love the colors!
I wish I had a paralix that would fit being reborn, but I want to make Cringe either graveyard or nightmare.. XD;
And I feel bad for the artists here, being treated as if they aren't human and have no feelings... e__e;
I love this revamp, and to everyone who is complaining about not getting the pets THEY want revamped, just be patient. Jeez, it's not gonna kill you if the pet isn't revamped right away.
"Could someone PLEASE revamp something that actually NEEDS it..."
It is amazing how many people post crap like this. Get a clue...every time you post about a revamp YOU want instead of the pet that was revamped/drawn, the artist for your pet might cross that off the list of things to do cause you can't get your head out your rear and keep on the topic of this revamp. MAYBE THERE ISN'T A CURRENT ARTIST for that pet, maybe that was next...well it probably isn't next now. And for that, I am sure everyone who was waiting on that revamp thanks you ![]()
Some of you guys begging for new pets or revamps are being pretty rude. It's just going to make the artists NOT want to do them at all.
All and all I think that it's a very nice redraw - I think that this would look really cool if the image were rotated so that the head was 90 degrees clockwise - it would give the impression that the paralix was springing rather than hanging.
D; Ew, my quotes failed.
Ohhbawww it got revamped now everyone's gonna complainnnn. I did like the old one but this one is just as nice, good job~![]()
[quoteIf you don't like the new version of the pet, then you can always use the old picture as an overlay. [/quote] Doesn't mean we can't give our critique and criticism and BAWWWWWWWWW about this, though. ;3
God, whoever is drawing all the new Reborn pets - I love you! They all look incredible, and although I liked the old Paralix, I love this one even more! Kudos!
Half cool, half ugly. :3
If you don't like the new version of the pet, then you can always use the old picture as an overlay.
Oooo, another "dragon" type to celebrate!
I'm going to be changing my reborn paralix. Kind of sad about it since the old design is what made me originally check out Subeta. The back looks like it's has a chunk cut out and on the face the nose looks off and is too masculine for my taste. Oh well, I've been really enjoying most of the revamps but you can't win them all.
Haha, I never actually noticed that their horns are ...pronged like that.
I actually really liked this revamp. While I agree that there are other pets that could use a revamp more (or just be drawn at all, really), I don't see what all the fuss is about this one.
I really like it.
Thanks for posting the old one, BaddakuTachi.
I really love the art, it is simply amazing - how it is shaded. But the pose looks a little uncomfortable. Like someone is holding it just in front of the hindlegs and it is hanging. It is rather heavy, instead of like it is floating - like it does in the old image. All in all, I still love it and can totally overlook these things. Way to go, artists! The revamps are still totally awesome.
The flames, shading and detail work are a vast improvement. The posture IS kinda weird (he does look like he got catapulted or kicked in the butt & is flying).
Oh YES! I was hoping a revamp would come out soon! OMG it's so beautiful! loves her pet Salamando even more now
Could someone PLEASE revamp something that actually NEEDS it...
Like perhaps;

The head looks so off compared to the size of the body, and the gaze of the eyes look painful-- I know if I did that my eyes would ache. It's not really natural. Also, the mouth's line shading is 20x darker than on any other paralix, almost as if he has no teeth and only gums.
No offense, but this revamp makes me quite sad.
The only things that really bothers me is the flame and the way its butt sticks up in the air. The rest is very well done!
