Pft. The Malticorn is a VAST improvement on the old. It's in keeping with the dead/zombie/rotting theme that Graveyard is SUPPOSED to be, it's a dynamic pose, and a suitable facial expression. It's also in keeping with the STRICT colour-specific guidelines for Graveyard.
Gorgeous colouring on both these imaginative critters.

I do appreciate the artist's work on the Malticorn, but of course I must put in my opinion;
I adored the dark, dirty look of the previous Malticorn. It gave a sinister, dark feeling. Sure it could have used a little decay, but the devious, dark intent of it's look gave it an edge of devilish intent.
The Chelon is my favorite, I love the cola rings on it's tail. Don't litter, people! Look what you did! XD
The graveyard malticorn wasn't just updated like the spectrum keeto because a sickly green color and a bit of dirt don't make a graveyard pet.
As for why we're revamping old pets instead of releasing new colors, this isn't anything new. I do have several new colors to release this month as well. However, when a species in revamped, there is higher priority on getting its old images updated than there is on making new colors available. No matter what we do first, someone will still complain. This is how we do things, though.
Ikagerou, I don't draw the tigrean or the celinox, I'm afraid, so I can't really draw them in new colours! Also, it's the month of October, and we've been told to only draw Graveyard and Nightmare pets 
So spectrum and angelic are on hold for a while!
And us subeta artists keep revamping pets because they are either very old and they don't match a) the colour palettes or b) the revamp of the common version. The Malticorn just got revamped, so I revamped the very outdated GY version to match it, whilst trying to keep core elements of the pet (double horns, facial expression, lack of guts and huge wounds). But the colours on it weren't palette colours, and they made little sense in their placement. (Dark body with light patches in random places instead of a lighter body with darker hair/spots)
To everyone else that I'm not replying to directly - thank you for your comments n__n I knew I'd probably end up upsetting a few GY malticorn owners, but I do feel that in time you will come to love this one too. Or at least tolerate it! I aim to create the kind of pet that will attract /more/ owners when I draw a pet, and to be honest, the old GY malticorn was in a very dull standing pose that was just too similar to the common malticorn's pose for my liking. I wanted to shake it up a bit! I feel that special colours should be as special as they can be, and whilst I'm happy to just 'touch up' the kind of pets that I don't feel need any help, with this one, I did believe I could do better. Which, judging by a large percentage of the posts here, I have! Again, I'm sorry to those of you who feel I've ruined your pet. It was really never my intention to hurt anyone, but it does seem to be an inevitable consequence of any sizeable revamp!
I dont personally care for the Malticorn but the Chelon I do like quite a bit.

To be completely honest, I find it pretty strange that people are complaining so much about the new malticorn. It's a vast improvement. I was surprised that people actually liked the old version, it wasn't very well done in my opinion.
And as for the look of the old one compared the the new version, it looks pretty similar in expression to me.
I've said it once and Ill say it again, Rah PLEASE when you redo the bloodred keep it's innocent-ness. It's awesome that it's like "what? I didn't do it. Why are you looking at me?" And also why do you(subeta artists) keep revamping colors when there are still species that need new colors. Like tigrean and celinox? They both still need an angelic and spectrum.

Agreeing with the discontent on the Malticorn. A slight update like the Spectrum Keeto had would've been plenty. The rest has already been said by dozens of others here, so I'll leave it at that.
Both solid improvements...but the Chelon definitely rocks the graveyard! Love the Corpse Bride wormie (lol)
Wow, you know, each time there's a GY revamp, there's always the same complaints...
It's too skinny? Well, you know, if you were dead for a while and then raised as a zombie I'd be guessing you wouldn't have many insides either. I mean, from all the decomposition you'd have had.
I mean, you all do realize that these are Zombie pets, right? Not Evil pets (those are Nightmare) and not Psychotic pets (those are Bloodred) but died-buried-in-the-ground-raised-by-who-knows-what-kinds-of-crazy-means-as-living-corpses pets.
That being said, these two look absolutely lovely. I like the fact that the GY Malticorn has not so much decomposition, since it never had it before, so it's not a very drastic change. I absolutely adore all the minute touches to the Chelon! The fishing line and all that jazz... awesome. And am I correct in seeing a bit of Chelon brain peeking through there?
i miss the old GY malticorn. the reason i turned huffinpuff graveyard was because of the badass attitude of the old one. this one looks wicked...but disturbed...

I honestly cannot believe that the old moods are being considered when doing revamps. Every one I've seen has had a changed mood except for BR Velos. I agree with most comments to GY Malti. The sass is gone. I'm still terrified for my Angelic Morti.
I love the new Malticorn; I have a perfect character in mind but no space xD Gah. The pose is amazing; the old one looked really weird with the hind leg twisted like that, and it was so plain Dx This one just... wow. Gorgeous [= And the expression of the revamp is so much better... the perfect amount of smirk going on xD And the dark circles around the eyes are a perfect addition.

I seriously prefered the GY Malticorn the way it was. Some of the changes have seriously taken away the personality and the general vibe that it used to have. It looked so delightfully evil and sassy.
Oh, but the Chelon is lovely. There are really awesome details on it. Good work.

Like I know that's harsh, but I loved how mean and happy and pretty it was, and how adult and grown up and mature it looked. And the fur around her legs and everything. Ruining the malticorn really makes me want to spend less time on the site...have to give mine away now. Or change it or something.

The GY Malti updates only make me fear an update for the RB and Angelic. I am still not completely happy with the Malticorn revamp, but overlooked it because my Malti is the only pet I hope to recolor Angelic. It is a long term investment for me and I would understand if anyone that had an Angelic pet felt cheated if they no longer have what they invested in. Work on the colors the Malti doesn't have yet and give the owners some options if you remove a pet they invested time and sometimes money on.
I don't really care for the Malticorn's hooves (they just look a little... awkward?) but over all it is an amazing revamp! The old one didn't even look Graveyard at all!

I know these pets are supposed to be controversial, but the Chelon is just as bad as the Chai.....so sad. I don't know why anyone who want these and I consider myself pretty morbid, or that is, others do. But not morbid pets I guess.
And they better not be the only things "stirring". Jaxon needs to get a move on already!!!

I was afraid this would happen. I must say I am extremely dissipointed with the new GY Malticorn. It did loose the evil smirk, and it lost the fearsome attitude. I really think the re-drawing is cartooney. I do not like the overly skinny physique, the way it is rearing up...the whole thing. I am sorry to say, this re-vamp just does not do it for me. I'm sad that one of my favorite pets now has to be fed a different species potion to make her awesome again.
The Graveyard Malticorn was another revamp I feared... but I am actually surprised at how it turned out. At least the expression keeps that giddy and evil look, I do miss how the old version was different and added variety to the mix.
