Amidst snow flurries and chill wind, the Glacier Ruffie has made itself known (and boy is it happy to see you)!

And speaking of things which are happy to see you, the Graveyard Mortiking is looking rather bright-eyed and bushy-tailed all of a sudden!

Okay... I'm sorry... the Mortiking's colouring and detail is amazing... but... Every time I look at it my eyes go straight to its right arm. Now yes, I know, its undead, mutilated, etc... but... theres nothing to show that the arm is broke in any way D8; its just sprouted out of his back bone Dx; Lol I don't know why it bugs me so much... other than that and the placement of the right leg, its pretty dang amazingly done. I give the left half an A++ XD; And hurrah for gore!

As for the Ruffie... well, not much to it other than its a Glacier pet OAO; Its cute, passive, and laid back, all seems in order to me c:

Either way, awesome job on both accounts !

I adore that Ruffie's expression. I think the flat forehead add to the cynical look it has on it's face. xD chuckles It's adoreable!

The Mortiking... Great detail, fantastic... Yet these new Graveyard pets have been so... Uuugh for me lately. The Chai looked lumpy and a bit over the top, and I suppose the Mortiking is, too. Especially with that right arm. So akward looking. And the eye is... Very... (Cant find words)

...Yeah... >>; Good artwork, yet... the graveyard pets... ugh... I'll stick with the old Clawsion...

I like the both of them but there's a few things thet bother me. First, the Ruffie, the pose is lovely but it's really plain. As others have stated the forehead is really flat. What really bothers me is how the spine is drawn only by that black line, shading should have been used to completely get rid of that line because it almost looks like that side of him is his paw and that he's scratching his butt.
Second, the Mortiking, everything is believiable except for his right arm. At the angle the rest of the body is turned you should only be able to see very little of that arm, if any. (Unless the artist was going for a dislocated arm growing out of the back look) Thats really all that bothers me, they're really nice drawings and portray the pets as they would be in those colors perfectly, kudos to the artists^^

To me, the Glacier Ruffie looks a bit...blah. =/ I understand that the plain, yet expressive style is what Glacier pets are supposed to be, but I don't think this Ruffie's
cynical(?) expression is enough to cover the plainness on the body. First, I'll start with the face. The forehead seems to be big, but I think that's mostly because the thing's devoid of any sort of eyebrow. (Which, now that I think of it, could've really added a LOT more expression to the face) As of now, the forehead looks flat as it seems to fall straight down into the face. If there were eyebrows and a bit of shading above the eyebrows, then that would've given the face dimension, as opposed to looking 2-D and flat as it does now. (The shading towards the right eye is natural, but it does not add much dimension all the while.) The only place I see dimension is in the muzzle. In my head, I am trying to envision what a Ruffie's skull would look like in this pose--and it's convincing enough---, but the lack of eyebrows really makes this skull look as if it's a straight line down until the eyes themself (Which, of course, there would be the sockets when you're envisioning a skull.) . The next bit of dimension is in the muzzle. What I'm seeing (skull-wise) is a slight curvature at the top of the head but then a straight, flat fall (yes, I see curvature near the right eye, but the shading does not make this look convincing.) from there. (Until the eyes are hit, that is.) Above all, what I'm trying to say is that the Ruffie could've used more dimension in the face, and I felt as if the addition of eyebrows would do that. As for the body, it is plain, but believable nonetheless. A bit more shading could've done the trick, but it looks fine. The lineart on the spine is wobbly, but I won't put any blame into that because I know that good lineart is NOT easy to pull off.

The Mortiking has extravagant detail and all, but that doesn't charm me away from the awkwardly-placed right arm. A pointer on the right arm though: The bulge in the top muscle seems possible, as you can see the top left arm muscle seems to have some flesh ripped out (aka the scar I'm seeing), but the overlap in the body makes that scar look almost unintentional. The composition in the top left arm muscle is round, just like it is in the right arm, and that takes away belief as you have the overlap (as I mentioned) in the body. To make the right arm seem less awkwardly placed, it should've stayed in the same position but instead pointed downward like the nearer (left) arm. That would've gave us the impression that the Mortiking was trying to attack us instead of looking as if it was pulling off a crazy pose for the circus. The glowing red eyes, as others have said, make the Mortiking look mindlessly rabid, which only adds to the already strangeness of the pose. For the eyes, I'd suggest they be yellow and slitted. Kind of cliche, I know, but it'd give us more of a beastly feel--a feel that a Mortiking should have.

The ruffie is awesome, it reminds me a bit of the poor Glacier Ruffie I did to the ArtApp, but I think the only problem is the back line, without it, it's back could be smoothed and look less divided (okay, I can't draw pets, but that isn't the subject). Nice to see the Glacier Ruffie, even with the stalactites (sp?) in it's ears... I think Adorability is going to get potioned >D

About the revamped GY Mortiking... Awesome. So "OMG guro" and evil-zombie... I know a friend that love GY pets, and approves the gory revamps 8D

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Patch

for people who think that the ruffie is touching itself its not. that is the spine. the tail is covering its butt. no creature could ever have a butt that big. if you have a real dog then you would know that they do that pose. they lay down and then when you call their names they turn their head and look at you. thats what the ruffie is doing.

but on another note the mortiking does look off to me.

Noir~I think "lumpy" wasn't a good word to describe it but the pose the GY Morti was put in makes it horrible. It just looks rabid and ...well... stupid. The right arm is anatomically wrong and it's just a huge change from the previous. I understand the point of a revamp is to change but I really think the GY changes should be put in polls. It's just my opinion And Observation but it seems like most prefer the old. I hope polls are considered for the future revamps.

Sorry if it sounds like I hate the pic. I think it's wonderful. However it's just not the right one for this.

I'm not a fan of ruffies and I think this revamp looks awkward IMO something about the body style and the position of the head bothers me. But I can see why people find it adorable the expression on it's face is sort of pouting it's cute still and whoever drew it still did a nice job. It's difficult to please everyone

The Graveyard Mortiking isn't realy a favorite of mine either and the revamp is a bit too random and miss-matched for me, that doesn't mean it's not a good revamp though I'm sure there are others that love it

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I think a large part of the character of the mortiking being lost is the eyes. They're red, which makes them seem robotic, unfeeling. I think that a change in the eyes would definately help.

But the ruffie is great. Really nice.

Loving the Ruffie's expression. It looks awesome.
But the mortiking has lost what it originally had. The art is fab but the original feeling has been lost. It looks a little too fat now, and its lost the original expression, and so has changed very dramatically.
Also, as a small crit, the two arms dont appear to be on the same level. The one on the right looks further back, and closer to the spine. As wonderful as the art looks, it has room for improvement still.

Well, It's DEAD.
How can it be RIGHT?

When you're dead, you could have a broken arm and just not really care.
If you're decaying, you're decaying.

I have a question. Seeing as you've revamped the GY Mortiking, when is the rest of the species going to be done? It's line art and coloring need updating in a very bad way. Even more so than the Harvester.

mezcase: The Mortiking has always been a fat lard of a dinosaur. Some thought it was because he was cramped in the 200 x 200 pixel dimensions of the image, making him slump over/bend over to fit. However if you take a look at the galactic Mortiking, you'll see that the species is one of the "fat pets" one can own on the site.

When fat rots, it becomes lumpy and very... unpleasant. To put it simply, you'd PUKE if you saw the real thing so it's not like they're being totally inaccurate with the look of the decay. Besides, it's a zombie. Just how attractive do you think it's supposed to be?

However, I have to agree that I don't like how -fat- the Mortiking has become. I can only hope that when the BR Mortiking gets revamped, it'll look more muscular/lean like the previous image did.

I'm not sure why, but I'm just not really liking the new Mortiking. The art is very nice, the only crit I have being the arm jutting straight up out of it's spine. I like the increased amount of rottedness, etc., but I'm just having a hard time adjusting to the dramatic difference.
The Ruffie looks good, except for comments that others have already made about shading, back line and such. I love it's expression.

Are y'all updating all the Graveyards? Because I would really be loathe to see my GY Paralix go... Not that my word matters anyways, but just my two cents. Thanks!
