Flit, has it not occured to you that some people are complaining because they DO like SUbeta.. Well, the way Subeta is when it works?

If people didn't liek the site, they wouldn't visit it anymore. Just because someone chooses to express their frusteration doesn't mean they dislike the site...

Flit, I'll complain all I want to because first off, I can. And second of all, because I do happen to like playing on Subeta, but it's frustrating as hell to come here and not be able to do much more than look at pretty pictures. If I wanted to do that, there are plenty of art sites out there that I could be spending time on instead of here. And to those of you berating the complainers saying we shouldn't be blaming the artists for the glitches, we aren't. We're blaming the powers that be for continuing to post new content/items when the site is as glitchy as it is and the content can't be accessed. A simple note saying that new item releases and new content will be suspended till the glitches are fixed would soothe a lot of irritated nerves.

Talk about drama..

Flit that is a very radical thing to say. The site isnt perfect, most things aren't, but we have to deal with that.

Am I happy that I can't access the forums or trades because I have a microsoft-loving-firefox-hating computer? No.

Was I upset when my GA was dead and I went from a 3-4 page shop to over 10 pages? Of course.

Am I willing to visit the site while the issues in the background are being fixed? Yes, I love it here and the people I've met.

I think it would be unfair to ask us not to complain about things that are happening. When you care about something and worry about whats happen the rational thing to do is complain and try to get it fixed, granted some do take it to an extreme.

-----

We all would like an estimated time to when things will be back to "normal" but really that isnt logical and then wed all just be upset if that date and time weren't met. They are trying their best so give them time. Sending hundreds of smails, countless forums and thousands of rude comments for them to respond to isn't helping the situation.

Flit, people complain because they do care. If we didn't like Subeta, we wouldn't play it -- we're not masochists. I see a similar argument on TV show forums a lot -- "If you don't like this character/this episode/this story arc, then you obviously hate the show, so stop watching!" It just doesn't work that way. You can like something, or even love something, and not love every aspect of it. Telling people to quit a site because they're frustrated with glitches is, quite frankly, ridiculous.

Flit, there are most of us who love this site how it is, but the few that complain are the loudest. How insulting for you to say something like that. Don't generalize the populace of subeta unless you include yourself in it.

I'd like to suggest to the staff that Subeta be taken down completely and permanently. Clearly, the people that it's being provided for don't like it, so why go to the effort of giving someone a gift that they'll just complain isn't good enough? Especially because as the past has proven, it's not good enough, even when there aren't glitches. Therefore, might as well just cal it quits, right?

Any idea on where I head off to in order to vend them?

KUDOS ON THE ARTISTS.

And to all of you who are complaining to the Artists about the Shop Glitches I just have to ask you this:

What makes you think that people who's Tools of the Trades are paintbrushes and pens and stuff are capable of freaking fixing a Glitch? That's for the Coding Specialists to do. So stop ratting them all out for doing their JOB.

I also did not know what Diwali was. Thank you again Google and Wikipedia: The festival marks the victory of good over evil, and uplifting of spiritual darkness. Something that should be celebrated certainly! Thank you for the new items that commemorate this festive holiday. I am sad I can not restock them. I want a new festival that will mark the victory of fixed coding and the uplifting of restockers hearts =D

RainOfStars, the wizard no longer gives out items.

I hope when the quests are tweaked again, that's changed. But that is a whole other argument So if you want to get one of the pretty candles, I guess the cranes are your only option for now (or I guess the other quests if you hadn't done them in the past two days).

Before now, I had never heard of Diwali. I looked it up on Wikipedia and read a little about it. Thanks Subeta! You learn something new every day The items are beautiful too. Even though the shops are down we could still probably get them from the claw machines and the Wizard, right? So the announcement really isn't pointless I'm sure everything will be fixed soon.

I strongly feel that you guys, who support the site with your time, if not your money, deserve the right to complain when things aren't working. Leaving the site up isn't going to satisfy everyone, and neither is taking the site down, so you can't really expect everyone to be contented by the mere fact that it's up. It's true; things aren't working, and it's irritating. I don't blame anyone for complaining. Heck, as a user, it's just as annoying for me.
However, it's just a tad frustrating when the complaints are directed at those who are helpless to do anything to make things better. You might not agree that releasing these items on the appropriate celebration date was a better decision than waiting a week or so, but I think a few people are getting a smidge passionate in their criticisms.
Anyway, happy Diwali?

I don't appreciate being referred to as "immature" because I dare to complain about something. I complain about things I care about because I want them to be better. If other people are content to praise every decision the staff makes and wait patiently, without complaint, for major glitches to be remedied, that's fine. I don't mind. But don't tell me what I should think or what I should say.

Kudos to releasing items for Diwali! Even if it's frustrating that we can't buy them, I appreciate that they were released on the right day. wonders if there might be a new free gift too? We had a big celebration at work today (I have a lot of Indian co-workers... seriously yummy treats! - including the barfi that the artists made... mmmmm cardamon).

It is frustrating to have the site so buggy though. Honestly, if it meant the programmers could get the fixes done faster, I'd rather the site was down entirely (is a programmer, has been there).

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Perhaps taking it down wouldn't help? I think it's silly of us to presume what the programmers should or should not be doing right now since as users we really don't know what is necessary to fix the bugs.

Agrees with Jessyta

I don't know why they don't just take the site down for a day or two, halt work on the recode, and get the site in working order. Fix your mile long list of glitches /then/ get back to making the site prettier.

Though once the site does get this so called miracle recode, I can almost guarantee that it will still be running like crap and new glitches will be just a click away.

I love Subeta I really do. But all these nonstop glitches are enough to wear even the most patient person down.

ok, an idea for IE users that i've discovered (despite primarily using firefox) - if you want/need to use trades or forums, it seems to work if you right click and open the link in a new window (worked for me in trades at least)... it might be a roundabout way, and unnecessary effort, but hey, if it works shrug

Ehh Spiked, the staff never really give us updates, at least not official ones in the news that let everyone know. They seem to like posting glitches in the forums now, which most of us can't even access right now anyway.

Like many of you, I'm frustrated with the release of new items when you can't actually buy them. Really, I don't see the point. True you can vend, but since quests haven't reset for over going on two days now, a lot of people don't have extra tokens to waste trying to get one of these.

While new items are appreciated, and I love love love the candles, I just don't see the point of releasing these when the site is broken. Maybe one of these could have been released in the Token Shop and another as a free gift, then once the site was actually working the other colors of these could have been released?

I think I must have missed all the updates about why quests, shops, forums, trades, and the HA system are broken, Spiked, and when they'll be fixed. Are they in the announcements forum? Because I'm using IE and I get blank pages in the forums.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Pardon me, artists? Yes, we would like you to completely stop doing all the hard work you've been doing on the new items and sit around with your thumbs up your collective... ahem... and not do anything until the bugs are fixed! Furthermore, we are all aware of your vicious plot to torture us with the afore mentioned new items, and we demand as payment for your cruelty that you immediately all learn programming and fix the site of all bugs in the bug database within the next 45 minutes. Or at least the shop bug, then maybe we'll quite our griping for a few hours. If you're lucky. Sincerely, the ungrateful Subetans.

Adding more items to the site does not increase the amount of work required to fix the shops. Items are artists' jobs, fixing the shops is programmers' jobs. Nagging at those who cannot do a thing about the problem is quite inefficient.

new items can still be released through vending machines, unless of course you don't want that either.

It has been repeated many times why certain glitches are not being worked on right now. I'm not sure how many more times do we have to repeat this before it leaves any impression on you x)

Lastly, I'm not sure if any of you remember that most of staff also play the site, and maybe you will feel better to know that the same glitches annoy us as much as they annoy you.

I just think it's a bit unfortunate that people like Philosofish, who a day or two ago realised Diwali was coming up, hastily tried to get a few of we fellow staff artists to whip up some pretty new items to acknowledge a holiday that is celebrated by millions around the world, have their good-natured gesture clouded by whining over completely unrelated issues that are most certainly not her fault, and that she is not responsible/able to fix.
