i agree

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

this trivia makes me mad.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

wow...this current trivia is a lot harder than i thought....cant seem to find the item........maybe im using the wrong code...

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

These codes make Trivia the opposite of fun for me.
I honestly can't figure out how to decipher them.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

That's fine DebiLee. If I don't do trivias that I think will take more than day to solve, that's ok. The added bonus is that I already have 10 - phew! It's nice to know that the staff make mistakes too!

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by DebiLee
User Avatar

Whether or not to do the Trivias is an individual decision. There has never been a set time for the end; I myself have gotten two incorrect because, after researching, I knew the answer for the one that was up, but I didn't think to refresh the page when I came back to it, and the Trivia had changed, so I put the old answer for the new Trivia... which I also knew the answer to. The current Trivia does have an advantage to solving it in that it obviously has to be an item with exactly that number of letters, plus it is a fairly standard universally used code.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Sorry, but - with absolutely no offence to the staff, whom I still love - I'm going to have to join the group of people who have given up even attempting new trivias. I just can't spend over five hours working on cracking something, if there's no guarantee that it will still be there when I have. I simply can't afford to waste what time I have like that, to be disappointed, and see the subsequent prize selling for over 3 mil. And I don't want to log-in to Subeta and be angry/disappointed, as I really like the site. I'll miss the trivias. I used to enjoy them.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Nouveau
User Avatar

It COULD be a 24 year age gap, if one assumed Miriam was 72 or Debilee was 36.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

actually they do. They cant have the same age unless theyre both born on the same year which i dont take the hint would have been necessary. Theres 12 different chinese years and therefore IS a 12 year gap. i should know.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Nouveau
User Avatar

Leftovername, you are wrong about the they MUST have an age gap of 12. They do, but it isn't a must.

The Trivia had to be changed early because people were mailing every single Staff member and jamming their inboxes rather than just only mailing me (it's permissible to mail the person who puts up the Trivia), or looking at the look ups and journals of the Staff members; that's what I meant by complaints, not user cimplaints, we always have those. XD There was an announcement at the top of the page on Moon's and my shared birthday, plus we've both said it many times, plus Forums posts around the time, etc. Keith, excalibur, etc. have all posted numerical codes Trivias in the past; this is just another. No, Lapillons will not stock or be used as a Trivia prize again; there were actually WAY more won than people seem to think there were. A Trivia prize is only re-used if fewer than ten total are won; there were many, many more than that won. The Trivias do not, and will not, end at set times due to the possibility of a Staff member not being available at that precise time to change them, nor will a specific ending time be announced. The only requirement for them is that they stay up for a minimum of twenty-four hours (barring those taken down for mistakes), so that everyone in all time zones has a chance to answer them. This one was up for well longer than that and was taken down for a specific reason, not "arbitrarily". A small percentage of users might tell someone else the answers; when found/reported we freeze everyone involved. And, as I previously explained to Noir, I believe it was, this type of Trivia is now being done because the value of the Trivia prizes had become severely compromised due to the posts in Yahoo answers; I purchased 4th of July squirt guns for as low as 25sP each! That was just NOT right. And it IS working as intended; before there were 75%-85% correct, now that has been successfully reversed to 15%-25% correct, re-establishing and maintaining the value of the prizes. Also, Trivias on other assorted sites aren't Googleable; you actually have to work and figure them out, which is exactly the same as ours is now. There will not be a return to Googleable Trivias; both Moon and I spent hours researching fun, interesting, quasi educational Trivias only to find them plastered all over Yahoo Answers. So it was either switch to this new type of questions or do away with the trivia completely. Some will be more challenging than others but we won't be returning to searchable Trivias.

LOL No offense taken, at all, which is why I wrote "Last one was darned near impossible" instead of it was straight up impossible because I know people did get the right answer

My main point was the fact that as soon as it came out, the info was in fact NOT on moonfighters page nor was any info on Debi's page. At the time, it was fixed, but at the time I tried to solve it, the information was not there...Therefore I didn't think it was necessary to check back on that page, which was my mistake I guess

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

you DIDNT have to guess debilees age. both the oldest and second oldest were year of the dog. so they have an age gap of 12. and then in moonfighters page some asked if they in fact have the same birthday. and you get moonfighters age. you guys needed to use the hint they gave you. it was there for a reason.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

No offense Kricket, but of people got the answer right, then it WAS possible...=/. I know for a fact that the staff (more or less debilee since she added it) would not add a trivia if it was "impossible" to find....=/

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I really hate trivia questions.

Please ignore the rant about the user lists, as my brilliance just clicked on the Staff button on the bottom of the darned pages LMAO.

Buut point still stands that their ages were NOT all up as I was looking for them, once I spent an hour and a half searching the users profiles, to occasionally hit upon a staff member

Well ok this is bad. How in the world are we supposed to establish what someone is thinking about by throwing random numbers at us with no cypher to CRACK THE CODE. Don't tell me it's a "simple crack the code trivia" and not give us the ability to crack the code. This is ridiculous. No, I don't want the google trivias back, but COME ON. Last one was darned near impossible if you didn't know who was staff, which by the way most newbies won't and since you dont' have a user list you can't find out....And now this one is "here are some random numbers, that aren't binary, aren't hex code, aren't decipherable into hex code, and also aren't leet speak. So what is it, because I won't give you the deciphering factor."
Well, that's all fair and wonderful. Pffft

My problem on the last trivia was the fact that NO WHERE on Subeta does it tell DebiLee's age or birth year. I had no clue how old she is. I followed the logic and got all the other parts of the trivia correct but I had to guess at DebiLee's age. I also came up with the answer of 1. (Personally since that part of the equation was missing at Subeta, I believe all folks who answered 1 should get the prize too. Because we had to guess between the ages of 36 or 48 for Deb)

Whats up with everyone complaining. Its called a trivia for a reason. Just because you dont KNOW it doesnt mean you cant LEARN it. If it wasnt hard, it wouldnt be trivial, no? Also, people who are complaining about the last trivia being taken down early...Well, guess what. There isnt a set time they HAVE to change it. Thats the most fun part of the trivia. You never know when its going to change. Nor does everyone else. If a lot of people won, which I can see there was a fair ammount, Then there WAS enough time on the trivia. There was more than enough time and a fair chance for everyone to get it right. And no, incase you're wondering, I did NOT get the past trivia right..

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Is this trivia an item number or do we have to figure out what each letter stands for because there are a lot of 7's in there.

my brain is dripping out of my ear

  1. I agree with the others that there should be a set start and end day.

    2. I love how the new trivia says "This is a simple Crack the Code trivia". Simple??? If it was simple, I don't think it would've been put up as a trivia.
December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

and then the two people who had the same birthday was moonfighter and debilee. It was asked in the Q&A in moonfighters page.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

the whole trick last trivia was that both the oldest and second oldest were year of the dog. which meant they have a gap of 12 years apart since there is 12 animals...

I agree with some people here - I think the trivia need to start and end on a set day. :/

It's really no fun when you waste hours trying to figure out stuff, and then -bam-, the trivia is over.

Yeah I also like the idea of the trivia having a start and end set day.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I agree - Trivias need to start and end on a set day. I'm sure I'm not the only person who's really cross about it ending so quickly - One more day and I'd have had the answer! I'm not looking for a repeat of the googleable trivias, but I think some people are forgetting that there are quite a few kid players on here who just aren't up to mind-melting trivias all the time. Couldn't we see a happy medium of the brain-bending and the googleable? Maybe alternate between hard and medium? And please please consider putting up a "this trivia ends on..." sp we don't waste 5+ hours for nothing, or people just aren't going to bother with them.

Holds tightly to Lapi I hope it doesn't get given out again It would take away from it's rarity.

Nah really it wouldn't matter to me much, i thought trivias lasted a week... but yeah it wasn't right to end it early cause of people complaining.

I hope that Lapillon will become a trivia prize again in the future. I wasn't expecting the trivia to be replaced so quickly.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I thought the trivia was changed so that it wouldn't be so easy to get, but some of the people who have been getting the trivia right have been telling friends anyway to get doubles and sell?

Nothing like encouraging the cheaters. :/

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by JESSYTA

You know what would be really rad? If the trivias started and ended at set times. Like, once per week, or ocne every 3 days. hat way there aren't angry players who didn't get to finish one trivia because staff arbitrarly decided to change it.

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

Typo. Dx

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

I've given up on the trivia too. ;~;
I'd rather just use sP to buy from other users then crack my head on this trivia. It's just not my thing. Dx

December 31, 1969, 7:00 pm by Deleted User

UndeadCat ROTF! I hear ya darlin'. I've given up on the trivia.

Avbljf, I agree. When I looked and looked, there were no ages. The only one I knew was Keith because when he turned 17 we had an abundance of cake and balloons for a week. lol

I think the intentions were good but only those with gifted minds or great guessing could get any of these dang number things. Grrrrrr.

And Moon later changed her profile and put her age there. xD
In my opinion if you're gonna have a trivia like that the staff shouldn't be editing their profiles while the trivia was up, it all should have been done before the trivia started. I noticed a couple other profiles change while I was in the middle of searching.

if you guessed one as your answer it was because you probly put debilee as being 36 and not 48

My head hurts
