Subeta -

Welcome everyone, to the new subeta. The site is now up for everyone.

You may notice that certain areas of the site don't work. This is because we have made the change to a CSS(/div) driven website, instead of tables.

So the areas of the site that use tables, will have some problems. The next few days will be spent updating the entire site to match the current scheme of this layout.

Which means, yes, you will have to update your profiles, and <a href=user.php?act=customcss>customCSS. However, like I said, this layout is completly driven by CSS and div's. Which means that you can completly customize every aspect of it. Make it whatever you want.

At the moment there is only one version of the layout avaible. However, once the site is working on this version, more schemes (color/headers) will be put on the site.

I actually quite like it. It feels new and fresh
There's only one or two little things (like the stretched titles on the pet pages and user pages), but I'm sure they'll be fixed soon.

(I may have posted enough but i still have more to say) but i agree that there should have been a poll i mean new users who just got the hang of this site are probably going to have a hard time navigating........... I know that this layout was a lot of work and all but im sorry to say i just don't like it. like the others i find it very big and cartoony, but i do like the fact that you separated the news day makes it easier to see......but in the future do you mind giving us a warning before you blow up Subeta and turn it into cartoon land ?

T_T and no, i don't think the layout contest is considered a warning.

Can't help it, in spite of the hard work that has been done, I still love the way it was before - hope that it might still be an option in the future. Would like to see the other search back too.

Wow! I love the new layout. ^^ I only don't like the color blue. But you said there will come more colors, right? I'm trying to get used not at the sidebar, but that will take some time.

It's all right, I suppose. I miss the shoutbox. And the grey background... Erk. I have mixed feelings about this layout.

Good thing I know some CSS, I'm going to go and customize it now.

I hate to complain, but I'm not the fondest of the new layout, either.

I realy, REALLY loved the old low bandwith layouts.. :/ This..takes longer to load--it's killing my connection, in all honesty, to begin with.. While I'm sure it won't take long to get used to, I preffer the look and feel of the old.

I miss my old layout because I worked so hard on my pet profiles and now they are huge and stretch my page and what not but it is not like I cannot navigate.
I appreciate the hardwork that went into this and just wish I knew more about CSS.
I miss search too but I am sure it will be back.
I'm old change is hard for me but I will get used to it and am very thankful to just be able to come here and play with my babies and all that jazz.
Never think me ungrateful because I am very grateful.

Honestly, I really don't like this and I don't really see the need for a completely new layout. The old one was completely fine, and it was much easier to use (especially for those who can't use CSS easily, which I can't). It's not my site after all, but to be honest, I'm just not really crazed about this new layout.

I really don't like this...maybe if there was an option to use the "old" subeta layout, it would be cool with me.
But it's not my website, after all. I respect the amount of work that must have gone into this, though.

..... Shop search still isn't up.... this is stupid. I want the old layout back. I loved my setting. It was the desert skies one. My sister had the purple one with the Dragarth (sp?) pet.

I like the new"ness" of it all. And I love the fact that it's all customizable now too. Hugs CSS Already did my lookup. Now I'll just be waiting to see some of the new different layouts that are coming. Great job to Keith and everyone on this one.

Wow, this was a TOTAL surprise when I logged on after work. XD Amazing work!

The only thing that bothers me is the time; it's like, huge. D: And I do agree that the gray space is rather .. bland.

.. and how do you search users? 0_o I can't seem to find that function.

And might I suggest using some cell padding on these div layers/tables/whatever they are? I feel the text is too close to the side of the layer, and it's kind of hard to read sometimes. 0_o Padding is good, oh so good.

I REALLY like the front page however. The Angelic Canis just totally . . makes it rock.

I also like the tabbed look. I like tabs. They make it look spiffy.

Another thing; sometimes the top div layers stretch over the white background and it looks really weird. 0_o Right now, next to my user info, Maleria is stretched out over the white background, and it's annoying me.

And for some reason now the sidebar is really getting to me. I feel it has way too many options on it, and should be looked at .. . but . . there were that many before too. e-e;; Maybe the donate/login/logout buttons should be re-added, instead of having text links for them.

Over-all however, I think it's wonderful. Wow, two site re-vamps in one day. XD I logged onto Gaia today and BAM! The entire layout was COMPLETELY different. Totally confused the crap out of me. At least this one is still remotely similiar to the old layout.

Great job on the layout you guys, and I hope you guys get the links and bugs worked out soon. <3

Keith I begg of you please don't put sponcer ads on this site..
Yes I know sponcers bring in money and everything..
But ALOT of us left a certain other pet site cause we got sick of the ads and a few other reasons..

and yes I know i can't spell

and people complaining about things will get us/you no where...Keith and the rest of the staff are doing everything they can to get this site up and running and looking good..It takes time to make all coding perfect..Just give it a few days and i'm sure it will all be worked out..
Just be thankful that the site wasn't taken down completely while they fix everything.. cause then what would you be doing right now..

Man, now I'm wishing I'd grabbed the source code of the St Patricks Day layout when I had the chance. So that I could customise it (whenever it'll be possible)...

OMG...Keith you nearly gave me a heart attack! I get to the first page and it looks like I'm on a whole other site ...strange text all over the place, no sP or pets I remember....ye gods! wipes sweat from brow Don't SCARE me like that! 0.o;;;;;;

ahck. Sorry to all you staffs who worked thier butts off but I hate this layout. I can't get to the games page, their is a big blank spot on the users page, every time you click on shops it takes you to a random spot and you have to click on back to shops, and now there is going to be like a bunch of 5 years old on subeta, we have to learn CSS, and all the time people spent on making look-up, backgrounds, ect., is wasted. And their is people who paid sP for their look-ups, and thier look-ups don't work.:/ (note: the 5 year old commint came from when you said "The site is now up for everyone." I really don't mean to complain, but that IS how I feel.

i don't like this at all. I just hate this. A lot. It makes me want to die. CHANGE IT BACK PLEASE!!!!

An idea for the search would be to add "pet", "user", and "item" to the dropdown making it able to search all aspects.. or to simply make a page like the shopsearch just for those three items because shopsearch already has a link from shops. But somehow I feel you guys are already handling the search and don't need any of my ideas...

Yes, the nav needs a lil re-arranging. But give them a break, some of these links were added last second because they were too busy with getting it to work to remember every single link that needs a spot...

I'd remove "wishlists" from the nav bar and pop them in prefs, destroy "live" and pop the following to these respective places: artgallery to interact, editorial to start, preferences to play, and shoutbox to interact or give it it's own block so people can open it there like they usta.

Then you can move login/logout as their own links on the play bar... that or not give the final block a title.. and simply put "login / logout" as links, do a br and then put in a search bar... there's many possibilities you see and clearly it isn't done so don't complain about -link placement- people, it's an easy fix and a likely change. So relax, and wait it out. If you see a problem that's making gameplay hard, simply let the staffers know - don't act like having a new template means everythings always gunna be broken. X3

Ok i gave negative comments about the new look, but i'm getting used to it, but i do agree with those who hate the big gray area on the right... makes the site look so small and cramped together

...No thanks. It really, REALLY just reminds me of a certain other petsite now. How it went through a big remodeling at one point, and just how it looks. And...I'm not sure if I'll be able to get used to such a big change any time soon. ^-^; Most of what turns me away has already been said.

I ABSOLUTELY and completely love this new look Subeta. I really, really don't get where all the "it looks childish" comments are coming from; it's new, fresh and just as professional and well finished as the old Subeta was.

And you know what, Keith DID say that because of the way this layout is put together, you can customize Subeta to look like WHATEVER you want, through CustomCSS. It's going to allow you to do CRAZY-AWESOME things with your profiles, as well.

Eh. You'll all get used to it and learn to love it, I'm sure. :3 There may be a few things that need minor tweaking.. but overall, I have a feeling this layout's going to work wonders. :3

Plus.. as Keith pointed out, more themes WILL be coming soon.. so those of you who like darker, more mature layouts will be better satisfied, methinks. :3

when I first joined, it took me a while to get familiar enough to find my way around without thinking about it. I'm sure in another week or so, i'll be familiar with the new design, no worries, no upset. Different doesn't mean bad.

The only probs I have with the new version is the big blank space on the right. I'm using Opera at the moment, so I don't know if it's like that in other browsers.

And the search part. I know the "search shops" part is still there. But I miss the search part, where you could find a certain items rarity. I would use that all the time to find out if the item I was supposed to get for a quest was worth getting or not.

But other than that, I love the new layout .

I think people are making a big deal out of nothing.. font looks funny.. it'll be fixed.. dont like the layout? there'll be more. look up looks funny, change to css.. if you dont know how i'm sure the fan pages with premade layouts will get some css ones soon enough for everyone... ITS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD! It is just a webpage.

I appreciate the change. Don't care for the default version, but then, I never did for the old layout either..So I'm pretty confident I'll find a colored version of this new set up that'll be just right. It didn't even mess with me profile.
