I'm to the point where I'm pretty well convinced that the reason they don't give us more narrow time frames for things like this is because they're never sure when they'll actually get around to / remember to actually start whatever it is.

If it was supposedly be purposefully vague and wide a time frame as between after 4pm and midnight, it should have said evening or night on the news post. Evening carries a narrower time frame connotation. Just my 0.02. I wouldn't have stayed up if I knew it could have been night EST. Evening seemed doable.

Subeta time is EST. It's not a personal time zone (but I agree that it would be nice for even a rough time estimate to be on site somewhere even if it is an 8-hour span)
EST is the same as Subetan time (9 o'clock is the same in both).
Then it should have stated on the announcement itself that it was using personal time zone and not subetas. This is what i'm saying, this causes confusion. If people have to search for a proper time frame in a comment, its not good communication. >~<

I think i've been at work for the like last 4 or 5 of cw pawn shops. i live in subeta time so I am lucky that it drops at a "reasonable" time for me no matter what but i work weird ass hours so im never up when they drop. so i feel you on the sleep deprivation lol.

Well if you have both a computer and a cellphone, you could listen to music/watch a movie/show on one and frantically refresh with another. Fighting sleepiness is a whole other problem. You either have to get up and get moving, (preferrably outside where the fresh air will wake you up) or accept you're going to miss it and sleep. :(

I had completely forgotten about the pawn shop until, well, now, and I must admit I smiled a bit when I saw the news comments breaking down exactly how I expected, all while I was taking a nice nap and studying. I'm a terrible human being but at least now I've joined everyone in the despair.

That's probably the biggest problem though with giving time frames. Without specifiying if they meant their time (which users may not know) then Subeta time, it causes big confusion. They should be more clear if they meant any other time then the sites.
JC people need to calm down. "Evening" is subjective and time zones matter.
"Evening" for me is after 5pm, but I'm on Subeta time. If Amber is opening it up, she's on the West coast which would be 1pm in the afternoon her time. My "bed time" would be her "evening".
OF COURSE it would be awesome if they said "we'll be opening in the evening of EDT/MST/GMT" or some such, even giving how subjective those terms of morning/afternoon/evening are... but when have they EVER?

Evenings are normally anywhere from 6-9pm but after that 9pm signals night time.
