HYDRAGELLOS!

So, good news/bad news time. Good news: You've all been doing a great job swatting those mini gelatins! There are only around 147,000 of them left, which is... well, it's fewer than we started with. Bad news: In all the chaos, I didn't hear a Hydragellos sneaking up on us and now it's out there sliming up Subeta! (I don't know how none of you sighted people noticed a humongous three-headed gelatin monster menacingly approaching, but now is not the time for blame.)

Of course my first instinct as Subeta's bravest and most formidable warrior was to lean forward and run directly through the monster with my arms outstretched behind me (for the extra speed, you know), killing it instantly, but I just had this armor cleaned and I've also been told I need to learn to be more of a team player. Therefore, I will graciously allow you to band together to, if not defeat the monster, at least annoy it enough that it leaves Subeta.

At the speed it's moving, the Hydragellos should take until the end of the day on Sunday to make its way out of Subeta. Try to cut it down to size before then! I'll keep track of the damage you deal to the beast (which you'll also be able to check for yourself very soon) and once Subeta is safe again, I'll make sure you're rewarded! I'd say 15 million damage should earn you a Hydragellos Maniacal Core*, personally carved from the beast by yours truly. If you can't quite hit that mark, I'm sure I can find some other prizes for you. Good luck!

nope, 15m of damage for each person, but cumulative. It's been like that for some time already. The HP of Hydragellos is cumulative/community-thingy though

if you want the core which makes part of a weapon you need to do 15mil damage yourself

oh, totally x___x there's healer... hahaha 1m of mine are already gone and I'm already bored of battling :P I could barely reach 200 battles with the gelatins today and now another 100 battles with extra healing omg zzzzz

Yeah - even if I can max out and get like 6-7k a battle, it's still roughly 2500 battles....and it's nearly 10k sP a pop for me to heal, so it's 25m + all my time and energy (more really than I have). It's tedious and I probably still won't even get halfway there so eh...

Bludgeon of Mass Extinction can be used as well... And I mean, you can only use 2 attackers, I just throw a bunch of them there to complete the 8 weapons in case of one of them being stolen by opponents. And yeah, and on top of that I find battling thousands of times way too boring xD I can totally kiss/dance in events because it's just a click and every X minutes, but battling recquires healing (in the case of the hydra) and a lot of clicks.

Sadly I didn't know about the quills before haha. I've made a set (weapon and scroll) but even if I start doing 4k damage a round, it still looks like nearly 4k rounds against Hydragellos and I just...don't have that time honestly. I've managed 169 wins against the mini today (and 115 of that was at work on my phone over the course of the 9.5 hours I was there)...it's just not realistic for me and it's frustrating because they keep altering how you get the core, but making it kinda worse every time.

not if you use a full blocker and a freezing scroll/weapon in the first round. Give a look in one of my previous comments for a not-so-expensive strategy.

oh, totally... I bought the quills for 22m, I wasn't around during the plot. Sometimes there are people selling those weapons for a nice price. Weapons tend to have their prices over inflated during battling events. And sometimes you just get lucky, like when I found the Shinwas Temple Shard for 30m in the shops (that was the higher I went xD but it's totally worthy since it gives you an extra round forever in any battle) and some scrolls, like the cold blast were also pretty cheap (divine denizhen can be made in that scroll place, it's cheaper and materials are restockable).

The damage only counts for this Hydragellos. So you need the 1.5m by midnight Sunday for the core, or you need to start over with whatever mechanic they go with next time for awarding them, since it hasn't always been just a straight "get 1.5m damage" and is probably subject to change again

So... What about all the other gels between the n00b level and nonsense tier? Cause at ~5k per battle, healing costs of 9k/battle loss, that makes 27m to get that core. I mean, OK and also ~each battle/heal takes about 5 mins, so 10 hrs straight battling ASSUMING ZERO LAG or interruptions. could I do it? Probably. Am I likely to invest that time/effort with my ADHD brain? HHAAHAHAHAHA NO.

I appreciate the tips. I have some of those weapons but not all, same on the scrolls. And I can't front enough to buy the things I'm missing (also the quills don't have any available to buy and were a plot prize from a plot I wasn't here for sadly haha).

I'm not much of a battler as well xD Probably will skip the core, I don't even know if it's usable. But some strategy is nice for events, since I enjoy getting some battle loots from events/plots, so I'm okay with spending like... 20m in a weapon, and that's really low for high tier pets, but I prefer spending that much over 100m+++ for the best weapons in the site.

If you're interested in my strategy, it's the following:

[spoile=survival]I use an almost-full-freezing scroll (cold blast) with a full blocker (shinwas temple shard,) and a bomb (acorn bomb, recently in the TS), then in the second round, if hydra is frozen, I use a full freezer (that gorgun from battle shop does it), an attacker and an attack scroll (heavens cannon); if they're not frozen, I use the freezer, Phoenix Quill to survive another round and the defense scroll (divine denizhen). The next rounds are me trying to survive more with 2 attackers and the denizhen scroll (and if they are frozen by my semi-freezer weapons, I use the heavens cannon instead to attack a bit more).

My attackers are Paintbrush Blades, Daemons Poisonous Quills and Replica Minotaur Knocker with some freezing crystal modifiers to try another freezing round.[/spoiler]

Any chance there is a page that counts my progress? I need 11K battles to reach 15M. I doubt I will reach that this time around, but I would love to eventually reach it! Also the slayer achievement should be given for battling it eve once. It would be nice.

I'm with you. While I appreciate being able to bump up on gourmand this much - there's literally no reason that my pet should be dropping to 0/10 every 5 battles against the minis. Nor is there a reason that all of my other pets (who are in the resort) should lose any points at all.

I did the math based on the two hits I got in during the round. It was like...1800 and some change. So, idk what weapons you consider mediocre, but I don't have those I guess. I have decent things but unfortunately I'm not doing that kind of damage and he's not freezing. Also I work and can't sit here all day and fight the lag. The damage requirement is higher than I'm going to manage yet again (every time they change this, it just gets further and further away for me so at this point I'm pretty well tired of trying tbh).

with a t12 pet I think you can deal at least 6k damage per battle... I'm at t11 with mediocre weapons and I can deal at least 4~5k per battle. I mean, rn I think you can't get a full blocker, but when Shinwas Temple Shard rs at crystal shop it's totally obtainable with a week or two massive buying from the 400 sP shops (half baked, the bake stop etc.). Also, freezing and full healing comes handy.

Am i remembering rightly that each pet that battles gets a prize based on how much damage it does or am I confused and it is one prize for all the damage done by the user (i.e. all the pets)?

Yes, this isn't the type of challenger that one user is meant to defeat by themselves. It's a community boss battle, which means everyone does a bit of damage to it individually over time, and you get your individual prizes based on how much cumulative damage you manage to do with your pet(s) by the end of it.

yeah so like...I mathed it out, since I only have weapons I can acquire without having been a battler since before tiers were a thing and I don't really think I have time to get in nearly 9k battles (assuming I do at least 1700 damage with my t12 pet each round I go with him) and also keep my job and sleep.

So I guess that's one more year of no Maniacal Core for me. At this point I don't even know why I bother training and battling because only a small fraction of people can do the necessary to get any of these weapons shrug
