Friendly Thursday: Esmerelda

Esmerelda doesn’t have time for your nonsense. She’s busy deciding on the latest fashion trends and working to keep Subeta looking stunning. Details of the populace’s incompetence do not interest her.

But many things displease Esmerelda. Many MANY things. You’d have to try really hard to get her to stop what she’s doing and focus on you, though. If you can figure out what it is you have to do to grab her attention, be prepared for a one-on-one appointment with the most scathing personal critique of your life. That’s all.

Once you unlock Esmerelda, she will appear in the Secret Tab. Unlocking Esmerelda is not limited to just this month like with our Throwback Challengers. While we'll continue releasing a challenger on the second Thursday, you'll have plenty of time to unlock them.

Oh wait, ignore the 50 items bit, it 1: Doesn't allow that many and 2: Didn't load it as my left button is broken so didn't click/work. I was still wearing Starmates outfit, but only with the items I had in my wardrobe. Still went in to the shop via the map though.

I'm guessing it has to do with wearing at least 5 (or try 10 if that doesn't work) items with a different color in each of their names. It's really hard to nail down a specific solution with so many people having unlocked her already.

It seems it did have something to do with the fact that she loaded 's outfit. Maybe the wardrobe thought she was wearing an outfit? A few people have said using someone else's outfit worked even when the didn't own the items, which sounds like a glitch.

Just got challenged and have a feeling it could be - [Spoiler] Wearing multiple items on the same layer with different colour names within the item's name? I got it with a Deadpool cosplay HA which uses multiple red, black and crimson items layered up but no duplicate items (none are the same item but in a different colour).[/spoiler]

Try different colors like Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Pink, White, Gray, Brown, Black, etc.

I still think we were kind of close with the colors thing. If it's not different colored items in the same layer or same item type, maybe it's just a certain amount of items with a color in the name? Like wearing too many different colors in one outfit so they don't go together, because if you notice her outfit is all just one color...

If that's not it, then I got nothing.

I was working at multiple layers of unflattering items. Nothing worked with this HA until I added three head layers. I did not try one or two head layers first, I just went straight to three. I don't know what the key is, except it appears to be an inability to put together a nice outfit. 8P Outfit Not Found

I only had 3 of the wearables from Starmates, and one Subeautique Invitation in my inventory (nothing else was in my inventory). Then i visited the subeautique. I only wear three items on three different layers. Outfit Not Found

So maybe turquoise and orange? but if there's also a matter of how much you're wearing...hm. I don't know how to test just the colors without possibly not wearing enough items.[/hider]

I don't think the "multiple colors of the same items" works, actually I got with lots of different items in the body layer. I tried with the same item in different colors in legs layer and it didn't work previously... and Starmate's outfit didn't have that many items of different colors, only 6 unique face items

Oh yeah, the thing about different colored versions of the same items would make sense, I was wearing some masks in the face layer that had different colors in the name but otherwise same item, so that's a good theory.

Also you probably do need an active invitation to be able to unlock her, in addition to whatever the solution is.

I think the layer with the multiple items might need to be at the top of the item list in the wardrobe. After looking at outfit, I just went to the wardrobe and tossed several foregrounds on (all showed up on top) and that worked. outfit also has several of the same layer on top.

One other thought - might need something that covers some of your clothing????

I wore 27 items in body layer, but it seems like since 's outfit worked, it's 6 items in the same layer at least, probably the 6 items consecutively, because I wore almost 10 leg items but with other layers between them and it didn't work

I went randomly through my Wardrobe put as many items as I could on without regard to where they should be on top of each other or below and walked through her front door. Success! I have no idea why though.

I think people are on the right track with layers.. maybe it's when you're wearing too many? Maxing out the amount of wearables didn't work but visiting her while wearing something on each layer seemed to work.

Also I did click "vaults" on my sidebar (on the right side) then when I saw all my currency vaults I clicked Sub from there....not sure if that helps/matters.

I put on 30 pieces of clothing and didn't unlock the challenger -- but I had no invites to Subeautique, so I got the "come back when you have an invite". Without changing my avatar, I got an invite and went back, and that unlocked the challenger. Perhaps you need 30 clothing items PLUS an invite to unlock Esmerelda?

I think it definitely has to do with wearing a lot of items in the same layer, but IDK for sure about the specifics of what else you can wear. Like I wore only face items and had to take my other clothing off because it wouldn't work otherwise.
