I'm really glad to see such a tribute. Knowing this has happened hurts, considering that band was one of the ones that had helped me overall with their music years ago. I've been a fan of them for so long and just.. hearing this, I'm really torn up right now. Rest in peace.

When I was in high school, Chester lived across the alley from me and it's always stuck with me how one time he came over just to introduce himself and chill and play ping pong with us. He was so soft spoken and kind and it's always been a memory I've treasured. Not a lot of deaths hit me, but this one is just really close to home.

I'm not bawling my eyes out, YOU'RE bawling your eyes out! I told my mom about this and we got to talking -- she had a friend call her before giving up his life, 20 years ago. She still breaks down and cries about it. Suicide is very real & very devastating. I know it might be hard but once someone makes that choice, there's not back button to press. If anyone has problems, my inbox is open, please know that people care. don't be afraid to ask for help -- it's not weak or shameful to do so.
At first, I felt a bit upset seeing this--my girlfriend attempted last night, so I thought it was some kind of sick coincidence. And now to hear about Chester?

Thank you for this...there needs to be more of an open dialogue about mental illness...for those struggling, just know that you ARE loved and that there are other options.
It's a sad day for sure. I know it feels like no one can help you when you are that deep into depression but there will always be someone out there willing to listen and help. brilliant. thank you for posting these numbers, all of you who have. Suicide may seem like a lonely act, but it's not. You affect more than just yourself. Those you affect are the ones who love the heck out of you. Don't rob yourself of that joy and love. It's yours for the taking.
When you think no one cares. When you think you don't matter. When you think you are a burden or a waste of human breath. Sit back and look back on your life and find just one time when you helped someone (even the smallest act) and remember that you do matter. You are important and you do make a difference, one small moment at a time.

Thank you Chester, Mike and LP in general for helping me going through my late-childhood and teenage years. I also attempted suicide and went to a facility to get help. I remember listening to "somewhere I belong" while going to school and feeling like an outcast. One more light feels heavy on me. Chester, wherever you are, may you rest in peace and be free of whatever you felt heavy. Thank you for shedding a light on my life. Thank you for your lyrics. Thank you for your music.

Oh man... I'd seen the news on Twitter and thought it was sad enough that someone had died so young. Didn't realise until now it was suicide. :( I'm no Linkin Park fan, but this is still awful news. It's gotta be horrible for Chester's friends and family, and for the fans.

It's so sad to think about, a lot of LP's songs helped me when I first started to struggle with depression. I hope the rest of the band's okay, while they deal with this.
Is it weird as a nearly 30 year old woman to say that I kind of get what Nirvana fans felt like when Kurt Cobain lost his life by suicide? Chester Bennington was the voice of the music that spoke to so many teens when it came out, like Nirvana was to teens of that time.

Gah I've avoided most social media bc of this today. I'm not really one to get upset over celebrity deaths, few get to me... but him... </3 I've listened to them literally for over half my life, since I was 12 (and I will be 30 this year). So many of their songs, his lyrics, have helped my through my own problems in my life. "My December" is one of my favorite songs. So, so upsetting to hear about Chester passing. Rest well. </3

This - this is the first I've heard of this. Oh my gosh... chills just went down my spine. I'm absolutely heartbroken and devastated to hear this. I love Linkin Park - they're by far one of my favorite bands. I can't believe this has happened? Oh my goodness... I just. I hope where-ever you are now, Chester, that you have found someplace where you are finally at peace. I'm so sorry this has happened. I just can't believe this. Their music meant so much to me when I was younger, and even now this just feels like a complete blow.
Know that you touched the lives of so many - so many - with your wonderful music. I'll never forget you, as I'm sure many others won't, either. You will always be a part of this world's legacy, even if you've moved on. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this - to his loved ones, and all his fans. Thank you so much Subeta for honoring his memory. He truly will be missed. ❤️
