Also, this doesn't feel like an anticlimax to me. It feels like a prologue to a larger plot with Merana. If it got dropped for a few more years, I'd agree it's an anticlimax, but let's not decide yet!

I've really enjoyed this plot for giving a lot more nuance to what happened with the last Islander plot! Interested to see what happens to Merana from here.
