The art is definitely better and it looks generally nice. Still, the old one had a certain air about it that has been left out in the improvement. The DM Montre revamp from 2 or so years ago (or rather the loss of the old DM) pretty much broke my heart for this very reason. This is often the case with pet revamps - something about the personality and "soul" of the old pet is lost and it's often hard to point out exactly what that is. So, to sum it up: This is really good, but I'll mourn the old Montre.

I was browsing through some of the comments and noticed yours. Foxes are very much canine as they're part of the same canidae family that wolves, coyotes, jackals and domestic dogs are :) Yeah, I agree that it's more coyote-looking than fox, but it's still super cute. You're also allowed to overlay with the current (which might soon become old) art if the look of the DM Montre is changed again. However, the DM Montre was just recently updated a couple of years ago so it might be safe :)
Such an improvement and much needed revamp! ^^ I'm very happy with this change, I've noticed they're pretty stocky but that doesn't really bother me too much.
They look more like the Kumos now... but I actually like that they do. XD The revamp looks great! <3
The only improvements from the original (not the first revamp, the original) are the wings and ears. Everything else looked better originally. This new pet is really stiff. It looks like a plush toy.
it's a nice pet but no longer one that i want to have. i much preferred the thinner, sleeker montre. i feel like the artist held true to the eyes but that's about it. ah well.
this is a huge improvement. the only thing i don't like is the weird sense of depth its ears have. i feel like the revamps are too faithful to the incredibly outdated and generally stylistically awful old art. some people like that, but imo it creates a sort of compromise that ends up making the revamped art look uh... more outdated than it should. i wish that the artists had the freedom (do they? i just have a hunch they don't) to tweak the species enough to turn them away from the ugly old style while keeping them faithful to the smaller details. like, give it a bigger nose that looks like an actual dog's nose, instead of keeping the microscopic nose of the old design. or give it ears that look more like dog/wolf ears, instead of keeping the nonsensical ears of the old art. the wings look friggin great, but they look weirdly out of place on a body that is sporting a wholly different style, you know?
and i hope this doesn't come across as overly critical because the artist did a phenomenal job for what they had to work with. it's just like... idk. allow the artists to broaden their horizons, in a manner of speaking. or if it was the artist's choice, maybe consider doing that for next time? (i'm sorry about my wall of text, i've been trying to put my finger on what bugs me about revamps for a long time and i finally figured it out.)

I personally love the new Montre and I've also come to realize that it's hard to please people who don't like change. If I could compare them, it's like Pokemon genwunners.
I wasn't happy with the last update and this one isn't great for me either.. I kind of hope the darkmatter doesn't get changed any time soon. My girl is supposed to look delicate and sly, not bored and muscular. I mean it's good as a different..look.. but the whole reason I liked the species is because they reminded me of a fox. The new body type looks more canine to me.
God job on the revamp, but all the colours that go with the revamp are so plain. No differences. Same pose, same everything just a change of colour scheme and a few details.

As an owner of a Montre I'm pretty happy with their update! Granted, I have a Galactic one, but I could possibly see myself getting another Montre in the future in one of these colours too.

The shading has improved, yes, but I feel like the quality of the art went down. I think for a montre this looks too smooth or roundish. Something about it just doesn't seem right? Like now it looks so smooth it's almost like clay. It doesn't have enough detail, I think, and all of the texture of it is the same. I don't think this is an improvement at all when identifying all aspects of it.
Yay! Nose got fixed! Too bad the wings are still busted..... They could use some rework, but better than before. Really happy overall with this revamp.
I don't mind if they update the "special" colored ones. But I hope they don't change the pose on spectrum. It's literally the perfect color/pose for Scribblet. <3

The little changes have improved it a lot for me, especially the ear and snout. Good work!

There's some good improvements from the original. I like that the front feet are further apart like how a dogs/canines are. This revamp does indeed make it look more canine and less vupline (tho I liked it being more vulpine myself)- BUT, most people still equate foxes with canines, not really knowing the difference, so I don't see an issue. Anyways- the neck seems a little too small still or the head is a little too big- slightly disproportionate. But it's not a big deal I don't think.
As far as anyone wondering about other colors revamps- the storm is new, it won't be revamped- the bloodred color is a revamp. The only colors I can think of outside of basic that would probably get revamped is reborn and darkmatter, cuz they're a bit outdated- and /maybe/ hydrus, but not sure on that of course.
Overall, it's nice- the wings are still my fave part. Good job on the updates and thanks for keeping on top of all of this. =)

Curious to see how the Storm Montres come out, since my Montre is a Storm. I do like the revamp a bit more than the original, since the nose doesn't look quite so awkward, and the feathers make it look the the Montre's tail is actually moving. It's also just a wee bit larger than the original.
I saw this on the news page and my first thought was literally "well, there's going to be a lot of angry people today, isn't there"? I'm glad to see that there's not nearly as much whining as I expected, lol. I never liked Montres that much, but they look a lot better now!

MUCH better! Thank you so much for taking our feedback into account! That face is precious and perfect now. My one and only twitch about it now is the ears. They seem uneven? If the farther ear was made a bit longer and turned outwards slightly, they would look much better. (OR shorten the closer ear and turn it toward the front of the Montre?)

Does anyone know if there are plans to revamp any of the non-basic posed Montres? I'm debating whether or not I want to change mine into another color, and I really like the Spectrum as it is right now, so it'd be useful to know if it might be changing soon.

Awww, they're cute! The back leg kind of bothers me, because it seems like they're not really sitting, but I enjoy it anyway! I'm so happy they've got a nuclear color, too~. Unfortunately, since the two Montre I have are Galactic and Nightmare, they don't really get anything from the update, but it's still awesome. <3 Now I just need more pet slots...
Overall I like the update, personally. I think the muzzle could have been slightly shorter, the further ear more at an angle away (as it looks a small bit too large/forward facing ?), and the feathers look oddly stiff. But I'm not a montre person so really who cares what I think. XD

I think this revamp is fantastic! For some reason, the Montre is one of those species i just never really noticed or thought about much, even though i love canines and i have a Kumos. However, i always kind of thought the Kumos was lacking something...no idea what; just...something. I feel like the new Montre is that Kumos that is no longer lacking that something and i'm pretty sure i'm going to turn my Kumos into a Montre now...i just have to decide on a color, they all look so nice...

Things I love: The muzzle isn't pointing down anymore. That looked really awkward. The muzzle/nose now looks so much better now.
The detailing is fabulous.
The colours are a lot more vibrant and much better shaded. The flatness isn't there anymore.
Things that I don't care for as much (besides the Kumos-y look to it):
The nose (not muzzle) itself is sooooo super tiny.
The muzzle isn't as pointed as the previous version
The line art is missing under the jaw
Not a fan, but I do like the Golden one. Guess it's a good thing I changed my Montre last week. Just don't ever change the Reborn Demi, please <3
I honestly like it better. I think the ears could be improved upon and the hip that is showing seems small. But it looks nice, more detail it's a good job. Thanks Subeta.
