Submissions for the Get Your Brew On contest are officially closed but voting is open for all!

Almost 300 submissions will show up anonymously. This is to keep the contest from becoming a popularity contest. That means you should not post or give hints on the forums or anywhere else on which submission is yours during voting. Your idea should speak for itself. ;)

Voting will be closing at 11:59pm on September 28th. You can vote for 5 microbrews.

Remember to judge based on what kind of drink is most appealing to you. Don't just go for the best image, take the time to read all the descriptions and everything else provided!

There are a lot more than 5 that are really good, but I have made my choices after a lot of reading!
It's a credit to everyone who entered that there were enough interesting ideas and humour to make me keep going! :)

No. If your entry was a beer, included either the drawing or description of the logo, and wasn't a copyright issue, feel free to make a ticket. Include your entry in the ticket and ask that it gets sent to me please :)

Created a ticket for mine. It's probably too late, but it would be nice to know for future references what went wrong. Good luck to all others! There are really nice ones in there.. I knew a lot of users would come up with amazing descriptions!

Ahh....so that's what happened. I did notice in the older comments that that was addressed, but didn't realize the news post hadn't been updated to reflect those removals. Thank you, that's all I wanted to know.

The news post has been updated to say "almost 300" :) There were 300 originally when I wrote the post up, but we got a few tickets regarding some of the ales etc that were ripping off real world items almost completely, so we had them removed once we looked into it.

I normally don't bitch unless there's a reason for it. At the end of the day, there are 6 qualified submissions that are missing from the pool of 300 due to oversight. The phrase "All 300" translates to 300 entries to choose from. It doesn't get much clearer than that.

I counted those rows over and over again, and double-checked as well.

Thank you, I'll try that. I understand there were obviously going to be submissions that were going to be eliminated, but that still does not account for the newspost stating there 300 entries to choose from, yet only 294 are actually present. That's what I'm bitchin' about. :/

thank you very much! :) A bullet point list of important rules for each contest on the submissions page would be helpful, too. That way everything is transparent and there won't be any upsets.

Also if you're on a pc and are searching for keywords like the name of your own hit ctrl + f and a FIND function will pop up makes it so much easier with big lists on here lol

It may take a bit because only the programmers have access to who submitted what, and it isn't laid our anywhere yet. Include whatever you submitted if you really aren't sure what went wrong, that might help expedite things!

the fact is that it should be reminded for each contest and in a clear, concise and front and center way. It shouldn't be something that's just "remembered" as something like that can be forgotten in the excitement of the contest.

LOL true. There are some amazing entries in there, though. But def should have had several voting rounds. Everyone deserves a chance that followed the rules and worked really hard, but its kind of crazy for the rest of us to see that many and vote 5 out of all of them!

You can't submit content that wasn't yours, that's been the same across the board. I wasn't involved in the screening this time, but for example: we had a lot of entries for our cake contest that were just images people took from other sources. That isn't fair and isn't allowed.

using the notepad widget is such a good idea! I was just going to go through the entire list and click everything I liked, slowly whittle it down and hope I counted to 5 properly x'D

- It's so easy to miss some as you go through! I've gone through the list 4 or 5 times at this point trying to pick my favorites and putting them on the notepad widget to sort later.
I don't know how I'm going to pick just 5.

if images from Google aren't allowed, then that should be in the rules. I never saw anything that said google images weren't allowed as some people can't draw and 500 characters to describe a label isn't enough for some people

This is what I was thinking. IK a lot of people said during another contest that it would have been nice to see all the entries, but I don't think they meant it in this capacity?

It's a contest and there are rules. We make sure all entries posted for voting on follow those rules. We've removed entries for every contest so far. Some that were outright cheating (using images from Google, for example), others that just didn't meet all of the criteria.

I don't remember seeing any kind of pre-screening being mentioned for this contest. I think that anyone who entered should've been given a chance in the voting and not eliminating only a few. There should also be something that tells you if your uploaded image is too big on the submissions page so that there are no disqualifications over image size issues.

If you don't see yours here it's possible that it didn't qualify or wasn't uploaded with the correct requirements.

I think if people really love one of the brew's, they'll change their vote. But if they reset the votes, people may not vote at all, again. Especially seeing as many entries as there are right now. I am sorry to those that haven't had their entry show up, though. But in general, giving users over 300 options was never the way to go about this :/

Mine isn't showing up either, which really isn't that much of an issue but is a little disappointing since it says all of the entries should be there. A lot of these entries are super detailed, I'm glad to see people put so much thought into this

All the votes don't need to be cleared, though. They don't technically count until 9-28, and you can still change them I believe, until then. They need to add the few entries they did forget, however. Then edit this post to make everyone aware that wants to go back and check them out.

It seems as though I'm not alone in my entry not appearing in the list. I think all votes should be cleared, all entries re-uploaded and then voting re-opened so that it gives everyone a fair chance

Also going to add that I don't see how just 5 will be chosen out of about 300 entries, by the time the 28th comes around? I assumed there would be this round and maybe a final round to determine?
