Coming Soon to the Antique Shop: Reading Drive Prizes

A big shipment is coming to the Antique Shop soon! On October 1st all of the Reading Drive prizes will be added to the Antique Shop. Don't worry, the prices will be much more reasonable than those pricy pirate and expensive island items were.

You will have until 11:59pm on September 30th to spend your Reading Drive points. However, this time you will not be able to cash out remaining points after the conversion. So spend your points now, or they'll be gone forever!

If you have any remaining pirate or islander points to convert, you'll also need to do this by September 30th, as this option will disappear and any remaining points will be deleted then, too.

Will the items be priced equally depending on how much reading points they were (like a ratio)?

The expensive prizes almost always take more than one drive's worth of points to complete (unless you're crazy and turn in every book on-site or something). RDs haven't been officially canceled (even now! People are just presuming that's the case due to this announcement).

They've had time, yes, but when it's something like this that encourages saving because it's the same currency every time that argument is a lot less valid.

The RS war points were saved and that argument would really apply there (since each war has gotten it's own currency) so even Subeta's precedent is lacking.

the last reading drive was two years ago. 8 days or one month won't make much of a difference in this case because everyone has had plenty of time to spend all their points.

Also, newsletter != email blast. Someone who hasn't been playing might or might not read a newsletter.

For example, just today I got an email from OneDrive, that they're removing a feature. The subject line is: "Important message from One Drive about your feature". I also have 3+ weeks to react. That's just... normal.

Deleting points is brutal. I was also hoping to get off easy and convert my points to sP because I really don't want to have to buy things I don't like, just to sell them off and compete with Antique Shop prices. :[

Bummer, I missed all the other reading drives and was hoping we'd eventually have one. Oh well. At least I can save for some expensive WL items. :)

Last I checked the newsletter -still- has issues going out to everyone, and someone who's not even semi-actively playing isn't exactly checking social media either so that's really a non-sequitur. If you don't see why losing points is a big deal, then you really don't see the feedback given most times there's a RD - it's a massive sP sink/sacrifice, and people feel the need to save up points over the years.

Sorry, but I still -heavily- disagree. It's one thing to do things expediently. It's another entirely to do them too hastily. The recycle beast still has the damn Peekaboo items ffs... Subeta's 'default' is 'you have plenty of time'. As it should be. It's a casual game. 8 days is a ridiculous turnaround for something so permanent.

A month would be way more reasonable, without being so far in the future it'll be forgotten or anything like that.

Weâ€™re deleting the points of the pirate/islander points at the same time as reading drive. Weâ€™re doing a newsletter to talk about our holidays coming up, limited time things like pirate challengers and these points. Weâ€™re also putting this out on social media (twitter, FB). It's not like they're loosing the ability to get the items from the shop, if they come back they'll just have to spend sP on them rather than their points.

What the fuck I have been saving books for almost 4 years now oh well guess my pet is about to get really smart lol and I loved the reading drive it was a blast to collect books and then turn them in for some cool ass prizes I have had the Emerald Healing Staff since it was available now every one will have access to it at all time there goes a price decrease in my weapons again what the hell man

Yep, they sure are. But that's the point. They're rare, otherwise unobtainable items. You aren't supposed to just be able to snap them up immediately. You work towards them, gradually getting them. Goals, people. It's not always about instant gratification.
