Reading Drive Ends Soon!

Archie would like to remind everyone that today is the last day to turn in your books to the reading drive!

This means that it is also the last day to earn points by completing library quests and helping Alexander find his missing pages. Rumor has that clues are popping up much more frequently now.

Not gonna lie. All the changes in plots are both upsetting and amazing. Monotony isn't always good. I was just so prepared for this one. And then. Well. I wasn't. Haha. And my job was just so perfectly in the way when the site wasn't super laggy. I had fun when I could actually participate though :)

And thank you for extending. I had a couple books to turn in last night that I couldn't from my phone because of the lag.

I seriously tried to finish the very last part (battle) of the plot yesterday for over 4 hours at different times. I love how on a popular day off it's so convenient for the site to mess up. Now I probably won't even be able to complete the very last part of the plot, despite me being on the very last leg, since I'm at work now. How wonderful.

I think it was a good call to not reset the cron because of how long the problems went on yesterday.

You can only turn in non-restockable books this year! Like the ones you can buy from the cash shop, the Token shop, or those you can get as battle loot or a free gift or an event.

Thank you for a wonderful event! This was by fr my favorite reading drive--and this is coming from someone who hoarded books for 3 years and wasn't able to turn in the majority of them! XD the library quests and the scavengee hunt really made it entertaining this year and since I was able to turn in my hoarded books when doing library quests, I was not upset about the new rules. You guys kept me involved throughout the entire event and since I have very little time, 1 week was the perfect length for this. Can't wait to see the prize shop!!!

Thanks for that bit of extension! :) I was able to turn in a few more books (and buying a bunch from the cash shop, too), and I'm very satisfied with my total of 356 books. The RD was great this year, thanks a lot for that. Can't wait to see the prizes.

Please, don't add days to play - too stressfull :P Besides that, I enjoyed this event A LOT. It was entertaining, really something new, and not so simple - but not impossible. As a bookworm, I love Archie, and yes, I wish I could read ALL of these books - but for real! Thanks for letting us dream~

I thought that this was a fantastic event. Not only did it increase participation on the site (to the point where the servers can't even handle it anymore, haha), it was so much more interactive and fun than the previous reading drives. My favorite part was definitely the scavenger hunt; it was so much fun trying to figure out the clues, and the prizes were gorgeous! Overall, a definite success. :) Well done staff!

Like many, many others I was bummed that we couldn't turn in restockable books at first, but I still could use them in the Library Quests, which gave points, too. I was so darn active on Subeta this week, it was so much fun. I could buy so many special books through selling normal ones which I got through vending, the retired books made a great addition for my reading pet and oh my god the SCAVENGER HUNT. Awesome. It included so many features of Subeta, of which many were probably forgotten by most. And oh those beautiful rewards...! I could go on and on. Thank you for this nice week, Subeta team!

Thank you for this event. Sure, I still don't agree on the non-rs book turn in thing, but I think staff did plenty to have other chances of gathering points like library quests, the changes to vending/restock rate, and the awesome scavenger hunt. I can't wait to see the prize shop. c:

Yay I got to my goal! So happy! Time to wait patiently for the prize shop. I'm so excited! I was a bit anxious about this RD because of the changes but I love the library quests giving points and the scavenger hunt was oodles of fun! That fairy bg omg!!!! Bean you're amazing! And I helped people out with my cheap list. And I made lots of sps selling books. So yeah. Nice one subeta!!! Now where's the prize shop!!! Haha. Patience isn't my strong suit....

Honestly, what good is getting another day going to do? It's just going to be equally glitchy and slow - perhaps more so - and you won't be able to accomplish anything the next day either.

For someone who claims to be all about Subeta, you are acting really rude towards some of the posters.

The problem is clearly with Subeta. It seems like their server can't handle the amount of traffic from so many people logging and playing all at once, along with many, many other problems and bugs that can be documented in the forums. When not getting 502 page errors every other second, many of the other features were not working/crashing, including Library Quests and venues/activities required for Alexander's side quest.

oh my god PLEASE DON'T EXTEND THIS EVENT. the lag will kill me. and also i want to see the prize shop already lol.

i wanted to also say that when i saw the first announcement that the RD was returning, but archie would only accept non-restockable books, i was a bit worried, but i didn't say anything cause i wanted to at least first give it a try. this was my first reading drive, so i can't base my opinion off of one in the past, but ASIDE FROM the lag and 502 shit, i enjoyed it. the challenge of getting these books rather than just a bunch of hoarding common books was fun, and i liked that all users were capable of doing this event. it never got real difficult. i really liked the scavenger hunt and the interaction between users to solve them/help each other.

so yes, all that said, i think the event was nice. thank you, staff. c:

Okay this thread has too many negative comments. At first I was sadden by the changes, but after the little events every day and being able to do quests to get points made it more enjoyable for me. No, I wasn't able to earn very more points than I would have in previous times, but it was way more fun getting to do something everyday instead of mass collecting. Can't wait to see the prizes. I hope I can get the things I really want ^_^

This was my first Reading Drive and aside from the errors I think it was pretty enjoyable. I didn't send in as many books as most people it seems like, but I did what I could, just gotta hope for the best I guess!

As disappointed as i am about not being able to get much of anything book related done tonight and missing the achievement i can appreciate that it is probably my own fault for not grabbing the last few books i needed sooner...the site wasn't quite so glitchey thismorning so i probably should have done a little more hunting then...

So yes, i am slightly gutted for missing out because of the continous errors but i do understand that this wasn't anyones fault, i can't imagine the down time was intentional...i'm sure subeta staff don't enjoy people raging on at them about something that couldn't be helped - just one of those things i guess :/

Well I don't know if the delayed reset was on purpose or not and I am NOT wading through the bullshit comments to find out, so if it was I just wanted to say a big thanks. I couldn't do my quests earlier because of the constant site fails so it was nice to be able to finish them up tonight. I'll take every point I can get. ;)

why should people get over being promised 7 days and only given slightly over 6? why not just ask for compensation? what has anyone got to lose by asking for another day and/or getting another day & why do you think comments like 'just get over BLANK' are or have ever been relevant?

LOL yet yours is the invalid. What if she read all of the things you said. This is too hilarious. You arent going on but you are in a way you think is valid. Good luck man. All I gotta say is I dont see news posts or reset yet. Im sure they are working something out. I just tried and I believe it let me turn a book in still. I guess well see how it goes. Im just still bummed that my quest is stuck and I cant finish it due to errors.

DanteAmaya, I don't get how some people's complaints are less valid because they weren't dedicated enough or whatever you're carrying on about. No matter how involved people were, everyone lost a chunk of time they deserve to be able to use.

don't be silly, DanteAmaya. no one cares whether you feel sorry for them or not; the point here is a day was lost thanks probably to the server not being good enough to handle events. people want compensation and i see no reason it shouldn't be given. i am fairly certain it will be, in fact, judging from prior conduct.

For what it's worth, I would 100% completely support an extension, and I finished my quests every day, plus the scavenger hunt and turned in all the books I'm going to (even if I were to get another couple from Alexander my achievement is at a nice even 110 and I don't want it stuck at like 113 or something forever :P ). But there have been ridiculous amounts of errors today, and while I've been online most of the day and found time here and there when they weren't bad to get my quests done, not everyone has that luxury and an extension for those people would be really nice. Though I'm not sure what's wrong that nothing has rolled over for today :/

Lol actually I completed everything I could do, so no pouting here. I was simply pointing out that if this happens during every event then maybe they should do something differently. Not really sure how that is an excuse for me.

For those who need an extension, I hope you get one. I probably wont participate any more than what I have done. I need to save what little sp I have left :P

I can't help but notice that it's a new day and my Library quests haven't been reset. I'm taking that as a sign that they're giving people some extra time to finish those. So don't give up! Waves pompoms ^_^

Also, DanteAmaya: I dont exactly think its a lack of planning btw. Last event was finish able. They added a final day of the event and instantly in that it began to 502. Meaning that even if you were up that early doesnt mean that everyone in many diff timezones had a chance to be awake before it was hard to finish the event. So...While I agree there is always some issue, its not easy to tell exactly when it will start to have issues. And for me trying at noon and having it 502 every page made that very hard to get to the day 7 bits.

If Archie doesn't want my books, all he needs to do is say so. He doesn't need to take the whole site down so that I leave him alone :(

For someone like me who has a very irregular schedule and just does not have the luxury of being on here for long periods of time, the errors on the site have literally made it impossible for me to even get into my vault to see the last few pages and take the books out that I need to turn in. And according to my watch I have about 21 minutes before Archie is gonna shut it down.

Forget what I said, it's now 20 past midnight...ah well. Maybe I'll get them all in next year.

Some of us don't have every second of our lives to spend on here

Well then maybe the "better planning" needs to be done by someone else and not us...

Seriously? These excuses are as old as the Internet. You know the solution? Deep breath, move on. (Pout if you must.)

  1. You choose how you spend your time; those of us who are done chose how to spend ours.
  2. Subeta does the best it can.
  3. Nothing new to see here folks.... moving on.
