Update: Ambulance took me to the ER yesterday afternoon. My oncologist said for me to get in there for a neurological eval. STAT. My head was pounding, my eyesight was off, the tia's had started again and my speech was like I just learned how to talk.

After waiting in the ER hallway for 3 hours, with 12 others on gurnies, I finally spoke with a resident dr. (eye roll). He asked me what was going on and I told him in descriptive detail. Plus I offered him the disc I was carrying of the mri findings from last friday, which he happily accepted to upload. He took 5 vials of blood and set a needle into my arm in case they needed more later, then he disappeared.

Four hours later someone came and wheeled me into an available ER room. They hooked me up with so many things that I could not move in a bed that was constricting and extremely uncomfortable. My head was pounding. I was peeing every 40 minutes like clockwork and the nurses were getting pissed and not hiding it. Finally one nurse said I had to get into a gown, which should have been done way before now. She never told me to take off my pants and in fact said I could leave them on. Very weird!! I went thru a living nightmare with trying to use the bathroom. She finally handed me weird looking thing so I could just pee in the bed. I was like, what?? No way, this is too unnatural and doesnt seem to be properly explained at all. She left.

In came another old nurse, dressed like she was going to a bar. Looked about 69 but acting like she was 21. Face buried into her phone. Never said Hi, nothing. Just yelled to me, "youre going for a cat scan". I said, I cant - Im waiting to go to the bathroom. She flipped out on me and said. "Look you can pee right in the bed, youre hooked up to this thing. Its too late to go now because I unhooked it so youre out of luck".

She must have been used to patients just buckling under her ignorant manners but I turned my head to her and yelled back, "Excuse the fock out of me. Who do you think youre talking to"??? She stopped, looked up and at me. I continued to tell her that before the night was over I would be reporting her bahavior and lack of compassion to her patient to the Patient Services Liason. She basically flipped me off. She sent me down for the cat scan with a pissy bed. When I got there I was in tears. The 2 young techs cleaned me all up and changed the bed after my scan and took me back to my room.

Finally by 10:45pm the resident dr. returned to tell me what was going on. He said "first off, I had a consult with 4 different departments over the findings of your disc. Are you aware that you have cancerous masses all over the inside of your head?" Actually NO I did not. MY oncologist, whose ass is going to be mine come Monday, only told me about the ONE. He said well none of the departments could assume you as their patient as it was out of their expertise except one. That was your long time Radiologist Sunjay Shah who it seems has been with you since day one back in 2001. He will contact you on Monday about palliative comfort care thru radiation on the mass thats on your jugglar. I also need to ask you if you want pain meds or any steroids. I looked at him very puzzled and said, why would you be asking me that? Arent you drs suppose to be telling me what I need? Ok, lemme just say No to both until I can speak with Dr. Shah who I trust with everything.

So as it stands, I am being reminded that Im on palliative. I keep forgetting once I feel better. The treatments are not keeping the cancer at bay like it used to and I am nearing the end of the whole course. I will do what I can to get as many days as I can but only God knows what I am in store for...Due to the severity of my pain, I may not be on at all. Im not positive but I am assuming. Once the radiation starts I have no idea what its going to effect. Thanks again for listening to my babble!! Love you guys!! <3 <3

NOW we all know there are amazing medical professionals out there,but these few are giving them a bad name and reputation.

Some people are just idiots and I wish that I had the power to give them back what they deserve. We are all praying for you and I personally have arranged for my priest to dedicate a mass for you.

The old nurse could use a course in patient relations,maybe a brush up on manners and common decency.If i was working there she'd hear from me for sure buds.I'm still saying prayers for your healing. Kumos scratchcard You won 10,000 sP!

I know you're overwhelmed, don't have a lot of time and probably don't have anyone to help you, but if you don't have a lawyer, get one. That oncologist is supposed to tell you everything going wrong, not just one thing. They withheld important medical information and depending on where you are, that's highly illegal. The nurses will be harder to go after but I would just report that hospital in general, (though it may not do any good. They're like cops who investigate themselves.) I'm sorry the medical world has given up on you and is treating you so poorly in what needs to be your most treasured days.
