No, you're right, it did look promising there for a few days! And I really do want to be optimistic and positive about Kumos. It's confusing that Mauve's quest is so messed up because it's like some effort will be made to fix it but the same thing just keeps happening and the requests get more and more expensive until they're not worth doing. I can only guess it's like I said, and the pool of items he requests from changes occasionally, but not often enough. And that pool is not large enough either. I don't know why his quests in particular are so susceptible to this effect though; ALL the quests are super repetitive.

agreed with the sentiment of all quests being repetitive. bagels, bobble heads and blueberries are so ingrained into our mind it's unreal. we keep trying to be hopeful and keep hope for kumos since it seems as though it is the end goal (since legacy is spaghetti) but it's also hard to see these wins just fly by. it's demoralising to even continue questing on kumos as everything seems to be inflating, and gaining sp is not as easy as it used to be. the csc prices speak for themselves. with less active folk on the site it just seems like a rat race.

Now I'd say Mauve definitely has been changed! Almost everything he asked for tonight was available in the Kumos shops. Previously, he only asked for things that were out of stock on Kumos (I guess because otherwise, canonically, you're buying clothes directly from him just to give them back to him, which is silly, but gameplay-wise we just have to be able to buy the stuff cheap to profit from quests). Anyway, whether the quests make sense or not, they were a breeze tonight and were all lucrative. Thank you!

Mauve was better but this is one of the wildly inflated items he was asking for a few days ago. I have only got 2 so can't bring the price down quickly from the curent 49,000,000 sP

Omg Mauve is making me feel like I'm taking crazy pills! NOTHING he asked for was in stock in the Kumos NPC shops tonight. I was able to do all the quests but one of the items was a little inflated (a regular not-rare restockable over 40k)... and there were some items requested multiple times, of course, so I expect this pool of items to inflate as well. Either yesterday was a fluke or whatever "fix" was made didn't hold up.

😔 back onto the issue of quests not completing properly. had Saggi fail to turn in final quest, locked up saying we had done all 3 when we had only done two, and still showing items required for the final one. didn't even get to keep the items from hitting 'give up'.

mauve also continuing to be an issue. do wish that a staff member would comment on this thread to give feedback and insight, as it feels as though feedback here isn't being reciprocated, be it positive, neutral or negative. Not sure what we're supposed to be talking about when it comes back to feedback, when we get nothing in regards to what we post.

Feels as though there's no point in continuing to bring up issues if nothing is being brought up on site. Don't want to go off site for updates.

This is moreso a request rather than a report, but it's kinda nuts that it's not a thing yet - can we please get a proper "you don't have the required items" message for quests? Having it go to a 404 error page if you try to turn in a quest without the required items is very jarring and interrupts quest flow a lot, at least for me. Especially with how finnicky kumos currently is with items not registering as being in the inventory/shop purchases not going through.

I'm sure this is on the to-do list but I'd appreciate some word on the status of it if nothing else.

Unrelated to above post but Mauve is still entirely broken. Two quests in a row now I've had unobtainable items, with the second quest having two of the things:

Mauve back to ridiculously inflated items again. Why can't his quests include items from Sole Train and Accessory Bin?

In-quest hover not working correctly on the lower items - not srollable, only link to Kumos Shop Search visible/clickable. Works on the small item images on top, but that's tedious because of size.

A by now long time issue (since after when all quests were broken with being unfinishable): On individual quest giver pages, it always says "Daily Limit: 5 quests remaining today" - no countdown, even after having done all quests.

I guess the Mauve problem is finally happening with Pete too. He keeps asking for the same few items as always, including and which are now extremely inflated (499,999 sP and 850,000 sP on usershop search respectively).

Also, yesterday a Blue Building quest asked me for some jewelry item (something from All That Glitters, I'm pretty sure) and it was completely out of stock on shop search so I couldn't complete the quest. Blue quests always ask for cheap, plentiful items so that was strange... and normal restockables really shouldn't ever be out of stock. I'm just guessing but I bet all available copies went to Kumos quests. And of course a bunch of the clothes Mauve asks for are ridiculously inflated or sold out. The repetitive nature of these quests is starting to have a noticeable negative impact on the legacy shops. :(

Maleria and Saggitarius are getting pretty bad too. They have a lot of overlap in their item pools. and are all hyper inflated and nearly wiped out on shop search. R90+ items shouldn't be getting requested multiple times a day from multiple quest givers.

I've been stalking the shops for some of these items to try and bring them back down, but it's just not possible to keep up with how often they're being requested.

The quest requests are out of control, and I lost sP because I didn't recognize it soon enough. Maleria asked for Evil Quill and I didn't notice the price until after buying. It was 650k and she only gave me 200k. Then I thought, "Okay, I'll make up the loss with Sagg quests." No, he asked for even higher priced items and I had to cancel the quests!

It was great in the beginning of these tests when the quest givers would reward you with comparable sP. If I paid 1,000,000 for an item, I'd get back over 1,000,000 sP. If that's not possible, then there should be a cap on the value of the requested items.

saggi hits us with unbuyables, like , or other items that are terribly overinflated. we've already cut down on the kumos quests we were doing, but with other quests becoming increasingly choked with prices, what are we supposed to do? we know there is a stellar effort of users to stop inflation (extremely appreciated, all of you), but when are we going to get staff input?

skipping most of saggi, not even bothering with mauve, maleria sharing pool items with saggi, pete asking for 600k+ items... it's not looking good, has testing been put on the back burner?

also noticing that, as pointed out, items like are also becoming to creep up in price and and rarely stocked because kumos wizard asks for them very often, which makes main site quests less profitable. it's just a bit disconcerting that there is no word back on any of this, especially since many of the issues called out, such as:

• item pool repetition
• item pool sharing
• R90+ restockable issues

... have all been said here, weeks or months prior to it becoming an even bigger issue. it should not be up to the community to help stave off hyperinflation of items when we get radio silence from staff. especially since there are pages of reports of all of this. if this is the future of questing, its not promising.

Good point about Maleria and Saggi asking for the same items... multiple times per day... every day. Completely unsustainable.

There's this too: They both keep asking for this pretty much every day and the stock is getting thinned out. Just one more example.

I had to skip a Kumos Saggi quest today because he asked for - another item out of stock.

At the same time, I've been noticing the values of lots of Super Rares taking a big dive. Either because they've been given out repeatedly as Kumos quest prizes or, I'm speculating based on some observation, because too many have been made available for purchase from Kumos NPC shops. The economy here has always been quite stable in general, and I guess I've always taken for granted how well the legacy quests and shop restocks were balanced. Kumos is extremely unbalanced and it's affecting gameplay on the regular site even for players who don't participate in Kumos testing, which doesn't seem like a great way to test. Unless what we're actually testing here isn't new quests but the resiliency of the Subeta economy. Maybe Keith just wants to see how broken it can get lol

Since the topic has come up I think I might as well state that I've basically given up on questing for now. It used to be part of my daily routine. I'd load up at reset, do the Kumos quests and chase them with main site Shinwa, Wizard and Saggi (along with whoever is Weekend Quest). But recently I've just... not been doing any. I grab my Bathhouse and then I ignore the site.

The Kumos quests were already beginning to wear thin for me with the constant connection issues, poor site optimization, undeclared changes, repeated item pools, overinflation and half the stuff being asked for from certain questgivers just being straight up unavailable. At first it was still tolerable since it was mainly just Mauve, but now with it bleeding over into the other quest givers and now even the main site quests being affected? Nah, no more. I'm done. It just straight up isn't worth it anymore.

The cherry on top, as many have pointed out, is the lack of communication. Ever since the original thread got auto-locked at 1k, we haven't had a single post from staff on this topic. This thread was started back at the end of March, it's now almost September. What used to be a pretty good back-and-forth between the development team and those of us trying to test the new website has become a bunch of us just kinda screaming into the void hoping for changes while nothing happens and the Subeta economy bleeds itself dry. Even with staff members having been directly pinged multiple times we don't get a single response.

So that's it for me, at least for the time being. Subeta's quests are currently not worth the trouble for me, and I've stuck with them since 2009.

Is there any chance of you starting a suggestions thread for how to fix the Kumos quests? It might be easier for you to keep track of things than wading through pages of general comments.

I think Keith should want to read through this whole thread (and for all we know, he has been). It's not general chatter; we've been giving feedback and bringing up valid issues. It just looks like a lot because they keep happening and we keep reporting on the worsening situation.

we also feel that it should be up to the development team to fix the bugs present on a testing/alpha build of questing and not the populace who have taken mantle of being testers and, as pointed out have given nothing but feedback and issues, not "general comments".

we cannot speak for anyone else, but we have been trying to report on both the good and the bad, as to not make it seem as though everything else is negative as we do not want to discount the teams efforts in going forward with this new system. however, it is extremely hard to help and give feedback when we arent getting anything from the staff.
