I don't know if this has been mentioned, but I don't like getting an event message saying 'Voting is over, thanks for participating', it feels kind of like a letdown to know this way that I haven't won, especially after all the work put into making the HA. I also then have to make my own way to the contest to see who did win.
An event message saying 'Contest name is over, check out the results here' would feel better. I would also like to see the winning avatars without having to click on each one.
I am loving the contests though, I have entered quite a few and I hope people keep making them.

Bugs?
Entry Eligibility: This is a curated contest where entries require creator approval. The contest creator will review each submission and approve entries that meet the contest criteria. 2 contests with this enabled, people are entering without approval, or is there another (later?) stage wheren creators have to approve? Edit: contest ended, and creator approval does not work at all.
Each user gets ONE vote for their favorite entry Tested this out with 2 contests: I selected 5 votes per user (being able to stack), but it keeps mentioning 1 in the rules
2nd and more page of Completed contests give a 404 error
Suggestions?
not being able to adjust contests after creation
not being able to adjust voting time - is this always 24 hrs, longer voting time should be nice (being able to choose how long would be even nicer)
creators don't see username or avatar names of entries - anonymous voting of public is fine, but being able to approve specific users (not friends but members of groups) would be nice (if/when approval works)
can you vote on your own entry? If yes: What if everyone who entered only votes once for their own entry, how are prizes distributed?
hopefully feedback is actually being monitored, and this is not one of those projects of let's start something new, only works halfway as intended, and then abandoned for something new?
a few things i've noticed / am wondering about...
contests not showing up to enter have we figured out why some contests aren't showing up as options to enter for some people / some of the time? for example no matter what i did or which avatar i selected or how many times i re-saved my outfit, the sims contest never showed up as an option for me to enter, despite fulfilling all of the requirements.
now i've made my first contest and someone alerted me that they couldn't enter, even though i didn't set any restrictions on entries. so i did some testing by clicking the "enter in contest" button on various outfits of mine; most of them did not show my contest as available to enter, along with a couple other contests. but some of the time, some avatars DID show it as an option. in that case the workaround seemed to be re-saving the outfit until it worked.
is there an option (or combination of options) when setting up contests that's causing some of them to be problematic? it would at least be good to understand the issue so we can understand the best way to circumvent it, until whatever underlying problem might exist can potentially be fixed...
prize system this is fairly minor as i was able to work around it, but the method of adding prizes and choosing which one is the prize for which place when creating a contest is a little bugged. when i added items to the prize list, the option for all of them was stuck on 1st place, with no other options on the dropdown menu—even though i had set up the prize money with a 1st-5th place distribution. i eventually figured out that returning to the previous section and then going forward again to the prizes section allowed the other options to show up on the dropdown, but then i made a mistake and didn't notice until i got to the last page, so i had to go back... and when i did, all the prizes had been removed, so i had to re-add them and then go through the "previous-next" process again to get their numbering correct.
lack of clarity around voting when creating a contest, you have options for how many votes people have and whether or not they can stack their votes on a single entry. however when participating in a contest, it's not immediatley obvious that these options exist or what they do. the contest info page always says "Each user gets ONE vote for their favorite entry" but i know at least for my contest that this isn't true; i gave everyone 3 votes, but this is not being communicated to entrants.
and then when voting, there is no way to actually see how many votes you have, unless the contest creator enabled vote stacking in which case you'll have two vote options (a single vote and a stacked vote)—but again the function of these options is not communicated to the user; you just sort of have to guess what it means. and when you try to spread your votes among several different entries, i believe only your latest vote appears in the "your current vote" box, so there's no easy way to see where all of your votes went or if you have any left.
notification links some contest notifications (for when voting has started and when the contest has ended) contain a link to said contest, but sometimes the notification does NOT contain a link, so i have to go track down the contest myself. not a huge deal but the inconsistency is kind of confusing.
pagination right now, trying to navigate to any of the other pages of the "completed" section results in a 404 error; you can kind of work around this by changing the number of contests shown to 50 to get them all on one page, but obviously that won't let you see everything once there have been more than that.
Currently unable to enter Frenchi's contest despite remaking and resaving my outfit multiple times. However, I can enter any outfit that I own the items for. And I can't enter any that I don't meet the ownership requirement. It seems like it is showing up for me as an ownership contest when it's not. :/
Was finally able to enter Frenchi's contest however now it says "Each entrant gets one vote." during voting, but we are very clearly given 3 votes. Very confusing.
Also having the issue of a contest not showing up to enter despite ensuring I was following all criteria
Could there maybe be a way to select a range of rarities of clothing for HA contests? I feel like with the way the page is laid out right now the additional rules get overlooked. At the moment you can still enter with CWs even though the contest rules say 'no CWs' and then allowed to vote for it once it goes into the voting phase
EDIT: Apparently there's already an option to tick to allow CWs, maybe it was a mistake on the creator's part then
I'm here merely to express my annoyiance with the text editor in Kumos. It simply doesn't work and the rules/guidelines for the contests are left a mess. C'mon guys, it's such the most basic feature...
a few more thoughts for now:
no self-voting i noticed that for a brief window, entrants were unable to vote for themselves. i liked this change and thought it was the intended restriction going forward, but then i noticed it became possible again. i feel like being able to vote for yourself sort of spoils the spirit of the competition. especially seeing how few votes end up going out and the number of users tying for places just by virtue of being the only entries that got 2/3/4 votes—and when more people tie than there's room for in the placing, someone inevitably gets left off the list and doesn't win anything despite having the same number of votes as the winners, which is a bummer. or maybe contest creators can have the option to enable or disable self-voting on a per-contest basis.
please just show winners right now when a contest is over, winners show up as a text list that you have to click through in order to see each outfit. it should really just be the case that you can see all the winners' outfits in one table with labels for where each one placed. it's a contest about outfits, so i want it to be easy to visually see all the winning outfits at once!
additionally, while notifications about contest voting link to the contest page, notifications about contests ending do not. i think they should both link to the contest, because if a contest i entered ends, of course i want to go see the results even if i didn't win! so why make me go the long way instead of just giving me the link?
can't remove entries? i've only tried it on one contest for now, but i tried to remove my entry because i made a small change and wanted to use the updated version, but no matter how many times i clicked "remove entry" it wouldn't actually remove the entry, so i can't enter a different avatar. maybe if i deleted the old outfit it would automatically withdraw me and then i could re-enter with a different one, but i don't really want to take that risk in case it breaks something and prevents me from entering at all.
what's up with the "contest rules & information" section? it seems to be the case that this section is automatically collapsed to save space on the page, but it's not immediately obvious that this is a header you can click to expand; by default it just looks like a header with nothing under it, leading me to initially think that meant there were no additional restrictions. at one point i spent hours making "the perfect" entry to a contest only to realize i couldn't enter, and then spent a bit scrambling to figure out why not, only to eventually realize there were additional restrictions and CWs were not allowed. i was able to re-make it without CWs but it took some time and hassle lol.
it's also weird because it basically means the contest has two discrete places for the creator to enter a description/explanation, but it's not so clear-cut which one should contain what info, so it ends up separating things in an arbitrary and ambiguous way. i think the contest info/description should just be one text box where creators put all the explanation and rules they want to say about it, and the other established information can speak for itself.
i think this section being so bulky that it "needs" to be collapsed is actually just a symptom of the broader poor design and layout choices that kumos displays as a whole. the excessive padding and margins, the needlessly oversized text elements scattered about, the way everything has to be in its own little discrete card, inside another card, inside another card, for no real reason... plus the "how to enter" section on that page is reduntant since two sections below that provides the exact same intructions and link. i think it can go and i also think the overall layout, sizing, and styling still needs a lot of rethinking—but that goes for the entirety of kumos which i know is a whole undertaking. the problem with building the site piecemeal like this is that different, seemingly random decisions are being made for every single page individually, creating a frustrating lack of cohesion or predictability.
Hey everyone! 👋
I'm excited to share some major improvements to the Avatar Contest system based on all your feedback! I know it's been a bit since I checked in, but I have been looking at your feedback and getting it into a major update!
Contest lists now show at-a-glance indicators:
The voting system now clearly shows:
All contest pages now use consistent, polished headers with:
Contest creators now have access to:
Enjoy the improved contest experience, and happy creating! 🎨✨
Feel free to report any issues or share suggestions for future improvements. The contest system is constantly evolving based on your feedback!

once again now that the links actually work 😭
💖 ✨ 🤗
I'm on mobile, and the contest page seems to be no longer be mobile friendly. I had to reduce my font settings in order to open the contests, because it no longer scrolls sideways, and the page is too big for my screen. I'll edit this and show screenshots, because I'm sure that I'm not explaining this correctly.

Are you having this problem on every page on kumos (e.g. the forums as well) or just that page?
💖 ✨ 🤗
This is the same problem people have been posting about with regard to quests starting here. It also affects some (but not all) other pages; I posted more details here.
This CSS snippet should be a temporary fix.
it seems to only be on the contest page on kumos. I am unable to scroll to the right to view the contests. ..and I had to switch to desktop mode to even see half of the page across all of kumos.. everything was working fine 2 days ago.

Thank you!! Just pushed up a fix that should remove .overflow-hidden from those parts of the site it got added to 😰

AH THANK YOU. As a creator, not having a dashboard where we could view, manage or edit anything with our text (Because yay, autocorrect and typos), was really confusing. I haven't tried this yet, but am excited to do so and see how much better it will be!
