Currency refuses questing - still says "could not find enough available items"
I'm sorry, I thought I posted - I've merged in the code to the main https://kumos.subeta.net/quests, so that is where you should be initiating quests from. I'll take down currency.kumos.subeta.net since it's done testing.
working today on making it take less clicks (and generally be more mobile friendly, all of the pages that you need to navigate to) - but i'm honestly not sure how it's more clicks than legacy, or maybe i'm misunderstanding?
click to start 🔎 to open shop search click to buy item from shop search 🔎 to open other item in shop search click to buy item click to finish quest
it seems like the same number of clicks / steps. is it because it takes up the top of the screen on mobile and that makes it hard to navigate? you can minimize it, but i think that probably doesn't persist between tabs (i could make it if that would be useful).

Are things going to stay with the shop search being separated the way it is, or will it be possible to have it 'combined' so that we can see NPC shop price vs user shop price on the same page again? I feel like that's the main complaint, and a big part of what makes things feel so much slower (besides the lag and the buttons not always working as intended, which is obviously something I know you'd like to fix and therefore not something I'm as concerned about...) Most NPC shop prices seem lower than user shops, but there are exceptions and I feel like everyone is in the habit of wanting to check just to maximize profits. I keep doing so myself out of habit, even though a few thousand sP is basically nothing lol.
Aside from that, it feels like the same amount of clicks to me.

just pushed out some 📱 mobile fixes:
p-2 to every element to make sure text isn't touching the sides, but that padding really adds up💖 ✨ 🤗
thanks for keeping trying on this
So since the top bar has started, I’ve used this exclusively to do quests. As far as I could see, when I did scroll down to the actual quest I’d need to click on the item image, then shop search adding yet more steps - but I may be misremembering.
Currently the purchase / search / turn in buttons aren’t working all the time, which is adding to the frustration and causing extra refreshes. The lag isn’t helping either but appreciate that’s a wider issue.
As the page is oddly zoomed, this also means I have to zoom out / scroll, something I don’t have to do at all with the legacy site. For example, when user shop search is pressed, I then have to scroll down, then scroll across to reveal the buy button on the right, then press buy.
My “clicks” / times I need to touch the screen has been something like: Scroll down Scroll to the right Click to start Click to shop search Scroll down Scroll to the right Buy (page refreshes) Complete quest Scroll down New quest button [Back to first page to repeat from top]
vs legacy Click to start Shop search Buy Finish quest New quest button [Back to first page to repeat from top]
Kumos also includes an extra refresh. On the new site; when you buy from user shops this causes a refresh. Ordinarily on the legacy site, I would simply press the back button to go back to the quest.
Hopefully that all makes sense. It just feels much clunkier in a way that the legacy ones don’t.
that all makes sense! the 'remove from shop' button doesn't work at all, I should remove it so that it doesn't confuse until I get it working.
The other ones, I think I can make simpler (e.g. the vault one should just remove 1 of that item for you - there is no risk of a race condition for removing from your own vault). i'm going to add text to the icons, make them smaller and in a stack on mobile so you can see exactly what they are. (and to your great point - put the prices for the shop / user shop there)
and you're totally right that the 'zoom' is different for both sites, and it's.... a little bit weird. so, most sites on the web (including kumos) have this piece of code in the header:
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1.0">
and that tells the browser to basically condense it down correctly if you're on mobile. we do not include that on legacy subeta since we removed the (not well maintained) mobile layout. so you just get the very smol version of subeta, and you can zoom it to whatever you want and it acts like it would on desktop. that's a really, really poor situation to be in, and we're only in it because of how hardcoded the subeta site layout is with images 💀
so i'll continue tweaking to make the pages more mobile friendly (esp the shop search page, that'll be a frequent page!) and not require as much scrolling (i'm removing more padding / weird spacing right now) but the zoom is probably where it'll be frozen.

Thank you , I’ll keep testing too!
I’d love to see a way for the text on Kumos to be reduced too. I’ve linked a couple images so you can see what I usually use / like, vs the much bigger text size on Kumos. The difference is pretty significant!
Some positive feedback is that I like how the reward moves with the cost of the quest more! Before on the old site, I had to weigh whether to buy items for a quest based on how much max a quest giver usually gave. I was a little nervous when I bought an item worth a million sP, but I got over 1 million sP back!
[flower=whatevermaycome]
Oh by the way... A few hours ago, when I wanted to buy an item in User Shops for a quest, I got a “Can't afford” message or something like that... even though I had enough to buy it, what was that?
seconding this, would like to see both user and main shop for simple ease!
is there a way to... speed things up at Kumos quests? They take way too long to complete just because we have to wait for slow loads to complete each time a quest is started, the items are searched to buy / remove from vault, and turn in.
Almost a full minute to complete a Pete quest, while usually I had a quest done in 15-20 seconds here on subeta.net
[edit] Having done the following quests:
I've spent 30 minutes. I used to take 5 minutes max to complete 15 quests from any quest-giver on subeta.net. That means that I've spent MORE time doing LESS quests today. It's very frustrating, and I'd appreciate a speed update. Thank you!
LMK if you need me to take a video of how long things take to load, I'll be happy to share.
In case this is helpful/offers insight in regards to 'number of clicks' to complete legacy quests:
I can complete a two item wizard quest (where I don't already own either item) in 9 clicks/keystrokes which includes navigating to and then closing the new tabs I open. This process usually takes 9-15 seconds, sometimes more if I do it too fast and hit the 5-second-cooldown page multiple times. I usually try to only buy 1 of the 2 quest items from npc shops so that I don't have to worry about the 5-second thing.
I try to resize my window prior to questing to minimize how much mousing is required and play on 80% zoom on legacy. I also don't typically have to wait for pages to load on the legacy site, where as kumos is slow enough for me to watch the load bar even when there don't seem to be lag issues. This is probably the biggest hurdle/negative to these new quests right now, but i'm not sure if that's how things are processed (and are here to stay) or just indicative of how resources are partitioned right now (and wouldn't be an issue once there's just the one main/consolidated site).
Obviously can't speak for others process as i know it will vary by browser and device and personal preferance, but I know my process is at least very similiar to a few others after some conversations.
I do feel like the quest bar is going in the right direction, maybe a way to see both npc and user shop (and ideally account search with inventory/vault/shop too that'd be so helpful) on the same page? (This seems close to what the kumos.subeta.net/details/item/id# pages do?) The hovering npc price in the quest bar nearly does this, but kumos is still at the point where i find I don't trust that number yet and have been double checking it at lot, but i think that's just growing pains.
Maybe quest bar vs no quest bar could be a toggleable user preference?
I agree with ufo!
for now open shop search takes us to the Kumos shop search, which doesn't show the NPC shop, so we could decide at one glance. At the bottom it takes scrolling plus an extra click to get the "hover" without rarity or NPC price, which does lead to the legacy SS, where we also have the proper hover with all information plus.
I tried the first button didplaying a price at the top, which now I realize is supposed to be a shop booth (?). I purchased one from there for testing (received it) and landed in the NPC shop, which did not have the item in stock (wasn't in stock on legacy, either).
So there's a stash of each of the quest items in stock kept for questing only outside of restocking ? Can you please elaborate on this - it's highly confusing.
The individual item turn in button becomes active automatically (did for me through "downtime" on currency already). I guess , if it doesn't (like others claimed and I experienced a few times yesterday) it's only due to lagging. Also if buttons seem unresponsive. The top item buttons scale better with window size. Thx for that and only confetti showers for full completion of quest, thx for that as well ;-)
Top item hovers still hiding behind the other items, buttons etc., also still too much space between ... everything
Many years ago there was an experiment with this system for Saggitarius quests. The result was crazy inflation. It was a good time for restockers, though. because we made a fortune from selling these quest items.
Looks like my quests didn't reset last night? It's been over 24 hrs since my last quest, so regardless of cron time thinking it should have cycled?
AHHHHHHHHH. I understand what folks are asking for now, re: shop search. Yes - I can add the main shops to the top of the (or wherever they are, in terms of price) shop search! Will get that in today.
These are still in testing, and are being reset when changes are pushed out so that I can see the response to those changes. We're getting closer to it resetting nightly, though!
Working on the speed stuff today as well, I agree that Kumos is slower than I'd like :(

Suuuuuper! Thanks!
The daily quests on Kumos have not updated for me. I did them last on the 24th. Anyone else have that problem?
