Right??? I have no idea. But that is what we hear. Tell the parent, your child is having a hard time. they kicked and screamed today when they had to clean up. And the parents are like - no way, my child doesn't do that at home.
[edit] Court day today ya'll. Yay?
Edit 1210pm Divorce granted. Papers can be picked up this afternoon. Ryan will bring them so I can get a copy if they dont give him two
Well... yes. It's been years coming. But it was after a very long marriage and I never really ever wanted it to happen, but we weren't happy together anymore, so that's why it's a Yay? :P We were married 27 years as of July. He asked for a divorce about 4 yrs ago. Moved out a little over a year ago, after we'd finalized our bankruptcy that we were going thru when he decided he wanted a divorce (we decided to stay together until that was done rather than mess with it and have to refile it or whatever may have happened) and then he finally found a place to live. Filed finally back in June, court date today to finalize.
[edit] 710pm Well since I was waiting on Shane to cook (Sometimes I hate when he cooks, he takes forever like his dad used to, but at least Ryan started EARLY!) - so I finished my mandatory training. I really have no idea why people were complaining about failing the quizzes or it being hard... I barely missed any questions and did not have to repeat any modules.
In other news. I have to steal Nathans laptop for classes on Thursdays :P Got a reply back from the teacher - no computers in the room. And I've looked into some scholarships...I won't be able to apply for it until late November, but one is from Bright From The Start (the PreK program) and I can get a bit over 2k for tuition AND $500 personal money per semester! That is awesome! I hope I get it. AND I hope there isn't an issue with filling out the application, because there is a section that my human resources department has to fill out....and they've been Oh so helpful already. Not for lack of trying, but they were worthless with the background check stuff.
[Edit] 8-17 720pm Got to love small easy classes. This teacher is so laid back. Only 8 people signed up for it. 5 showed up tonight. She changed the arrival time to 6, tho we can still be there at 530 if we want. We will be able to leave early too as she has no idea how we will fill 3hrs 😝 even tho she said they were told to stay and make students stay for the whole class time
Sorry for disappearing on you, Kat!
You ever just like.. you don't have time, so you just do your dailies, but then the notification just... IT TAKERS ON A THING OF ITS OWN AND I FEEL GUILTY FOR NOT BEING HERE FOR DAYS AND THEN I REALLY DON'T WANT TO GO BECAUSE I FEEL BAD and then.. yeah :P
oh my gosh Ash, you'd be AMAZED at what parents don't think their child would do LOL. It's really incredible.
I'll say it, congratulations! It's all done now, at least!
And whoo for small easy classes!
No worries I know everyone has a real life ;) I am sometimes surprised by how much I find myself online instead of doing other things (well I guess because I just don't bother to DO the other things? And I have fewer of them to do now that I only have one kid who doesn't DO anything anyway?) So don't feel bad because you didn't have TIME!!! Spend that time with your girls and other loved ones <3
And yes. YAY its all done.
Haha. Yesterday after band camp Lily had a friend sleep over.. then this morning we had pancakes, and Alex and I went shopping and to the DMV. Then we got home and made pickles, then I took Iz to a birthday party and Lily, her friend, Connor and El played D&D.. which they're still doing.. mostly.
Well yesterday Nathan had a friend come over. Then when I got home we went and picked up another friend (I was a LITTLE leery of letting the kid come over while I was at work, but let him anyway, he didnt come til like noon). Then Nathan asked if they could BOTH spend the night? WHAT? I don't know these kids, but their parents were ok with it, so sure! :P Then my brother arrived (I did make sure he would be ok with it, because if he would be grumpy about extra kids here I would have said no, he'd worked all day and was coming to help me out, so I wanted him to be comfortable!) The boys stayed up ALL night. Just took the one home two hours ago. The other is still here, and we JUST went and picked up another kid. Shane came home about 45min after my brother left, I had left after he did so I could go do my shopping. We took the trash off when we took the boy home.
In amongst all of this I am attempting to complete some of my college class work!! :P I did find 3 books, two fit just fine, one not so much. I need 2 more but I have no idea for them yet. (But I have time). I need to make a collage about ME still.... I did the lesson plans with the two books - one for the activity I did Thursday night and one for the collage. Still have to do a fingerpainting one, thats the book I'm not sure fits quite right ;) I read chapter 1 & 2 and took quizzes for them in that class also. Now I am reading Chapter 1-4, did a discussion board (welcome/intro), have to do another discussion board on the chapters, and two quizzes. THEN I can start on the third class :P Maybe I should have started with it - I think it will be my hardest, but it won't be THAT hard, its kind of an extension/beginning of the class I took over the summer. Its just that teacher is more of the "write a paper" type than "take a quiz" type.
[edit] 8/20 7am So got the mail yesterday. I have TWO auto policies? I thought when you "add this car" you add it to your current policy? Guess I'll be making a phone call tomorrow afternoon to figure out if it is cheaper to have them separate like they are now, or combined. I always thought combined gave you a discount and I've always ADDED a new car to my policy, not gotten a new policy for a new car.... one renews in Sept, the other not until Nov. Not sure how I didn't catch this last time I adjusted the insurance, when the mazda was broken and put on low mileage insurance as suggested.
Anyway. On to more schoolwork. I have some goal thingy that I have to turn in today! WHAT? Not even a whole week? Thank you very much teacher. Whatever. I also had to post the DB (discussion board) by yesterday and reply by Weds. - edit: when i did the goal quiz, it gave me a 0%. I had to type in my responses. Usually that gives a "needs to be graded" response, not a 0!! I emailed the teacher.
edit: 1030am Nothing like reading a chapter, going to take the quiz and ABSOLUTELY NOTHING on the quiz matches what you read in the chapter. I did my best. Got 6-10. Emailed the instructor with my concern that the quiz questions had NOTHING to do with the chapter reading and will see what he says tomorrow. I was surprised there was a quiz. Over the summer he didn't do quizzes in the class I had with him! Completed and turned in 2 assignments, and 2 discussion posts (one was work ethics again, oh joy!)
My son got to visit his preschool for open house. We were the first ones there so we didn't get to see any other families buuut my son seems to love the school. It is highschool that has childcare as a class option so he will be paired with 1 or 2 upperclassmen. My husband said he will have 2 personal butlers haha.
Oh that is pretty awesome! I am sure your child will have so much fun. We enjoy it when the highschoolers come over for experience. (My school is literally around the corner from the high school so many times they'll come get some experience working in our classrooms)
[edit] 630pm EHHHH got to love when a teacher is literally online when you are (grades got posted). Yet no email response? Then puts up an announcement stating "I return my emails with a day" - yet here it is tuesday evening after I sent you an email on sunday?? should have responded by now dude. I sent another email :P I want to redo that quiz if possible, especially if it is the WRONG quiz to begin with. On better news. I did my discussion board for the EMPL class and now have to wait for everyone else to post so I can do 2 replies. Oh and a funny thing I noticed, when looking over the new intro boards for that class - one of the kids in the class is actually my son's friend! :o lol or well, they used to be. Haven't talked to the kid or seen him in years, since the boys played football. Nathan saw him sometime last year. The kid graduated early and this is is second year in college. GO KID!! Love it. LOL
What happened with your quiz, Kat?!
Ooooh Ash, E and D did playschool when they were small too, for a year. It was like, two or three days a week for two or three hours. They had a lot of fun!
And oh wow, way to go kid! That's awesome!
He hasn't emailed me back or fixed anything at all. I have no idea. And it was due by tonight. So I hope if he DOES fix it, that he gives us time to do the quiz again. I know for a fact he was on Monday, after I'd emailed him Sunday (grade posted). I know for a fact he was on TODAY after I'd emailed him again yesterday (grade posted). So he HAS to have seen the emails, you would think!! He did make an announcement about how he is having vision problems, that started last semester, and that he would be giving us another teacher email for the next few weeks as he has something done with his eyes I guess, so... if he does not respond to me before he gives out that email, I will email THAT teacher and explain that I emailed HIM twice and never got a response. We shall see what happens. It sends ME an email every time I email him, so I have a paper trail :P
Yes I thought so ;) I kind of wanted to reply to his post and see if he remembers me, but that would kind of be unprofessional lol
Who is Ash? I know E and D :P
Ash is Ravage LOL.
A paper trail is good! So at least you can talk to SOMEONE, if nothing happens!
Yeah, I'd want to say something too but also I'd be like "Enhhhhh is this weird?" LMAO.
Oh hahaha I thought you were saying someone named Ash went to playschool with E and D :P Doh! :P
I am very exhausted this week. I am not sure if its the temperatures, the kids, or if I'm getting sick (covid is going around my school again). I feel fine other than a cough and today my voice started going wonky. But no fever, no aches/chills, no difficulty breathing or any other wonky symptoms other than the dry cough. Well I do ACHE - like my body is sore, but I honestly feel that is from dealing with the two little ahem darlings all day long. Stopping them from getting into EVERY DAMN THING (literally! teacher things, toys, supplies, anything they can put their hands on!!!). From making NOISE (screaming, banging, kicking things, running and shrieking) when the other kids are listening (or trying to) to a story or a song, or getting directions on what we are doing next... From literally DRAGGGGGGGGING them out into the hallway because my directions given today by my principal were "remove them from the room so the other kids can learn" RIGHT> Like ok - I am NOT supposed to "grab/hold" the kids, but you want me to remove them from the room? And I have to literally either PICK THEM UP (kicking and screaming and scratching and flailing around) to remove them, or grab/push/pull them along to get them out the door. (which I was doing anyway- just not all the time- since I'd been told that before with other difficult children, even tho one of these is a RUNNER) AND you expect me to do it to TWO OF THEM AT THE SAME TIME???
ALSO WHAT THE FREAK? REWARD these little darlings by taking them OUTSIDE TO THE PLAYGROUND when they are literally tearing up the room to "play" with the toys instead of following directions and sitting on the carpet/chairs to learn/listen?? By tearing up the room I mean grabbing things out of buckets, off shelves, one especially does that if they get mad, they'll dump stuff out on purpose, not just because they are trying to move away from me stopping them getting into it...today our whole attendance folder ended up on the floor, the headphones bucket, the little stands for the tablets/ipads, and the magnetic writing boards/magnets. I did get the child to pick those items all back up, after they calmed down (for once) (briefly!)
[edit] 835pm Sorry Ravage if I kind of terrified you with my rant. I really do enjoy working with my PreK kids. Honestly the majority of the kids at school do great. Especially those who have parents who are willing to work with them/us. And a lot of the time, the kids that the parents come in saying will be having issues, never (well, rarely!) have any issues for us!! It does take time to adjust. The smaller the class is, the better/easier it is also. We have 20 kids. I am oh so thankful they reduced that from 22, because I have no clue what chaos would be happening if we had 2 more kids in the room. These kids however just (to me) are not having ANY consequences, at home or at school.
20 kids is SO many, I can't even imagine. The highest I've ever seen a pre-k class around here is 12, and that was considered a big class.
Our kindergartens are only like, 12-15, I can't imagine 20 4/5 year olds!
With only about 12 kids do they only have 1 teacher or do they have 2? Our kindergarten classes vary. One year we had like 12-14 per class (6 classes the year before that and that year I think, so they downsized again to five) and most of the time we have 16-18 kids per K class. This year I think several classes are up to 20 kids We have 5 kindergarten classes this year too. I've probably said it before but we are the biggest elementary in the county. There are 11 elementary schools. We have like around 600 kids again this year. Most of the others have 400 or less
[edit] 425pm Checked in online with school to see what new was posted. Can you believe he has gotten on, realized he didn't have the right syllabus and sent an announcement/email out for THAT.... Who cares it is the wrong syllabus? They are almost all exactly the same anyway. Like maybe 3 sentences (or perhaps paragraphs depending) are different in each one :P I realized that he had the wrong one after I printed it (I always do) and realized it said 2360 which is the class I took over the summer :P But. Still. No. Reply. On. My. QUIZ! MEH! Oh and I printed off this weeks "worksheet" which tells us what assignments and how to do them correctly. And it says "Chapter 1 Quiz" again, even tho we are supposed to read chapter 2 AND the quiz links to chapter 2 quiz. So um. Yea. Typo much dude? (I noticed that a lot over summer, bet it has to do with his eye issue, so I'll let it slide), BUT...I find it a bit annoying for a teacher who preaches correct spelling/grammar to be making these mistakes. Get someone to double check if you are having issues, before you post it perhaps? Hmm? Eh. Whatever. I am mostly just unhappy that I can't get the quiz issue resolved... YET. I hate that I have 6/10 (60% UGH) and I think its due to an error on his part.
Well. Due to traffic I guess I will leave soon so I can have time to grab dinner, and glue my collage together before class starts at 6 :P
With 12 kids, there's normally a lead teacher, another teacher, and a para.
If there's under 6 kids, there's only one teacher and a para though.
Dropping El off at the college this morning on my way to work. It's move in day, so they're going to help their friend move in, and it's also.. commuter something something day. IDK. But I think it'll work out well to just.. pick them up again on my way home LOL.
And tonight is Lilys first football game of the season, she's not excited though, which is weird!
And thennnnn Sunday we're going to the orchard! El is bringing her friend, Lily is bringing Connor, and my friend Danielle is bringing her kids that are Els and Lilys ages too, so I think it'll be a fun time! We've still got four buddy passes left, and Sunday is the last day to use them :P
Monday is Frells first day of classes, Tuesday night Alex and I have eye appointments, Wednesday the kids have eye appointments and LIly has a med check, then we'll do.. something?! fun for the last day of summer vacation, before school starts on Thursday.
I'm kind of sad that summer vacation is over, but also kind of ready to get back into some sort of routine.. but I'm not looking forward to all the running around and errands, again. Even this past month though, there's been so much. :(
Three??? Three teachers with 12 kids? (Because yes, most paras do as much if not more than some teachers!!! I am a para and we consider ourselves pretty much the 2nd teacher in the room). I am moving up there.
Routines help keep us sane/normal but also drive us crazy lol Nathan wants to go to the football game tonight. Now I have to figure out how to buy a ticket online since they no longer do cash at the gate. Or else let him take my debit card. I wonder if they'll let him use a gift card...hmmm...the visa credit type ones I think it is. His grandparents sent that for his birthday.
Yeah, I agree that paras are basically other teachers!
That's crazy that they don't take cash at football games! I'd think it'd make it really tough for some of these high schoolers.
Honestly. Beg mom and dad to buy your ticket I guess.
Trying to work out of things are correct in this week's stuff. I might try one more email to him NOT from the inside the classroom, even tho he says to do it that way. I may just do it from my email to his, not click the link. He responded to me when I emailed him over the summer that way but never emailed me from the class.
"Beg mom and dad to buy your ticket I guess."
for real!
Third quarter, game is 14 us, 13 them. I think they're close to a TD though. But apparently a good game so far! I just picked up on it haha. It's an away game so I'm listening from home, kind of. :P
Ugh that all sounds so annoying Kat. :(
El had a good day today apparently, came home at 6;45 and I dropped her off at like, 8:30 LOL. Probably going back tomorrow for brunch, and then I'm taking her and her friend grocery shopping with me, and then dropping Nyx back off at school to go to a baseball game.
And Sunday at 10:30, another breakfast, but with her advisor and all the honors program kids, she's excited about that one.
