I am refraining myself from talking about SO MUCH stuff in this drop, full of such great items, so instead I’ll focus on some old stuff, and then some of my favorites.

I’ve always had an appreciation for background stuff that wasn’t a solid background image, I used the third anniversary party crackers on SO many of my early HAs, so these were solid wins for me! Genuinely surprised I don’t have more to display, though I suppose it is saving you from old terrible HAs :D

OH HI IT’S ONE HALF OF MY FAVORITE SETS OF ALL TIME!!!! This and the mime set have SO many pieces that I used over and over and over again. I adore the lipstick! I was going to say that it was my second used lip of all time, but reviewing the HAs…..no that’s not true at all. One of these days I’m going to take the time and actually sort out all my HAs by lip, but that’s way too much effort for now.

And hey, we’re ending with all the harvested items that I half-remembered back in my first survival/great pandemic post!

HAZEL HAZEL HAZEL HAZEL HAZEL!!!!!!

Hazel is my second favorite subeautique line, with first place being rainy day.

Subeautique was announced on March 1, 2007, only two months after HAs had been released, with the Hazel Morning Bell set, the Poison Void set (of which I used the shirt quite a number of times), and the UnicornVomit Mauvicorn set. Originally the sets were fairly small, around five or six pieces, and were expressly designed to make a specific outfit. As the years went by, more and more items would get released in a set to the point where it was physically impossible to see all pieces if you wore them at the same time. I will say, looking at subetalodge's outfit previews, there are more of the sets that do work as one outfit than I remember (also some sets I'm sad to have missed, or that apparently DID get released when I was here and I don't remember at all)

I do think that this was a very creative way of implementing items for the very new HA system. The shop had an interesting mechanic of being very small and rare restocks (invites were not needed at that time), there was a higher sP cost, and it was full outfits being released, rather than groups of shirts, pants, etc.

I don't remember when exactly the invites started being required for purchasing....ah, google is my friend. October 10, 2012! So after about five and a half years...I think that's actually a good time to switch up the mechanics, add a little more effort into getting the pieces, and of course adding a level of rarity to up the 'exclusivity' of the clothes. Invites were both rare enough to be a challenge, and common enough that buying them from a user wasn't a requirement to get into the shop.

I love this so much I can't even begin to verbalize. Calvin and Hobbes is one of my all time favorite comic strips (the last one makes me tear up almost every singe time I see it), and this just makes me SO happy.

, I’m doing alright! It’s just busy, and Subeta item drops are low on my priority list so before I know it over a week has passed. I’m actually writing up some drops in advance now so hopefully that can help for a bit.

, I know, but it’s a case where I basically stopped in 2016. These drops stir memories, but it also reminds me of how much the site isn’t like how Subeta was in it’s prime, and a number of users I was close to don’t exist on the site any more. It’ll be a bit sad and wistful when I finish my last drop and leave for good….who knows, maybe I’ll log in once a year or so to try to keep my username to myself, but I’m content to leave.

The Horns and Roses set is really the first time that there was a purposefully restricted HA set released. I, along with many others, wasn’t particularly a fan of this. It was awesome for the users who won the Battle of the Bands competition, but it fell exactly into the same category of the super rare only for 10 users battle items, which I’ve already said my piece about. I don’t remember when the set actually got released for purchase (though at very high cost), but I am glad that it eventually did so. Interestingly, even when I was collecting for a full wardrobe, I never got the lime contacts.

The Peeka-boo festival was a fun mini event! Took place in July 2014. Looking at the news, I forgot that they had a limited release cash shop item of the VIP ticket, which they released multiple times in small bursts! I’m so used to the cash shop items just being THERE, I think this is the only time they’ve done this! (Hustler excluded) ...oh wow, re-reading the news and just how MANY of these VIP tickets would get released….I can’t say ‘cash grab’ because I’m sure users would have bought it were they just there all the time, but it’s definitely a ‘scarcity’ and ‘fomo’ method of selling. (Looks like they gave access to a special shop during the event itself)

Aside from battle of the bands, we had feeding Oatmeal (which ended up becoming an all-the-time site thing), a wishing shrub? I have no recollection of how that worked – looked like users anonymously giving requested items to other users?, this is when the mobility devices and more medically related HA items came out, lots of music themed items, and ‘fashion yurts’.

Honestly, I feel like this is an event that could come back pretty easily. Don’t open all of the stores so that the artists don’t need to create as many items, but the battle of the bands could be done again and so could the official item voting.

(as I’m going through the news posts about this, this is also when the cash shop loyalty card was first released!)

, I've basically been on hiatus since mid-2016. Late last year my computer crashed and lost the tabs that I had open, one of which was the bathhouse. A month later, I realized I didn't miss it at all. And since I had so much stuff, especially in my wardrobe, I figured I'd rather give it to people who are active and will use and enjoy them, than have them sit in my account and rot. I figure worse comes to worse, if I ever decide I want to come back, it'll be fun to have to start from scratch.
