I had just crawled into bed last night and the new about challengers popped up and I was so excited!

2023 the year of the battler? XD I hope so!

Stupid question: Does anyone know, offhand, how many challengers there are in total?

I've got 228, and I'm 99% certain I've got all the secret and cash shop challengers.

Does anyone know if the new secret challenger (that is in the normal section) leaves when the new one shows up?

Gardak is our 410th and Bibi and Lilah is our 411th challenger. You can see their challenger IDs on the challenge page. Granted, there are probably some unused challengers (like the unreleased Paras) and some that were revamped/retired (like Prodigy and Vintage Prodigy) but they’ve created around 411 challengers in total now.

Amber addressed it in the news post, but the new friendly challengers for this year are permanent :)

Same here and CS challengers who drop loot after 10? Heck yes!

Last year sucked to be a battler, but this year is looking good! haha I missed the monthly challengers so much. I just want to hug them and squeeze them and name them all George!

Battle Quest

I wonder if all the Cash Shop challengers this year are going to be birthstone-themed to match the Subscription items. I also can't wait to see which NPCs become challengers this year. Maybe (this will probably be disproven or left unconfirmed) the NPC's birthday is in the month they will become available, since I don't think anyone has a confirmed birthday except for Elwood... I wonder if he'll be April's challenger...

(I also forgot when the Anyu twins were born but one of them is already an event challenger)

Ooooh I like that NPC birthday theory and hope it's true! Also each Month having a gemstone challenger, that is a theme I don't think we had yet for challengers at least! Guess we'll find out in Feb if it continues!

I'm hoping it's a birthstone theming! That's a great idea! Especially if they all drop a weapon at win 10. That to me is better than making it drop at Win 5 because then you just stop there usually cause you got the weapon. Making it 10 wins, you really have to work for it!

I'm assuming like all other CS challengers, Gardak has no drops past win 10....

Not this time! Amulet at 25, tomes at 50 and 75. There’s also a small chance for a tome as a random loot drop!

CS challengers drop amulets and tomes?

If you read through the news post, said wanted to do something different this year. I’m not sure if the loot will be added to old challengers since that would take some time, but I think it’s fair to say the new CS challengers for this year will have extra loot :)
