It is kinda weird. o-o I am always at home when I use my laptop, so I don't have to keep it battery operated. Makes it less of a problem, but still annoying!

at least using it on the mains connection isn't too challenging ;)

I did find a suggestion that it could be down to some kind of power saving setting, something like Intel display power saving technology (under 'graphic properties') where it's trying to save the battery power by putting less effort into the screen display.... they suggested unticking that option, although that could be down to a specific brand of laptop, and not be relevant to your one!

The dentist scanned my teeth this time, so I got to see them on her screen. lol Saved me from having the awful taste of the paste they used to make the imprints. I just hope the weather is better tomorrow for our workout. Last time I got soaked. I had to hang up my underwear to dry when I got home. lol

Thanks for the suggestions. :D My laptop is a Lenovo if that helps. I did look for the intel display power saving tech, but I couldn't find that anywhere when I looked last night. I tried reinstalling drivers again to no avail. I recently upgraded it from windows 8 to windows 10. I stumbled across an option to troubleshoot screen flickering, so I am going to try some of the steps mentioned there as well. The laptop did this when my mum first bought it and it was brand new as well. I told her she should bring it back to the store to have it looked at. But she never did.

It could be that power saving setting isn't on a Lenovo one, but hopefully the troubleshooting option you found will be of some use! ;)

Some of the steps did seem complicated. But I guess I will be brave and give it a go later. :P

hopefully it'll guide you through the steps without too much problem ;) When Mum's old computer kept going wrong, I had to google the problem on my computer, then keep dashing back to her computer to try out each potential solution.... would've been much easier to just google it on my phone, but I figured my computer would be faster (my phone's quite slow at loading any websites) :P

That is especially fun if you have to careful type something you found on your guide. My phone works pretty fast normally for loading websites... I could also bring out my spare laptop I guess, but I suspect that would be slower. :P

I cheated and took a photo of the guide instructions on my phone, so I could make sure I was doing the right thing when I got back to Mum's computer :P hehe if I tried using my old laptop, I think I'd still be waiting for it to load by bedtime :P It's never been particularly speedy, but I also never updated it from windows 7!

I really liked windows 7! I was not happy when I had to start using windows 8. :P I had to download and extra programme just to get a start menu. No one asked for the app thing!

busy week for me. So my foot started hurting more than it had and I had to see my doctor on Friday. He told me my shoes were making the bad foot hurt at the heel because the bone spur was growing back and the back of that heel was too hard. I can't even remember all the other htings I've done but Tuesday wound up being a very hectic day with picking up and putting groceries away as well as driving an hour and change away to the Sketchers factory outlet. It was a great idea but we hit a traffic jam, and it took a long while to get around. Got a nice deal on the shoes however. I'm just pooped.

I skipped windows 8 completely (my old computer wasn't compatible with upgrading to windows 8), and just went straight to windows 10 when I got this computer :P This one won't upgrade to windows 11 (I think the processor isn't compatible or something), but I'm not too fussed about that, as I'm not overly keen on win 11 :P

Well that's not much help with the shoes being that problematic :( but at least you were able to get some suitable shoes (and from the outlet too!!) :D Hopefully those are a lot more comfy to wear than the old ones?

they are comfy :) the old ones were as well until the heel became an issue. But I really really like the new shoes. One you'll hate lol It's neon lime green--BRIGHT neon lime green XD

I love my sketchers shoes, so comfortable. I have two pairs now. xD They tend to be expensive, so an outlet sounds perfect. I hope they work better for your feet. :hugs:

I had a laptop that had windows 8 preinstalled. :P I think windows 10 is a bit better. I wonder why they skipped windows 9? This laptop is apparently not compatible with windows 11, but I don't mind that either. I am not even sure what is different with the new windows os.

I think I read at the time that they wanted it to be the last version of windows (so it would always just keep getting updated, but never have windows 11), and they thought that Windows 10 sounded like a decent name for that.... of course now it just seems stupid to miss Win 9, given that we're now on windows 11!

Certainly the bottom bar on the screen has changed with win 11 - the start menu is in the middle rather than the bottom left corner o.O Mum took quite a while to get used to not automatically clicking the bottom left to turn the computer off ;)

as do i. I only switched as the other shoes were good for diabetics. But yeah it worked out to about $45 a pair.
