Does anyone have any interest of starting a group to help beat the troll?

Just gauging interest at this point but ideally we would have a large enough group so you only have to try 20 or so weapons each go around so hopefully theres enough interest! Attempting this by myself has been way too painful I've given up many times!

We'd set up a separate forum group and maybe a discord if theres enough of us who use it. A google sheet would be shared to track whose championing which weapons. You'd be expected to help everyone in the group after you get your wins so please do not join if your current personal restrictions would prevent this!

I also hate leading so if anyone else would like to - please take over :p !!! I guess i'm running the show :P. Let me know if anyone wants to help co-organize!

[Spoiler=The Mechanics] The Troll is beatable with a random weapon from an unknown weapon pool. When the Troll was initially set up, the items selected in the weapon pool were typically inexpensive and unbuyable items were not included which generally narrowed this down to a T1 to T3 weapon, however; i'm also told it can include weapons up to T5. The Weapon can also be a defensive only weapon, but you still need to do damage to win the battle so it is important to pair any defensive only items with an attack item for any given turn.

Once a single user beats the troll 5 times, the random weapon resets after the user pushes the "See Results" button and we must search through the pool again. Because it does not reset until you hit the "See Results" button, we can have multiple people get their 5 wins by having them hold on finishing the battle to wait for others. If you do not want to be on hold, it is best to stop before hand on win 4 and hope to catch it before the reset.

What do you mean by weapons that qualify, is there a pattern of some sort?

Oh gosh...I was a part of the original group who was trying to beat him! I did get five wins. It took a lot of work, and I remember we had different people trying different sections of weapons. I'd be up for trying again...

Random weapon like Brokensafety said....with one additional curve ball. If it's a defense only weapon, you need to make sure you use it with a weapon that actually does damage! Finding the weapon only allows you to do damage...but you actually have to do damage to beat it xD!

I got stuck at 3 wins a couple months ago 😭 so I would be willing to chip in.

Does anyone know how the actual mechanic works, i.e. if I get my last two wins, would it reset to something else even though I only beat it twice with the current weapon? My best guess at the time was just that someone else happened to find the right item on the same day as me and beat me to 5 wins with it

I definitely don't want to overlap with any events :). There's over 1k items to coordinate so i'd like this to just be more casual to bring in as many people as possible.
As someone whose attempted to work through a few hundred weapons on their own (and failed)....I want it to be more of a fun team effort vs. a chore. I'm ok with it taking a while for things to kick off!

It's my understanding it resets every 5th win (so once you get 5, 10, 15 etc. it will reset).

also gave me the OK to use a spreadsheet to assign weapon groups when a group did it before us. did a lot of the initial setup but it was a group effort :). Happy to give anyone else credit on the spreadsheet if you were a part of it! (Waiting on setting up the spreadsheet until we have a decent size group)

But I'll be upfront and let you know I'm really anxious about group projects and I don't want to mess anything up for anyone who's relying on me when I don't thoroughly understand the assignment, so I'd like to be able to study the exact details of how this works before I totally commit (put me in the tentative list I guess). By the way, I'm mostly active during Subeta's night hours so hopefully that wouldn't be a problem as far as working with other users. And I don't use Discord if I can help it...would much rather stick to onsite communication if possible.

It's been a long time since I looked into beating the troll and I forgot pretty much everything about it. Does the effective weapon change every day at rollover or does it stay the same until it has been beaten the requisite number of times? And does it quit working as soon as any one user gets five wins against it? Or just five (or some other number of) wins from any combination of users? How are we meant to share the information if we find the right weapon? Are we only allowed to beat it once and then pass it on to someone else? How do you choose which group members get to have the (I'm assuming limited number of) wins once you find it? Or am I totally mistaken about how this works? See, I'm already nervous lol

This is a no stress casual run! It's an old challenger so no sprinting here to be first :)!
Its a random low tier weapon that changes after a single user gets their 5th win (and each multiple of 5 thereafter - so again on win 10, 15 etc). We can get multiple people to 5 wins if we're patient and pause on our 5th win without hitting the "See Results" page after getting the Troll to 0HP. It doesn't reset until you actually hit that button. The downside to that is you can't battle other challengers while its on hold so its not realistic for the hardcore battlers to sit in limbo so we'll likely need to figure out the weapon a couple times for everyone to get their wins without stopping users from playing subeta how they normally would!

The goals to see go slow and get as many people interested as possible and then to just divide and conquer and onsite communication is perfectly fine.
I'll summarize the mechanics better and work through a method of assigning out weapons but personally i'd like everyone to just pick X weapons they already own with the people with the larger armorys going last to fill in the gaps so nobody's stuck spending a bunch of sP for the group. The group can also help you pick if your not sure or you can smail me when it comes to it if youd prefer :)
