Sometimes people add to the lore of their pets with the food they feed them or the books they read. What happens if you accidentally read a scroll to your pet instead of using it? Now your marine biologist pet has read 4 books about fish and 1 scroll about dark magic...

I spent 60,000,000 buying scrolls to raise my pets intelligence without reading to him. One scroll misclick and now what? Second time I've done this to myself, second time I'm abandoning a hard worked on pet because of it.

A way to remove, or even a way to temporarily block a pet from being fed or read to would be amazing.

You can't feed a pet while they're checked into the Resort or the Rathskeller Inn, so there's that.

As far as the reading thing, if there's enough of a demand for it and it's not terribly hard to program, sure. I don't see why not.

It would be nice to see something like this in the future but with the way development is right now, I wouldn't hold my breath for it.

This seems pretty niche and not really helpful to 99% of users

As a temporary solution, it may be possible with CSS to hide certain pets from showing up in the list. I use the coding from here ( Useful Custom CSS Builder ) for foods, but I don't personally have any knowledge of coding and wasn't able to get the book one to work with hiding all but two pets instead of all but one. Depending on how many pets you do need to read to, it might still help

It's a bit niche, but I feel a lot of people care about their pet aesthetics on this site. The first time I did it, I just got rid of the pet and never started another. This time I'm frustrated because I lost the legacy name in the process, so it's an extra level. It seems like a fairly simple thing they could add so people can create their pet characters and not worry about a simple click mistake. My mental health won't allow me to keep a pet that I ruined lol

Thanks for the link+suggestion. I wasn't aware we could change the css of the website itself, just our pet/personal profile looks! a whole new woooorld

i wouldnt say its niche or or unhelpful-- i think the pet aspect of the site is 100% something that should be worked on and like someone said if it's not hard to implement i don't see why not? i've accidentally fed something to my pets instead of using it and while i personally dont pay attention to my pets, i can see how frustrating that can be on top of the initial upset, especially for people that have a LOT of relevant food/books under their theme.

So we currently have a few suggestions to remove books/foods. See Cleansing Pools: Books & Foods and A way to delete food from pet&;s food list (or to unfeed food items) But it wouldn't give you your money back. That isn't exactly what you are proposing though but the title is misleading in that regard. If you could maybe rename it to Hide certain pets from item use.

There was talk of this when the whole item use menu was being talked of a revamp. I am on my phone right now so hard to find the old posts. However, I would say this is still probably on the radar down the line when we switch just because it is a quality of life change that has been requested quite a few times and there are many users with over 20 pets

Edit Feedback: Pet "limit" / farm So this is one of the ideas that was thrown around from Keith himself.

I may be mistaken about how niche it may be, if there is demand for it. I didn't clarify that I also think that this will be a fair bit more complicated to implement than people may think, because of how our alchemy/AP system works via reading books. Would we just delete books and lose intel without losing AP? And whats going to prevent someone from forgetting and rereading the same book to gain AP after boosting intel at the 16 intel breakpoints? I'm not sure, it seems pretty gnarly though I don't pretend like I know how to code a pet site.

Understandable. I haven't looked into alchemy much, it already seems to work kinda strange (I think I missed out on a LOT of points not realizing the 16th multiple had to be a book read). I'm not sure if this is maybe why it hasn't been done as a quick/simple fix. Maybe it could cost an alchemy point to remove, or only have book removal as an 'undo' button for 5 minutes after it's happened, etc

Hm, interesting. I searched for a while and found nothing (I'm notorious at wording my searches though), and checked out the common topic threads, etc. I wouldn't care at all if I got money back or the item itself. I just want to be able to undo simple mistakes. Being able to hide the option was just another suggestion to go along with it to help prevent the problem in the future, if it was too tricky to allow people to remove them.

Well if you want to remove it for aesthetic reasons the two suggestions I linked to above are still active. In Suggestions and Ideas duplicate suggestions are locked. Your thread at least how I took it and why it hasn't been locked already is because it seemed like you wanted to hide pets from item use which is a different suggestion than a way to remove an eaten food or read book.

Book wise raised a good point about AP.

Passing thought, but I'm wondering if it would be a viable solution (perhaps instead of wiping them, perhaps not?) to be able to select which items to display/hide on the Books Read page. Or maybe an option to categorize selected books as Favorites and have only those display. Admittedly, I'm not sure if this would satisfy those who specifically want to read only certain books to their pets, but it could be a compromise for those who want to raise intelligence but would also like to keep a thematic reading list.

(Apologies if that's something that's already been suggested or discussed elsewhere, but it came to mind as I was reading this)

Sorry, I guess this can be locked/removed then. Wouldn't have made a post if I had been able to find the other ones. Wasn't trying to waste time. D:

I think that'd be a cool solution as well! Almost like "Yeah, they've read a lot of things, but these ones were their favourites!" - almost like a bookshelf or something.
