Hey all, I have a question regarding Stats, trying to picture what stat spread my pet will have once she reaches the cap.

Is it worth pushing HP past 10k? Or is that the ideal amount? And is SPD worth investing more into? I hear it increases crit chance but by how much?

- It's really a matter of preference. My capped pet has over 10k HP. Just because 10k is where the healing on weapons maxes out doesn't mean having more than 10k is worthless, having more HP increases how much damage your pet can take regardless. Speed is also helpful in avoiding crits, if your speed is higher than your opponent than you take less crits as well. I'm not sure what the exact percentages are, but if your speed is higher than your opponents speed you are much more likely to score a crit than if your speed is lower. Generally at the cap, most builds will be viable against generally every opponent, unless you have done something drastically weird, like 20k spd and 2k strength.

That does clear up a lot! Many thanks, I'm not doing anything crazy like that, I've just returned after a long break and last thing I remember is reducing my pet's DEF, I think I'm was going for something like this:

HP: 10,000 STR: 12,000 DEF: 5,000 SPD: 8,000

I do equip crit gems on all my weapons, which is why her SPD will be that high, but who knows, I'll just lurk and check out other people's battle pets and give it another good think.

- Seems like a good build, might be a bit tough on some of the bulkier higher HP opponents, but again, basically any build at cap is feasible. ftr, crit crystals have a 5% activation rate regardless of speed, they are independent of pets' stats. However, if you score a natural crit AND activate a crit strike crystal on the same turn, you do 4x damage.

It's a fitting build for her, but I might make some adjustments, but got a long way to go before even having these kind of stats anyways, haha!

Ooh, I didn't know that, but it's helpful to know, many thanks for the info!

10k is the healing cap for most weapons. However, scrolls and some weapons don't have a hard cap for heal so you will heal for more if your pet has more than 10k health. It is also good to have high health as a buffer for opponent hits. Even if your speed is higher, you won't be able to block 100% of an enemy's attack 100% of the time. It also helps against things like getting frozen, or enemy curses. I would say 10k is a minimum for your main battler.

Speed is a toggle for enemy hits. Any enemy won't crit hit you if your speed is higher than theirs. I think the chance for you to crit hit your opponent is about 30% if your speed is higher, but I don't have enough data to confirm that. When your speed is lower than your enemies speed, they can crit you, but you still have a 10% chance to crit hit your opponent. You could technically neglect speed if you want to focus on raising other stats and still have a small chance to crit.

I see, so a little extra HP for insurance, I suppose 8k SPD is a tad overkill, thanks for the info!

It depends on what you want out of your build! My main pet has 8251 speed so that he can out speed any opponent with boosting weapons. Most of my other pets will have a lot less than that and compensate with having other stats higher.

For my main battle pet, I feel like a hard hitting build fits her very well, despite not being close to the stats, I was thinking of something like this:

HP: 10000 STR: 12000 DEF: 5000 SPD: 8000

I do have another battle pet in the works who'll be more balanced stat wise.

That is a good build. The health might give you a little problem with opponents like Possessed Maleria and Paramnesia Recycle Beast that have much higher speed and hit hard

Yeah, was told the same thing by another user, but I'm hoping that can be sorted via appropriate weapons, healers and scrolls. I've almost got all the high block weapons and a plethora of freezing scrolls.

Yeah it's tough because even the right weapons with some challengers don't block all damage and not all challengers can be frozen or have scrolls enabled. For the most part though, it will be fine

Thanks for the heads up, I could always tinker around with it, but it should be fine as you say, thanks again!
