That's awesome you make all of those candies! Do they taste like the original ones? I might need a link so I can go look. :-D I know this isn't very healthy but I put extra salt on things and Liz will eat it if it's salty enough. For years I didn't use much salt but am learning to use more and I have to admit putting a little salty bagel seasoning on a salad makes it really tasty! So my point is maybe the pork chop was salty so she was willing to eat it? :-) Oh yeah the onions might stink it up. And I've read when people dehydrate onions it even stinks up their house really bad. But the other foods after the onions would probably absorb any smells or tastes. Of course I know zero about a freeze dryer. Except they're really expensive!!! :-)

Truthfully, I think they like coconuts the best. I get that about the clothes and I'm super careful when I give mine clothes to give them something I can stand seeing for a while. LOL :-P

- there is no hope! my youngest turned 18 and i did not detect any appreciable increase in brain activity. in fact, i think i lost one of the two braincells i had left! something about him needing it more than i did and a vague feeling of thanks... 😂

- you would be so proud of me! i did not cry at all! not once. not even a teenie bit. the day went without a hitch. i'm very happy with how everything turned out. 😀

- i went to have hubby add the chorus of dragons to my book list and it turns out i already own the first 2 books of the series. o.O i have no idea if i read it and disliked it and didn't continue or if i bought it and forgot about it. either way, i don't remember anything about it so i'll be listening to it once i finish the series i'm on. :D

I almost think the titles are so generic sounding that it's easy to forget!

yeah! Candies are a lot of fun :D And nothing like the original versions LOL! Chewy candies go to crunchy/hard crunch (like skittles, starbursts, tootsies etc) Salt water taffy goes from like chewy to melt in mouth (same with bit o honey). Fruit roll ups become crunchy...and all candies/any items you freeze dry since the water is removed/any moisture the flavor is like INTENSE on some things LOL :D Still yummy though! You can message me anytime for a link if you are curious LOL! :) It is fun to try at least once <3 And sometimes you have to work with what your kids will eat LOL! Whether that is salt or extra ranch or bbq or whatever....mine will straight up eat sour cream and ask for a bowl of it 0.o kids are WEIRD lol! And I'm not sure what made her go for the porkchop :P I think it might have been with the "ranch/bbq" she likes to mix? lol so like in an end of the world scenario I need major stock of both those items for said meats LOL!

Yeah I'm fairly certain the onions/garlic would super stinky up my machine lol :P Probably for a week or so LOL! The trick I think is to do the stinky stuff near the tail end of when you need to "change" out the oil so maybe 3-4 batches away....then do things like mashed taters/spaghetti/whatever will absorb some of that and compliment it LOL...then clean out the machine really good and if that doesn't work I will normally do cheap bread/put vinegar on the bread and run a load and that sucks up anything left to keep it smelling fresh LOL! And freeze driers basically are a really heavy machine/has a pump and depending on your size has 3-5 trays...you put your food on the trays, turn the machine on and then it runs for 24-48 hours drawing all the moisture on the food (which then your drum ends up covered in ice from the food) then you pull your food/bag in mylar/oxygen absorbers/heat seal and then defrost your machine/tilt it back and drain all the melting ice into a bucket and voila :P that's essentially it LOL!

well that is MOST unfortunate! So what you are saying is we'll lose EVEN more once they turn 18 but we'll feel their gratefulness in the background/humming so it will be worth it? haha :)

hmmm not sure where I would go....I'd probably find a rural area in Iowa but on the OTHER side of the state so we aren't so close to hubby's ex gags its getting to be a chore being this close and just bleh :P so since we like Iowa homeschool laws we'd probably do like south east iowa? that way it should be a wee bit warmer in winters and just make sure we have a fireplace LOL though if we had extra extra money I'd totally do an extra "house" or land in Tennessee somewhere cause the falls are SO gorgeous out there! And its a wee bit warmer :D And like a nice pickup truck (not new) but not like 100 million miles on it either LOL XD
