i actually really like 's idea (though i hope you won‘t do a stealth quit) - though i like seeing who donated the item, i feel like some users might prefer hiding their names when dumping items in there x

but showing names in general

I like seeing the names there but I would be totally ok with not having them there, especially if it helps with lag/stability

I prefer seeing the usernames who donated as well, if it doesn’t impact the site too greatly!

Keeping the maximum number of items showing/accessible at 2000 but the remainder of donated items in a queue of sorts seems to be a great workaround of the huge numbers lag. I’m very pleased with this fix! Great job staff!

I like the usernames for many reasons most of which you def already listed haha.

I would like to speak to the coding features without taking them down. I noticed while it was being changed that as the code was being recompiled it automatically gets ran live with the site. I personally recognize changes being made and understand the process. I noticed at one point the filepath broke which broke the page for like a half a second that's totally fine, however I feel for a normal maybe not quite as tech-savvy user might try to use a feature that is being adjusted without notice and see that it isn't working, generally one of 2 things happens; User gets frustrated and makes a thread User gets frustrated and complains in discord

Even if it's only a few seconds. Some users will rapid refresh or spam fields keep flooding requests that could be easily avoided. We see the request flood/spam a lot in the directory, I know because I've seen phrases like "I keep hitting enter" in discord.

Either way, what I'm saying is that compiling straight to live isn't a problem but if work is being done on a feature that has a blackout chance or even if the appearance changes it might be worth mentioning to users just in case to avoid some anger no one really wants to deal with.

[edit] Making an edit to say that the idea of being allowed to donate anon is fantastic and one of those ideas we'd probably only get from asking the users for suggestions <3

Yes. The answer is still yes.

I do like seeing the total number of items listed on the page for how many items are in the donation center. I also like the idea of anonymously donating to the DC, if one prefers.

I agree with - whether or not we understand exactly how items are added to the DC on the backend, I think the randomness of everybody seeing a different set of items was a good thing. Since I can't see what anyone else does in the DC - is that still the case with these updates? I think it was a great feature of the DC.

Also I do prefer seeing usernames! I don't feel qualified to answer "do you want programmer time and energy spent on that" since I don't have a good sense of the other possibilities that programmer time/energy would be spent on. Keith seems to suggest that it's not worth the time, and if that's the case, I like 's suggestion of creating a "thank your DC donator" forum along the lines of "thank your anon gifter." But honestly if there were a list of programmer priorities/projects that we could vote on/rank, I would happily do that to provide my two cents.

i also prefer to see the usernames, if its not too much trouble. like mentioned, it feels sorta...dead without them, like the items popped out of nowhere but maybe its just because im not used to the new layout

I can see the usernames being kept and being abused, now that attention's been drawn to it. I'd prefer to see them go, instead of "X got Y and donated it, don't do anything more for them."

And as a player who's been singled out like that before...

Ok. I really want to understand the process then.

As an Example:

  1. Donate 1k Hearts from my inventory,
  2. Then I do a new donation of 1k Trinkets from my inventory,
  3. And finally I do a new donation of 1k coins from my inventory.

Are you saying that the coins will still be mixed in with the 2k items in the DC that are loaded for users?

I just want to make sure I'm understanding. :)

I love the keeping of usernames, but I'm also in the mindset of having an option to not have your name on items you donate if you want to keep the anonymity. I've always liked seeing who donates, but I also understand that it may make some people anxious to have their name out there, especially if they donate really expensive items.

I prefer usernames! I like to say thank you to the one who donate and send b.day greetings.

And the 2000 Parts are ok, if a account is delete and all from Shops or Invite are free for donation you can delete them. We are only gamer, we should pay for the things we like, not get free. In all games is so that you have to pay to your fun, why this site should be better ? and is not important that the owner of all the stuff have played maybe many Years for all that. If it is good for the server, is good for you. In the last Years you took few things away witch are good for us, or help to play, make such things easier, this is only one step more. ( ironie on )

As someone who picks things up from the DC regularly, I like seeing the donator's UN. I like being able to say "thanks", "happy birthday" or "best of luck" to users doing mass donations, birthday donations or quit-donations.

On the other hand, as a donor I don't mind my UN not showing up. Sure, it's nice when a user or two takes the time to send me a thanks comment but I'd be just as happy donating without the possibility of that.

So all things considered, if it's a big resource investment to add UNs back to the DC, I'm fine with them being left off.

Excellent start to getting rid of the lag in the DC! <3 Thank you for that. I love having the usernames there so, as was stated in the announcement, if someone has a birthday, we can see that and send em a little something! Also, and this might just be my editor/writer (complete with English degree) side talking, but if you are going to have the last row just have two items, could they be right underneath the second and third items of the previous row? In other words, centering that row so it looks a bit neater? Just a suggestion, really.
