That buried car story! It's so good, it's one of my favorites. When I was really sick one time, with a high fever and feeling horrible, partner read me that story. It distracted me from the discomfort and helped a lot, so I have vivid Literal "fever dream" feeling about it.

From a Buick 8 is a book about a weird car (the one from Hearts in Atlantis first section possibly, about the Low Men in Yellow Coats??) where "alien" things come out of its trunk intermittently, and the police station nearby where they deal with the consequences.

I read Salem's Lot very long ago (in the 90s I think) and don't remember it exactly well, but I think I remember there being kids in it whose storyline reminded me a bit of the storyline of the kids in Tommyknockers, how they were isolated and parallel to the main story etc?

- ok, so my memory isn't as toasted as i thought. that's a relief! 😀 i don't remember the kid's storyline from tommyknockers. i only remember the adult /main one.to be honest, the kid's storyline in 'salem's lot mirrors the kid's storyline in stand by me and "it". king likes to put kids in horrifying situations, probably because of the juxtaposition of their innocence and the absense of innocence in the monsters. i loved the buried car story too. probably not for the same reasons you do, though. ;) i liked it because the whole idea was ingenious and i wondered if someone could get away with it irl. i don't think i've ever read the buick 8 story. i remember bits about the car from hearts in atlantis but that's it. i started the dark tower series but never finished it. i've always meant to but other books just kept leaping into my hands. now, it's been so long i'll have to start from the beginning. i do remember the alternate realities. it is possible that those i deemed aliens could have come from there. it seems i'm in for a massive king reread. 😀

I can't really guess which ones you'll like more! so I can't recommend. But if one isn't working for you, just move on, because there's so many 😆

we have been giving her water by putting it in with her food at every feeding, and only giving her canned food (rather than kibble). Which is probably why the bad teeth, kibble is better for their teeth... but it's easier to deal with bad teeth than dehydration.

- i like the ones that scare the pants off me, mainly the ones i mentioned: it, the stand, 'salem's lot, pet semetary,the shining, misery,the green mile (not so scary),rita hayworth and the shawshank redemption(not scary),nightshift, the mist,cujo,different seasons (not so scary),christine,thinner (not so scary),skeleton crew (not so scary), four past midnight (not so scary),needful things (not so scary),delores claiborne (not so scary),rose madder (not so scary but i'm a sucker for haunted houses)... i decided to go to a complete list of king's books and went through it until i stopped seeing familiar titles. turns out that was about 2000. i believe the last king book iread that i liked was rose madder. up until rose madder i did read just about every king story available. there are a couple i didn't recognize but no one gets everything the first time round. ;) so, if it's not mentioned in the above list, i didn't like it. if it was published from 2000 on, it's a safe bet i didn't pick it up. phew! you've already helped me realize there are new king books i'll like and they're on my list. no more recommendations regarding king are necessary. :P i will need other book recommendations in the future though as you highlight an area of books i tend to avoid and i think i may like some of them. you haven't steered me wrong yet. 😀

- nope, we won't. instead of buying a washer/dryer we rented them from the landlord ($15 a month). so, all i have to do is call the office and they'll send maintenance around to fix it. easy peasy lemon squeezy! the men want pizza for dinner. looks like domino's is getting more of our money... 😂

I don't buy any scratchcards from user shops as well. I used to buy them as well, waiting 5 minutes, but after I put them all in my vault. So I have more than 1000 in my vault xD Now, I just need time to scratch tem!

- yeah, it's nice not having to worry about washer/dryer repairs. when we moved we had the choice of taking ours with or renting from the landlord. we chose to leave ours behind because they were old and on the verge of dying. so, we rent ones now that are much newer and no worries about anything. :D ❤ oh, the teeccinno showed up. the boy just needs to get it from the mailbox. i'll let you know tomorrow what i think. 😀 ❤

- i completely understand your feelings having gone (and still going through) through a lot of medical ... well, the best way to describe it is crap. a lot of medical crap where nothing seemed to go right - not with the doctors, the medicine, the treatments, or even my body's reaction to any/all of it. it's immensely frustrating and can drive one to distraction. my coping mechanism is to make fun of it all and try to laugh at it. sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. that's when i lose myself in a book or tv show binge. i'm here if you need someone to listen who's been through the medical grinder. hugs ❤
