Happy birthday ! Hope it's fab!
- Thank you for the gifts and birthday wishes!
- Thank you! Baby and I are doing fine, but I can tell he wants out. I've been spending all weekend trying to get some last-minute things prepped.
- Thank you for the birthday wishes!
- Thank you! Happy birthday to you too!
You are very welcome Hun hugs Glad to hear you and baby are doing good :D I am sure you are anxious to finally meet him <3 I updated my previous post. Sorry it took so long!
hugs Hubby and I have been on baby watch since Monday. He's at drill this weekend 2 hours away, so fingers crossed nothing happens until he's back home tomorrow night. No worries! I'll try to respond to it tomorrow. I've been sewing together burp cloths all since Friday night, but I need a break from it.
Oh deff fingers crossed for that!! The last few days are the hardest! Pretty soon you will be holding your sweet baby <3 Take your time! The post isn't going anywhere. I know it is a lot to respond to.
"You found a Veta Plover!" OMG it worked. Took a LOT of refreshing but I guess maybe this is fixed now?

Sorry, it's taken me a while to answer this. A couple weeks ago I started getting baby clothes sorted and prepped. Still need to wash pacifiers and bottles and get the bassinet upstairs.
I've been having such a hard time falling asleep at night lately. My belly gets tight and then my lower back starts to ache, so that keeps me awake. Then my ankle and hips start aching. I'm so ready to be able to sleep on my stomach again.
Some of the burp cloths at the store are so thin, too! I have 2 Gerber brand burp clothes and they're thin terry cloth material. Last night I finished sewing 30 burp cloths (mine will be double-sided flannel), now I just have to turn them inside out and do some extra stitching to prevent the layers from slipping.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
FIL never showed up that day because Chris told him to plan for a different day. We ended up running errands that morning and by the time we got home, Chris was too tired to try and hang drywall. FIL doesn't work on weekends and with the price of gas, it's too expensive for him to drive 'home' every weekend, so I'm pretty sure he just sits around at his apartment. That's terrible. Landlords should care enough to keep all apartments up to date, especially if there's ever a time when they decide to increase rent.
I've mostly got onesies and sleepers too, plus a few sleep sacks. I've had the hardest time finding newborn-sized pants second-hand. I finally have enough now, but Chris's grandmother questioned us on why we needed pants for a newborn because 'they'll always be in a blanket'. o.O the price of anything Disney-related is always high.
You also don't know how much the bottle was used and if it's just a few more uses away from breaking. To my knowledge, MIL did not try to send diapers home with Chris and she didn't bring any along when we saw her last weekend (instead she brought a homemade bassinet sheet that doesn't fit). Chris doesn't quite understand why I'm so bothered by the size 1 diapers sitting around or the fact that his parents might give us more.....dude, it's unnecessary crap taking up space in a basement that's a mess while it's getting redone facepalm. I helped my mom lay out the blocks for one of the quilts and it's already something I'll be proud to show off. My dad even picked out some of the designs to feature in about 10 of the blocks. It will be a while before the other quilt gets made because I need to find out if my mom still wants me to send pictures we already have or take new pictures. I have a feeling that MIL will be jealous of both of the quilts, though. It is nice to get things off the registry. We shared the link with family on Chris's side and only one person bought something off the list.
It is! Fingers crossed, Chris and I can have the same kind of luck. They sometimes do but the youngest BIL plays D&D with us and now that we play D&D on Sundays, he's able to play in person. We hosted D&D last Sunday (I regretted it as soon as people showed up). Two weeks prior, MIL texted and said she'd have to bring the dog, we said that's ok but she has to stay outside. MIL got passive-aggressive and said if the weather was bad, she'll have to stay home then....fine, not our problem she refuses to find other arrangements for the dog. Day of, BIL texted Chris at 10 am to let us know they were on the way but they were grabbing their own lunch. Chris was confused because we weren't going to start until 1 or 2 pm. Then his dad texted that he was on the way, so BIL must have told him he would be here early. Chris called him and told him we weren't starting until after lunch, so there was no food. FIL was going to come early anyway because grandkid would be there. So they showed up while I was still in the shower. FIL showed his creepy side by staying in the living room to watch the baby's diaper be changed and at one point just stared at the kid for a long time before BIL told him he could hold him. When MIL and youngest BIL showed up, they immediately had to have a little photoshoot with the youngest holding the grandkid. FIL also invited himself over to BIL/SIL's this weekend with his father so he could take a 4 generation photo...don't know why he couldn't wait to do that until our kid is born, but whatever. MIL also got mad at her husband later that evening because he wanted to hold the kid again and she was upset that he saw the kid the weekend before and she didn't. So, she made it obvious that she's going to keep track of how often other people see the grandkids. I hate hypocritical people too. You can't get upset at one kid for doing something and then not get upset at the other for doing the same thing.
I don't think I ever had a test in high school or college that let me use my notes, but I don't think it would have helped me much in college. I finally figured out a way to study that helped me retain the info, and that was for me to re-write only the important parts of my notes. That sounds like a nice online class. If we go the online route, I really hope they haven't all switched over to using Zoom. State testing is a pain in the rear and it's so stressful for SPED kids (at least at the school I worked at for a while).
Oh good, I hate the paper armbands. Some people have some really crazy MILs, mine's just annoying compared to the crazy ones. I technically have 2 weeks left until my due date, but I'm hoping the baby comes early. Chris will be starting a new job either the 28th or the 4th (depends on when babe makes his appearance), and he will have to go out of state during the week for training for multiple weeks. Ideally, I want Chris to be home for the first week before he has to be gone for so long, but I'm not looking forward to the exhaustion. The only reason Chris got a new job is because his boss at the previous one went off the deep end, started blaming employees for loss of work, only showed up at job sites to get money, and tried to get his employees to fight with each other. I'll most likely ask my mom to help because I know she'll actually help. MIL is going to get butthurt a lot in the next few months because I told Chris that I'll flat out tell her that her wants are not needs for us or the baby.
She totally used Chris's birthday as an attention grab for herself. She called Chris later that night to wish him a happy birthday but then immediately asked him if he was going to be deployed to Ukraine...like geez lady, let's think logically here...national guard isn't going to be the first to get sent over there and let's not ruin someone's birthday asking that.
Is there a point to fighting the gelatins? I know there's an achievement but I don't have the time or patience to sit and click 2000 times. :(
