Mine not enjoying my downtime, my stove isn't breathing correctly and has filled my house mit smoke. Bad enough the cold evening without the option of a warm fire.

All I wanted was a cup of coffee, it'll have to wait a while. I can't clean out my stove until morning.

Het, mine have a good ear for language. Mine know just enough to make some people think I'm more multilingual than I really am. I try to use the words correctly.

We do have loss on the ranch, but thankfully not as much as we had when the floods came a few years ago. That was devastating. We have built the cattle herds back up, and we do a lot of breeding throughout the year, so at least the numbers are back up. There is never a slow time on the ranch, at least for the ones who work it. lol There are ponds to check, ice to break up, so the herds can drink, there's fence to fix, barns to repair, heaters to install, and of course, fix when they break - hay to take out, and some of this hay is twenty miles apart from the next field, so it also takes time. And that's just for the cattle. We have over 20 different types of animals on the ranch, along with crops, orchards, etc., so there is never a dull moment. We are getting ready for a possible late Winter calving, since sometimes that happens. There is ALWAYS something going on here. :O WOW! What fun! hehehe

ny first language is German..started school here though. just READING all that is involved make me exhausted..I would my=uch rather do the suppers chuck wagon etc. for them all than any of theose jobe!! Maybe getting the hay out would be ok :)

Well, come on out anytime! You can help with the chuckwagon in the roundups! We still do two on our ranch, one in Spring, and one in Fall.

i hear you about the smartphone and bad habits! my son just traded down from a flip to a simple phone, it only has calls. That's it.

That sounds lovely! Yes, some of the guys have a beer, but most will drink water out there during the day, or a decaf beverage. Anything to stay hydrated, because it will be at least a week, and sometimes longer, before they are back to civilization. ;)

It'll be well received, after today's antics with my friend's Escalade. Mine replaced the fuel pump, and with a lot of help managed to reinstall the tank. Except for one detail, the job was a success. My friend need only give the vehicle a test drive, it runs but he needs to know how it performs.
