I agree with what people are saying above. It would be nice to know how many times I have currently beaten an opponent with the pet I'm about to battle it with. Because I might have fought that opponent months ago and forgot. That 10,000 HP might not be ten thousand any more--it might be well above my range to beat the opponent due to scaling. So an easier way to tell what the opponent's natural stats are AND what they'll be for the battling pet would be GREAT.
Personally, I don't care about these weapons, I just like to see anarchy!
Enjoy the game how you want to, whether that focuses on collecting, battling, or the social aspects. Just remember that it is a game. There are far more important things in the world than whether you have enough pixels to buy another pixel.

I appreciate the good that's been happening in this thread but my (and many others) question of why the ONLY investments that "must" be "protected" on the entirety of subeta is a select few users' weapon stashes would really like an answer. preferably without another derailing scapegoating custom wearables.

+1 more and more I'm just like... almost EVERYTHING else that could have arbitrarily become super rare due to users becoming inactive, things getting consumed, people keeping things in collections... gets released into holiday shops, the Hustler, the token shop, the Free Shop :)
Just rerelease the weapons! And release crazy new godlies not in a loot box! And let us win them. (the royal "us," I am not even a real battler lol)

I dont agree with the notion that the weapons are 'investments' being 'protected'.
From the perspective of monetary value, the rerelease have devalued them. 9 billion is a good deal for a godly when they were selling and trading for 12-16b for years, some more desirable ones going for 25b+
In terms of availability, these items are designed to be limited in the first place. They are not required for any battle progression and are meant to be long term goals for those dedicated in obtaining one. It is something for people to showcase their achievement - either earned through site events, grinding crystals, saving sp, etc. If the items are truly 'protected', they should have been retired without a rerelease.
Many people desire owning godlies for collections, wearable, battle, and so on. But just because people want them doesn't mean they must be made cheap, affordable, and widely accessible.
There's a rerelease of the godlies right now for sP. Someday it may get another for thousands of impossible tokens, or millions of humming crystals. If you truly desire owning a godly, then make it a goal and work towards it.
but if you have no way of knowing what the goal actually is (this time it was 9bil sP, what if next time it's 10mil wizard tokens or whatever) then you can't work toward it

I mean cranberry literally stated in the comments that that was the exact thing they were doing so...
The main one is that staff have specifically stated here in these comments that they did the re-release this way to protect the "investment" of people who already have godlies.

...to be clear, i don't agree with the whole lootbox thing. i don't know who that was supposed to please.
but this site is close to two decades old. the amount of active users isn't exactly growing every day. and i can't stand this attitude of "us vs. them" when it comes to hardcore battlers and the rest of the "casual" userbase. users have expressed they want to get into battling, they want to have the opportunity to experience the challenge of earning some of these items, and it's really the best move to say... no? sorry but you didn't do it soon enough so too bad? i have more fun knowing only a few users (how many are even still active?) have access to these items? why is the only way these items have value is if they're incredibly scarce and impossible to get anymore?
@ ghost There will never be a fair way to rerelease items that wont advantage some, while disadvantaging others. The goal should be the weapon. It is up to you on which avenue to acquire it and the time you are willing to spend / wait.. Maybe stockpile impossible token and hope one day you will have the advantage, go all in on a site event for hope of a godly tier prize, or save sp and buy it from another player.
@ Roadkill And I disagree.. which is my own opinion on the issue. I believe that to truly protect the effort and time investment people made towards these items that there never be a rerelease, and instead retired them for good. If anything, this rerelease benefits those who wish to acquire a godly the most. The biggest losers are ones who already owned godlies.
Edit: @ peachette
They're not retired though. They are literally available for purchase right now. I wish they were retired so staff can put effort on new items and improving system than trying to manage a rerelease.
[item2=Sandreaver]
was won by battling - : Genetech Lab Combination: Temple Guardians Axe Head + Cracked Satyr Blade Tip + Steele Shovel Notes: Strike the final blow to the Saheric Temple Guardian. Prize for being one of the top fighters against Saheric Temple Guardian! Achievement Prize: Life Is A Satyr, Defeat the Satyr of the Wilds 10 timesNot from a RS War and Not from any Reading Contest/Drive.
and that also probably means, that those 2 weapons, will never again see the light of day. :(
OR they might release them, for 4.5b each.
I am not a serious 'battler', my highest pet is only T8 (excitedly almost T9 though!), and to be honest my main motivation is just to be able to earn the rare/expensive plushie loot drops as that is my main collection focus here. So seeing many comments and posts from people that godlies aren't required for the top challengers, and that some weapons are actually better, thankfully means that I don't have to actually set my sights on trying to get one. But I also know what it's like to actually want some super expensive rare plushie. (I know they don't compare to the multi-bil pricetag, I'm just saying)
I think my biggest question is... why does it matter if a 'super ultra special' weapon costs less billions than it did before for someone else, when you (general you, no one specific) already have one, and it's a part of your main set? How often does a legit godly even get sold (not just a demi-godly, or other super rare)? Every so often there are price checks, but do they actually end up sold? Obviously it does happen, I know that, but for the most part it seems like once it's on someone's account.. what are the odds they are ever going to want to sell it since it's so super special/is such a big help/is such a status symbol/whatever motivation the person has for getting it in the first place?
Do most people buy godlies to keep, or with the intention to resell? I don't actually know. I think maybe I'm just used to plushies being locked once in your collection and resell not being an option, so I stopped caring a long time ago if I just spent X amount on a plush, only for it to be rereleased a week later or something and the 'value' drop like a rock, who cares? It doesn't bother me that someone else benefits from getting something cheaper, that I paid more for, because I wasn't going to resell it in the first place. I got mine, I don't care if it's easier for the next person to get theirs, it doesn't affect me and the one that I have already. Do people make a big expensive purchase to keep for themselves and then... actively check the market later in hopes that no one else got the same thing for less so the value of theirs doesn't go down? I don't think many people are in the business of godly weapons flipping? If anything I imagine they get passed down to their next battle pet being leveled up, presuming it ever leaves that person's main battling pet to begin with. So I guess the part about all this that confuses me when it comes to the people with godlies/the battle admins worrying about 'devaluing investments' or 'losing out' is.. what have you actually lost? You still have it and no one is taking it away.
(just an example) "But I paid 20bil for mine, and now the value is down to 9bil from the box" Okay, was it actually up for sale before this, or was it a main/essential part of your armory, and this is upset over hypothetical lost value? What does it matter if its "potential value" drops 5bil? 10bil? if that person wasn't going to sell it anyway?
@ kokoMO Was also only released to the top 10 damage dealers for that boss battle - died in hours with people complaining about catering for timezones. And, if I remember correctly, the challengers were also locked behind individual plot progression after a maze step.
It was also after this plot that demi-gods started to become mainstream - awarded more readily for battle events; expanding to top 75 or per tier. Sandreaver was also the last of the old 'godlies'. Some have called for it to be a demi-god with wider availability at the time given its the ice block competed with the WotP. Unfortunately, that didnt happen and the community eventually cemented it to the godly tier.
@ LoathsomeGargoyle That's why I said earlier that 9b is a good deal for a godly. Am I upset about the lost value? Yes. I bought a godly just before the rerelease, so it hit me way harder than many others. But I've already accepted the loss and look forward in trying to obtain a second godly given this rerelease opportunity. What I find ridiculous is people seemingly want an infinite supply at some magically price point that they could afford.
History tells us some wont be happy until things are free and served to them on a silver platter. Wrath of K and SoSS is in the antique shop for 3.75b. People still complain about that price today even when they were among the rarest and most desired 'godlies' originally released, with others arguing about the infinite supply killing interest and demand.
History also tells us that the wealthy will never willingly give up their wealth - it is up to the masses to take it from them! ;)

personally i'm banking on my hoard of virtual wealth in subeta weapons to fund my retirement, and put my kids through college, and that is why their perceived value must be protected,
hey does anyone know if i can pay my mortgage with a kwand
the new battle stuff in the works is actually a conversion of godlies to NFTs

This is not really so much a complaint (as it's been to my benefit) but more a concern for a sustainable site. The rate of sP to CSC has dropped massively and I'm fairly certain it's in relation to these loot boxes. People who want to buy weapons are flooding the market with CSC at a fraction of the price it used to be. I assume the cost will eventually go back up once people stop flooding the market, but the economy can move pretty slowly on the site.
Just 2cents worth.. :) Peace! 🌈
Good if the CSC/SP ratio goes down. Actually very good.
We have something coming up that will make CSC balloon again in two months - Black Friday. People are going to buy the cheap CSC in anticipation. It's gonna inflate again - in two months from now, we will not talk about this dip again.
Was gonna say, I haven't seen CSC go down like this in ages. That's not a bad thing imo either.

My concern was more that it could potentially take away from sales of CSC in USD, which the site needs for support. When CSC gets inflated in an event like black Friday people have to buy more with money. But maybe the users buying CSC right now to sell will make up for that. My work is in maintaining user interactivity and sales, and they can be hard to predict with major spikes like this. Could be very good! Or bad, but hopefully not.
