Yeah, unless they come back I'm not sure that listing them would be worthwhile in a beginners guide, except in maybe a 'For rich beginners' section, if you feel inclined to have one (not necessary imo) I got my TA for 12.5Kcsc back in 2018; 1.5bil back then, and I figure they've gone up since
Cold blast scroll is the closest to a beginner freezer. If only because it's available pretty early on. Grind out 75 wins on daemon and mama mush, and you got yourself a solid freezing chance.
Unfortunately the weapons guide from long ago is defunct now, and while I agree with your sentiments about prices going nutty as a result of listing the highly recommended, I often hear too many complaints from people that struggle to get into battling that they have no idea what weapons or scrolls are best to use, that there are too many to choose from.
I don't think listing easy to obtain ones are a bad thing, like Cobalt Eternal is a fixed price, but if it does cause inflation on others, that is a trade-off in getting more people into battling then. I don't think sPs is an issue for some. Or else they'll quickly realize it's not a profit-making hobby really anyhow. xD
Yeah, availability is the big thing I'm aiming for in the recommendations. Something like Lucky or Morosbane are potential regular drops that i think are worth mentioning. I am going to mention that battling is often an experimentation so any scroll has potential use depending on what you need, just that for the long run, the highly recommended scrolls are ones you should aim for as staples.

I think it would be more beneficial to write a short guide on how to select weapons vs. coming up with "Recommended Weapon Sets by Tier" unless its specific to each challenger. The biggest frustration I see with new battlers is they go out and buy those "recomended weapons" (which inflate some "Budget items" in price from guides) not realizing they don't help them win at all and get frustrated. The number of people who still use a bunch of Shrieks against challengers that don't freeze is....a lot xD. People probably have something good enough they've collected from minor battling to get by without spending a bunch of sP.
I've always liked the idea of tooltips added to actual battles to help users see whats going on & hovers over the "Blessing / Curses" to help give a little structure to the chaos. Not sure if thats something you could help write and try to propose to the BA's. I'd think it shouldn't take too much "new" programming if its kept simple vs stealing what already exists (tooltip from the forum + item mouseover).
When I say miniscule, I mean truly miniscule. Like 3 weapons and 2 spells outside of staples to cross 5 Tiers. Then 3 more weapons and 2 spells for the next 5 Tiers. Then repeat for the pattern for last remaining Tiers or just blow it wide open and say from Tier 11 on use gods/god like weapons (a lot less weapons like that 12 years ago and Tiers weren't out yet but you get it for example). Tried this way back in the day and blew up the non-god battle weapons market by mistake. Opps.
There's a middle ground between that and here's a massive database with every weapon and spell on site. I was going for encouraging that you can find the sweet spot in-between.
I think someone has written that sort of guide before for weapons, but I don't remember. But, true, ultimately a weapon is only part of the equation. Your pet's stats are going to be the thing that matters for the long run, hence why training is mostly the focus.
And I don't know if there's anything that can be done more to speed up training. xD
I do understand what you mean, and agree. Perhaps it would be better for me to link to other guides that have been written? That was the problem we ran into with the weapons guide, it became more focused on the best weapons of each tier, and testing of new weapons made it difficult to determine if the new weapon was worth mentioning.
Curated a small list in section 3.1, lemme know if that's sufficient or needs more work, cause I'll admit, I'm not sure if i can figure out the sweet spot. xD I haven't started the 'making a scroll' aspect yet. Really, if everyone can look through the guide as a whole and help me fix what needs fixing, it would help.

I opened a Gelatin Concoction for the folks tracking.
That said, I have a ME already, so I&;m debating it&;s use. It&;s an achievement locked item, but I&;m too poor to only keep it for the overlay. 🤔
ME is the only thing that uses the concoction: = +
I personally already have an ME and MSH. No spare cores on hand (though some apparently are going out via box.) There's the soonTM Gelly war, so maybe more will enter circulation... The concoction is limited 1-per-account though, via achievement.
But also, after this hairbrain'd scheme, I wouldn't put it past the-powers-that-be to give out the box as a reward instead of a guaranteed core. lmao
because if it is the plan, i would just like to go ahead and quit battling now, because i hate loot boxes and i have garbage luck on a good day, so the odds are great that any box i won would be a waste anyway 🤡
Oh sorry to hear it's not a combo creation item for you. Isn't it a weapon on it's own? Are the stats useful for your smaller pets? Trying to find a silver lining.
Limit 1 Equipped
Infinite Use
Damage
fire damage 15 or 18 or 20
magma damage 15 or 18 or 20
Defense
light defense 8
heal 10% HP
Tier 9
I guess I do have a t9 right now, but this weapon is only "okay". My trident + Minotaur Knocker combo does more, with a better spread. :shrugging: I'm not super broken up about the concoction, I just can't use it just this second. But I can sit on it no problem.
lootboxes are trash game design and Subeta staff should know better because monthly collections intentionally did away with the mechanic for this reason. do not bring this mechanic back ever.

/sticks head in Welp, I took today and decided it was high time to spend some tomes lying in my vault (and 900k exp) to finally cap my pet. ^_^ Feltish
congrats! Hopefully soon there will be boppers to punch so you can take Feltish for a bit of a spin!
as someone who is confused by the weapon/scroll choices, I would love a guide that tells me which weapons/scrolls are needed to beat an opponent, from the most expensive to the least that will still do the job. is there a guide like that already? or is that just too much to put together? shrug
I have bought weapons only to be frustrated in not knowing how to use them :/ Still learning
Thank you! ^_^
Ooh, I hadn't even thought of that! I will now doubly look forward to the holiday season. :D
Ugh! Should have known better - I don't do well with chance boxes, so I got an item I already had: .
