another friend of mine here is experiencing the same thing in Canada. She never knows from day to day if they have to evacuate, its been like that or over a week for her and her community. I have seen the devastation of fire, my Dad had fire on is mountain property years ago. Keep safe, and have everything you need like essentials. But also all paper work like property deed, insurance for house and vehicles. Have essentials for your pets plus cages, if possible easier to move them when their frighten.

Luckily I've taught my kitties to associate their carriers with fun "outs" and walkies on their harnesses, so that's not a problem. Essential documents are in a fire-proof safe below ground level. Everything else irreplaceable that we don't use daily, is already loaded in the truck, and the rest is positioned for easy grab and go. The "officials" keep telling us there's nothing to worry about, that the basin is safe..., but I notice they've cleared the roadwork from all the viable exits from the South Shore.... All two of them.

Watch google earth to see if you can get close and see where the fires are, not sure that site can do it. But there has to be some satellite sight can let you see where the fires are, and escape routes are clear. Fires can turn on a dime. Cool trained kitties with harness and cages. Sounds like you are very well prepared.

Thank you for the gifts and the advice for yesterday :) My husband woke up in a mood since my dad had started working around the house outside, cutting back bushes and such and my husband didn't like the way he was doing it. So he was upset and we tried talking about it before he went to work and apparently I didn't "care" how he felt at the end of it all. I wasn't in a mood to do much after that, so yesterday wasn't the best, but it was better in the evening. He came home in a better mood and thanked my dad for how the bushes and hedges looked.

Today in the news it was said that the country would provide 30 million for those affected by the flood disaster in Germany. Two weeks ago there was a donation gala where many celebrities helped and you could also send money by phone. that evening and the next day more than 71 million came together. Where has all the money gone? I also helped via SMS, but there was only a standard thank you, no information about where the money is going. It annoys me that so much has come together and politics now pretend that only they help. The people there who have lost everything are alone. nobody is there and helps. There are only a few private people who have set out, partly from non-profit organizations.

I find it shameful that people are always asked to donate in the event of a disaster and then the money somehow disappears. There is never any information about what was done with it. Why are you showing us the bad pictures? just so we say; oh god how awful and then grab your wallet and then nothing more? How can you just leave the people who need help so much alone? You really don't know where to be ashamed of

I am waiting until about 2:45 am subeta time. There is a 12 hour waiting period between each of your purchases from the token shop. So what I do is set a timer on my mobile or even your microwave, so I wont forget.

wow my body really LIVED your morning tension...i HATE that stress especially with father an d husband mix. It is fuked up that we should be so "maliable" to their emotions all the time. I wish i more often just said straight out n firmly what i want or need help with ..but somehow i dont. :? so long as they are just practice ones...still that they need to test them means you regularly get troubled with tornadoes then?yikes hiya will give it listen here..thanks for thinking of me will go look n see if there is something there left for me at the TS

I have about two hours to a purchase, I may be able to.

Oh yeah! A good monotonous hour long tune be an excellent background song. The next tune is about the same length, with more complexity added.

I don't know about 'regularly'.. Kinda like... Florida is likely to have a hurricane every year, or California is likely to have a fire, or certain states in the north of US are likely to have blizzards... They are not guaranteed, but they have a higher chance of happening there than elsewhere. Where I live is a city that is big enough that the ...heat bubble (?) of the city generally sort of turns away likely tornados, but they do come very close and occasionally (say once in Years) actually hit the inner part of the city. It's usually places nearby that get hit, but they are close enough that someone living in my city could know someone from that area. Let's just say.. 'yaay Oklahoma'

[It can sound scary to some, but this is where I grew up so I'm closer to the culture of 'ooh the sirens are going off! Where's the tornado so we can see what kind it is! It's miles away? Well let's watch the storm chasers cameras on the news!' ^_^" It's second nature here that we should know where to go if we think a tornado is a danger to us though. Though, I'll admit that might just be my family as I grew up watching the news whenever the weather was bad. It can be scary to watch, and I don't wish a tornado upon Anyone. But I do watch in awe the power of nature.
...That said, I cannot Stand hurricanes, tsunamis, or to certain extents blizzards. A tornado is pointed and goes in certain directions. Those others are just all-encompassing and scary to me.]

Oh so your an Oakie! My hubby worked in Lawton,OK, his military/ civilian job moved there for 5 years. I really loved the southern culture, and for a northern who hasnt been up north to live for years. I felt like I came home, I was raised in a small farm community in Western part of Montana. Living in a big city is killing me, no sense of humor that I can appreciate like wickedly dry and sassy, and people can be so unfriendly.

Yeah, we moved here back in the mid-90's for my dad's job. (I can't remember at the moment whether it was the military one or civilian. I was like, 7 years old.) As for big city life, I'm pretty sure my city's not considered "big city", but I also feel like I'm considered a "city girl" sometimes. (though I like to think I was raised enough in both worlds to disguise myself..) Wow! Montana! :) I've never been there (though I have been to nearby states). One of my sisters has always thought it would be nice to live there.
I like to think it's an Okie thing to be friendly. (though I know we are not all like that. That would be impossible..) We joke about multiple people coming to a four way stop sign (like in a neighborhood), and yeah there's "rules" about who goes first by law, but Every Time there's a back n' forth of 'you go' 'no it's alright, you go' 'no, I insist, you should go' until someone gives in. lol Perhaps you just haven't met the right people in your city yet? They can't All have no sense of good humor. (I'm mentally hopeful here, but I understand it can depend on the city..)

looks at my writing .......please forgive my incessant ramblings. I'm running on low fuel (food and sleep) and my brain kinda... threw it all out there.. -_-"

aww I love puppies, when they are so playful and then kittens chasing each other. Never ending cute! I know your busy all day until you sleep, I had many days like that. Well I have tried disguising myself, but country comes out in conversation when I cant explain myself better and go with what works. My hubby is a city kid, lucky for him. I am country enough I saved him from a jumping turd. He was out in the back yard, he whispers in the window to me "come here quick." Tells me, I think a neighbor dog went the bathroom in the yard. Because that was the only answer he could explain what it was. He pointed out where it was, and dang if the turd didnt jump. So my wisecracking mouth says, when is the last time you seen a turd jump? Then he got a sheepish look on his face. I told him, that is a frog.

I have visited Montana, but havent lived there since 1981. I dont know fun, 4 months of warm weather and then rest of the months getting frost on your pumpkin. But I do miss the mountains, these city people here have a bunch of hills they call mountains. I just laugh at them, they are easily fooled.

Yes everyone is so much more friendlier in OK than here, yes there are friendly people but few and far between. Example I am at the post office, this old guy had the driest sense of humor and I was trying to be the polite girl my Mom raised and not listen to another person's conversation. I was dying inside, and trying not to grin from ear to ear, but was losing the battle. Well, this old gent turns around and wondering why it was like a graveyard full of mourners and you could hear the crickets chirp. He happen to glance at me, and recognized that I was trying to be the polite person my mother raised and was losing the battle. He said, your the only one that gets me here dont you. I said, yes and your killing me with all your dry humor. We had a good laugh at the expense of the sober sides city folks.

We have a military base here, so that helps freshen up the people here regularly.

"looks at my writing .......please forgive my incessant ramblings." Ummm did you just read through my ramblings. Raises my hand fellow rambler
