When I collect my Charger after my license card arrived, I'll get my last major fix for building like crazy. However most things of the other activities have been delayed in favor of my responsibilities. In my restlessness I find sitting for more than 30 minutes something above aggravating.

I've found that there's no substitute for genuine real life friends. They just come car less often, in my case twice since turn of century.

Good morning!! Hope everyone is doing well today. I have some anxiety happening but am okay. :3 My new sketchbook arrived yesterday so I've been drawing A LOT! I spent like five or six hours yesterday working on things here and there. It was so much fun. I drew a ton of mushroom houses because I love them and they're easy for me to draw right now, and the movements feel good to my wrist. Gonna draw more today too!

Really? Do you have plans in mind for your buildings? Is it just the dragon or are there other plans?

I've only two, the dragon, and another idea for a castle ruin. In either case the models would be the closing, maybe not a magnum opus. I think I'm close to the stage in life where I may not be able to spare the time to indulge in recreation. I want to see what my experience can wrench out.

Good to hear about your enthusiasm in drawing, I should make time to explore my experiment, so far only one sketch has been made.

I do agree but making friends is a very hard process at times. Guess we will both have to get another century.

Show some to me?! ❤ We could do an art trade if you'd like.

Are your Lego projects ones that take a lot of time? I'm sorry if you already said, sometimes I can be really forgetful. D: The castle ruin idea sounds like it would be very pretty, though. Subeta has a background with a castle ruin in it that I love a lot, it's just lovely. I hope that if that is the case and you're not able to spend time on those things, that one day if you have more time they'll still be there for you to enjoy. :3

Thank you so much, that's really kind! I am very very happy. I had a bit of a rough time for a few really long years but recently I've started to get better, and I think that drawing is going to help a lot. I'm really excited to have picked it up again. I just want to draw all the time these last few days! It makes me happy!

What would you sketch if you made another one? :3

Absolutely!! ♥ I sent you some pics on discord. :D I'm really awful at figures but human figures are what I'm most interested in drawing right now and I've been watching a few tutorials and trying to replicate them but then adding my own touches. Right now I want to draw a rhino.

For now my goals are to make sketches to physically see the ideas that make up the Vioran character I have in mind. Some details I sticking with are perpetually folded wings and facial expressions with closed eyes. One or two pages worth of each could allow me to better tweak the entire model.

Yes, my Lego projects can take a long time, one figure had taken ten years to fully develop from it's crude origin to the final version.

[Edit] 5/8 This morning I finished the majority of the puzzle, all that is left would be the border, and after the gluing to frame. I believe this took two weeks, the next project is the Lego Dodge Charger.

Hey, just wanted to let you guys know that I was dainty and I namechanged to gothic! ^_^

I'm really glad that it's been nice for you so far! I hope you had an awesome weekend. If you have any questions about anything around here lemme know and I'd be happy to help as best as I can!

That sounds like it'll be really neat! I bet it'll feel nice to get those details down on paper as well. Wow, ten years though! That's kind of amazing to me. I think it's really admirable that you've had projects you've cared about so much that they lasted that long. I'd love to have something like that. Congrats on the puzzle progress too!

On top of taking my bloody time to build one, I also spent the same time saving pieces to make a counterpart model. I'll look at my imgur to see if the post of the two is still up.

I should finish the trim and border by day's end; so that if I can glue it, it'll set overnight. After framing I can use the remaining week to brush up on my other activities.

Oh no no please don&;t be sorry!! I&;m happy to hear from you and I like it when people have a lot to say and I definitely wouldn&;t consider it rambly at all ;w; And no worries, the thread will be here whenever you&;re ready and able! How are you doing these days? ^-^

It is quite sad!! And I&;m sorry that you&;ve been in the same position. But like others have said elsewhere I wanna be here til the end. xD Although I miss the old ones who have moved on I look forward to meeting new people too. If you ever want to chat I will be here and my comments and smail are always open too ♥

That is so cute that you&;ve managed to convince him to take it up. I totally agree, at a certain point you have to just do it! I was the same with things like watercolor and such, and there&;s still stuff I&;m putting off (embroidery and airdry clay sculpting for example). But you can&;t get better til you start! I bet it&;s so awesome to be able to watch him get better as he draws more. I&;m glad he has someone like you to encourage him to do it but to have patience because I did not have patience AT ALL. Honestly that&;s really inspiring to me! I am in the process right now of learning to do construction, which is not how I used to draw when I was younger, so sometimes it feels like I&;m learning from scratch instead of coming back to something I used to consider myself good at... But it&;s honestly been pretty fun! I have anxiety and it can be a good way to distract myself from bad things too. But I think I kind of struggle with the "it&;s okay if it&;s just for fun and isn&;t a serious thing", like with doodling too. I kind of do the same thing with my writing where I end up getting stuck because I feel like everything has to be good ;n; But it really sucks the fun out of it!

That&;s so cool that you draw on your ipad though! I&;ve never had one of those but I do have a Wacom tablet that I&;ve only used like once because I was very bad at it and it was very new territory for me XD Have you drawn on a tablet before? I think digital art is so beautiful u_u What do you like to draw? ;w; I totally agree about the frustrating part as well, I want to draw people and I&;m so bad at it but seeing everyone good at it in the tutorial makes me go <n<

sorry for the giant quote — its just easier for me to see what i’m replying to this way lol. thank you for all the kind words!! i’m sure it helps him a lot….i was/am really in the same boat as you for not having patience…it’s very recent that i have/am working on acquiring patience lmao, mostly due to a professor i had in college that really made me rethink the way art works. i was wondering what you meant by doing construction? i think i know what you mean — like constructing what you’re drawing/making, but i just wanna make sure!

yes, i have drawn on a tablet! i actually have had a few wacom tablets myself. i…..had a similar problem that every time i drew it didn’t look amazing so i never learned how to use my tablets very well. but digital art really is just a whole different medium that doesnt work the same way as physical drawing…no matter how much we want it to lol. i find myself constantly having to go “you can’t do this the same way you gotta think outside the box and learn the tools of the program” andhjgiuejsgijgire its sooo much, but like you said…digital art is so!!! pretty!!!

really, i mostly draw people. lots….and lots of people. its weird bc i’m not super good at people, but i have the funnest time drawing them. lately i’ve been trying to branch out by drawing pokémon. i also want to try to draw like furniture and architecture but that shit is honestly just as hard as people if not harder bc of perspective & shit.

also, i’m doing okay lately….school + some issues at work have me not doing the best with checking stuff (subeta, discord, messages in general, lol) how are you doing??/

I'm nearly finished, the last pieces are more difficult to find their places. Though I see that it may be that one piece is missing, something I noticed when the last hundred or so stylized elements became fewer. This won't be a problem, I'm just going to roll with it. Tomorrow I can begin digging out my sketch book and other drawing tools to try for some modeling of my primary character development.

I'll go ahead and show you the models, Vioran Rahi Zero, and Rahi Vioran Adna Zero is on the right.

No it's okay, I understand completely! Quote away ;w; I hope you're doing well. ♥

Ugh having patience can be so hard though! Honestly. xD I think it's really admirable that you've started to acquire it though, since it doesn't come so easily. It sounds like your professor was probably very wise in that case. And yep that's what I mean! It took me a while to find a name for what it was too but I've latched onto the word construction because now I'm like "okay this is how I look up wtf that all means" xD Recently I've tried the construction of a human figure and tbh <_< it's not in my nature to do, I usually just go at it, but I'm trying really hard to learn, because I think it'll go a long way toward helping me with symmetry and keeping things in proportion and stuff...

Oooh! That sounds so cool. Digital art looks so pretty, like there's just something about it. Almost all of the artists I follow on Insta are digital artists and I'm just like ;-; why can't I be like theeeeeem. I want to learn it one day but I think my physical drawings should probably come first... But it makes me happy to know someone else can relate to how I feel xD There's SOOO many tools and like so many techniques I bet and I couldn't even get my freaking hand to stop messing me up by resting on the tablet. :| (I did realize there are gloves to prevent that and got one but never used the tablet again and now it's stuffed in my closet...)

I think that having fun with your drawing is what matters soo so much! I bet it helps a lot. And I bet you're pretty good! But man I bet drawing Pokemon helps to branch out a ton since there's SO FREAKING MANY. xD And so many are based on actual animals. Maybe I should do that tbh, there have been a couple of times since I got my new sktchbook recently that I was like "what draw??" Furniture is a good one too. Perspective tho, that's gonna be a beast I bet... I read a fantasy novel earlier this week and there was this scene in it that involved a beautiful magic tree that had glowing flowers that emitted light, and there were trees around it that people lived in, and I want to draw a big lit up tree house soo bad... I think perspective is why I'm struggling with the "inside" parts.

Ah I hope the issues resolve soon ;-; I know we don't know each other super well but if you ever want to talk or rant I will listen ^-^ And I hope school is going well! Is it still going on even though it's summer? And I'm doing okay! I just came back from the dentist and I feel much better about an issue I was having that (as usual) my anxiety blew out of proportion. Now I'm having breakfast and lemonade 'cos I'm starving and so sleepy OTL

Oh a counterpart one? That's so cool! Do you do that often with your models? And did you finish your puzzle? :3 And dig out your sketchbook and stuff? Your models look amazing! Thank you so much for showing me.

I did finish, at 21:30 a few days ago. I couldn't glue it at the time, on account of a power outage. It now hangs in front of my desk.

I made two to reflect the kind of creature they are. The word Rahi is part of their names, in the Lego Bionicle world these creatures were always made in pairs.

I haven't done any sketches since finishing my puzzle, but I was able to add details to my sketchy story. My plan is to put more time after assembling my Lego Dodge Charger, starting Monday.

I won't be putting time today, in an hour I'm going to my friend's house to work on a car. He has today off, and asked I come to help.

Congrats on finishing!! I'm sorry about the power outage, I hope that has been resolved. But I'm so glad to know you were able to get it all finished up. I bet it looks beautiful!

Oh I remember Bioncles! I don't think I ever had any of my own but man for a while there I saw the commercials for them all the time. I get some nostalgia out of seeing about them now. ^_^ That's pretty cool that they were always made in pairs! Good luck with your charger in the meantime. :3 And with the car as well! I really hope that you guys get it all fixed up.

It's one of those day long tasks that are difficult only because we have to do it without proper tools. I'm pausing to wait for this guy to return to help inch the last step before bolting the part back in place. We removed the gas tank and rebuilt the fuel pump this time, but the sun is setting and working under darkness isn't recommendable.

I'm beat though, I just want to go home, shower, and loaf with the guys tonight. This work is tiring, frustrating and very dirty...so I value what little reward comes my way. Doing this as a hobby, I work for peanuts. Should I go professional, the money won't really matter to me.

[Edit] 6/12 And today I'm going to visit a friend's sister. Her SUV had some trouble that resulted in it's serpintine belt coming off. There isn't enough time today to make the repair, so we'll go and determine the necessary steps.

Good evening everyone! I've been a little quiet these last few days because for some reason I've been so sleepy. I think it's problems with my cpap machine? Idk. I just feel so tired all the time. And today I saw my family for the first time in a long time and it was really wonderful (except I got sunburnt and I got stung by a wasp in multiple places because it crawled up leg, wtf) and now I'm extra sleepy. I wanna just sleep for a LONG time!!! But I hope that everyone else is doing super well.

I don't know anything really about cars but I really admire you for being able to make sense of the parts and stuff to be able to work on them! How did it go determining the steps for the SUV? How are you? :3

I was mistaken on which component was causing the trouble. The root cause was the idler pulley, which after seeing the engine up close was plainly visible. The entire repair was done in under an hour. I was at first only working with a photo. But after my inspection the solution was clear. Another trouble spot is delayed until parts can be bought.

I've been trying with a cleanup of my room, searching for some misplaced things. My days are a simple routine with some side events to jostle some fun. If I play any game, it's usually a Pokémon game or a grain of progress on the others. This week I have some tasks to look into about work study and account closures. Not much to do otherwise.

Hello! I hope it's fine to chime because you all seem like very nice people. ^^ I have felt so tired lately myself. We had a barbecue with my family and some friends and I couldn't stop yawning. It was a little embarrassing even because I had so much trouble concentrating. I believe it is because I was socially exhausted to some extent, so I am trying to enjoy myself for a little while. I have been drawing a lot and had some fun concepts for my pets on here too! But I feel like currently I do have to fight my impostor syndrome a lot where I constantly question my skill and creativity. I have been trying to post more of my art everywhere around the internet and hope that I won't regret it haha. I hope you all are doing well and wish you loots of good vibes and wonderful with anything going on in your lives! o/

Oh!! So the repair is all done, except for that trouble spot? Good luck with your room cleanup by the way, that can be so hard. I am definitely in need of cleaning my room, 'cos it's been such a depression nest for a long time, but I keep putting it off because I dunno where to start. Pokemon games are so fun though! I've been meaning to replay Omega Ruby but my favorite is still Heart Gold/Soul Silver.

Totally fine! Hi, welcome!! It's nice to meet you! Honestly it makes a lot of sense if you were socially exhausted, and I hope that now you have the opportunity to rest up and recover! I'm glad you've been drawing a lot too! Is that what imposter syndrome is? I never quite understood it but that makes it make A LOT of sense to me actually. I've experienced something similar with something unrelated. But I hope that posting your art around is only successful for you! :3 And I hope you're doing well too!

Posting around has been reaaally successful, actually! My drawings are not for everyone, so it has been a bit difficult for me to get used to criticism and people simply not liking my art style. But I do love it and it gives me joy. Right now I am doing very well and will finally move back home after visiting my parents and helping them out where I could. I hope you are doing well! I'd love to get you all to know. o/
