Yeah, for the most part I think fanart should be a good thing. Obviously some I don't agree with and for small, more indie stuff can get a lot more rocky because some rely heavily on their sales, unlike Disney who owns 90% of stuff.

Smaller/Indie is totally different (and usually does offer way more in the way of merch). But big corporations will make the same amount on merch etc regardless of whether fan art is out there and it drives me crazy that they don't just treat it like free advertising.
