, well, we always had lots of leftovers (they shared with us) and it was 5trailers (@ least 2 people each) plus the owners (little old lady and man who owned it all)

Admittedly, around here in Virginia, the briskets don’t seem as big to me, but I haven’t had brisket here either.

And yah , like Truffula said, it’s just a different cut of meat. Any decent bbq, would work for me. Lol.

And YES, I especially like when I don’t know what I’m doing and the food turns out so yummy. :D

, what they say about some people, their genetic’ s Are what do it, about cilantro. I’ve tried. Really really tried with cilantro (Georgie loved it) But I just couldn’t eat it. I don’t seem to mine when there’s just a little bit, but when she would put a lot into a meal, I never could eat the food.

Celery though, I love. Especially when I’m having chicken. But I used to eat it, stuffed with tuna. That was my favorite. Forget the peanut butter. Tuna all the way. 😆

the only time i really like Celery is like if they put some tuna salad or chicken salad in it XD

I like celery sticks plain but only the inner ones, the outer ones have a less pleasant flavor/texture combination, I think. The inner ones are more tender. This works out because husband likes the bigger crunchier outer stalks more.

I also like cilantro... don't eat it often, but I get them to add it when I go to the fast-casual mexican restaurants that offer it. I don't cook with it much, I use regular parsley instead when cooking, or leave that ingredient/garnish out entirely.

Tuna salad can be really good, though! I do put celery (chopped finely) in my tuna salad, rather than tuna salad in my celery 😆 also I put finely chopped red onion, green onion, and carrots in. Plus mustard, mayonnaise, pepper, and sumac.

I LIVE for cilantro, if I have any mexican dish I always add like a bowl full of cilantro to the top of it. Most my soups I put cilantro in too XD tho I will say for some because of their dna it taste like soap. It doesn't for me which I am glad about cause I LOOOOOVE it XD

When I Goggled brisket it said it's a tough cut of meat unless cooked long and slow. I just had a bowl of my soup I made today and I garnished it with cilantro. Double yum!!!!!!!

So I made some lentil soup today, and of course I added turmeric. To me it tastes nothing like ginger but that might just be cause it was powdered and I only eat fresh ginger. I had to taste it again and at first I thought it had no taste then after a few seconds I tasted a slight bitter taste. It always makes foods taste better though. My soup is delicious and even passed the kid test. OMG she just just walked past me and said "I love the seaweed in it" ROTFL!! It's really kale. :-P I just added a bunch of stuff and didn't use a recipe. I used ground chicken and lentils and the usual soup stuff minus toms as they now upset my tum. UGH I put celery in my tuna salad too. :-) And what is sumac? Ya got me on that one!!

I made soup today and just added stuff and it turned out so good!! It is great when that happens!

Wasn't pozole. I had bought a lentil dry mix and I found some ground chicken in the freezer and added onion, garlic, some carrots I had dehydrated, a small can of chili peppers and some kale I had in the freezer. Added water and seasonings and Better than Bullion. It's so good!! :-) And Liz loved it too!

sumac is a tart berry (I guess similar to cranberry) that's available as a powdered spice. It's great for adding a lemon sort of note without adding liquid. A traditional ingredient of hummus too.

Next trip to the grocery store I will be looking for sumac! And funny enough I've been thinking I needed to make some humus. :-D

I figured I would have the flower you needed cause my inventory is full of flowers but I don't. I hope you're having a nice week-end!!

I just hate when I make a soup and turns out so good when I just threw a bunch of junk in the Instant Pot. LOL! But lentils are always amazing and I use them fairly often. And to think I used to not like them - my mom must of made some when I was younger and they weren't so good - I sure love the now though!!

Pretty sure you're right about how our parents made them - I'm sure my mom used brown (my least fav although I do love them) and possibly she didn't rinse them properly. I swear I can remember once telling someone "I love all food except lentils" :-D :-D :-D And now one of my favorite foods!! :-P

I have actually made her eat it now med rare and she is usually like oh wow that's not bad XDD but she will still ask for it in a restaurant like that and it pains me XDD

I don't think my grocery has sumac, yours might, I don't know though. I got mine either at the middle east bakery or online.

that's cool about cilantro! I do really enjoy it on Mexican food too :D

I used to order well done until I figured it out and now I cringe a little when others order well done. :-P

We have tons of different ethnic stores around where I live. It may even be at the store I mostly shop at because it's really big and diverse. On Google it says sumac has a light lemon taste and I can't eat too much lemon so it would be a good substitute. And it's already on my shopping list. :-)
