maybe get a second or third programmer for this?

By the time I get on to play each night (CST) this site is unplayable. I can get through the dailies I do, but I haven't had success with completing quests all week, and NO one from Subeta seems to want to acknowledge that everything is a mess. The lag was less problematic on the old server, didn't take ten minutes to do one quest.

Not sure that there is only 1 programmer.

It's true! Amber recently repeated it on the Subeta discord, I think I read it from Keith in the forums too but that's harder for me to find. So here's what Amber said:

I understand lots of people are frustrated but the way I understand it, this site mostly lives on the hopes of dreams of a small handful of people. (And a second programmer would be nice, but I doubt Subeta can afford it currently.) We simply cannot expect too much, especially in this in-between state where there are two separate sites. I think Subeta existing at all under these conditions is amazing, and if we stick it out together we can preserve this little internet place that feels like the old internet I was on as a kid :)

Can you please finally tell us, what's going on? 24/7 unplayable site is neither funny nor manageable. Everybody is waiting for some communication!

if goes away someone should be watching the site. someone who can fix problems.

It was terrible around noon, but, even though a couple of those errors came on with some lag prior to them, the site was mostly running pretty well again for me.

Right now the site's functionality is up and down like a yo-yo. It's varying wildly between working fine (maybe slightly laggy but nothing unbearable) and taking 5+ mins to load one page (if it loads at all and doesn't throw an error), the lag's been so bad that the site's becoming more and more unplayable. And the total lack of communication is..... really disheartening, to say the least.

Do we know for sure that Keith's on holiday right now? if so where was this stated... on Discord? :/ It's already very difficult keeping up with everything going on right now since everything's being posted in different threads, without having to go off-site too (I don't use Discord at all, so). If he IS off then that's totally understandable, I get that we've got a shoestring staff and of course RL comes first, but... I wish this could at least be clearly communicated to us. The site being so screwed-up right now is frustating enough but the frequent radio silence makes it worse, like... I'm hoping I'm explaining this properly, I'm bad at phrasing things. Like for me personally, I'm willing to put up with a lot, I KNOW there's just one programmer and etc etc, I totally understand and appreciate all of that! I get it, these things happen, whatever, but... it's a LOT easier to deal with this sort of stuff when we know what's going on, when it might be fixed, etc. I mean this has kinda been an ongoing problem for a while now (the poor communication) but at least the site was functional before, right now it's barely usable half of the time and just... gah.

If keith is away, that definitely should be communicated - on the news, in a staff post, with a banner,... so everybody knows, that IF things happen, they can only be fixed after "insert date here". Not keep us (the ones that don't decide to leave the site for good, because it's broken and obviously now nobody cares anymore) here completely in the dark with anger & frustration building up day by day!

Midnight was very bad. = 5 minutes for a page to load

Early morning was very bad. -"-

9.00 was very bad.

Now it's not working at all, it seems. 1 page load between 10 - 15 minutes or only error, without speeding up afterwards, but going back to 10-15 minutes or right into the next error.

I have no idea, how it could recover so well yesterday around 21.00

So this is "Day Whatever" in the ongoing saga of Lag/No Lag, Error/No Error, Works For A Bit/Just Totally Wonky. I have reached that stage of Monty Pythonesque humor (aka "No One Expects The Spanish Inquisition"), since I don't really know what to expect whenever I sign on each day.

Actually just finished my new daily visits for 03/29/26 in record time: 10 minutes (Personal Best ~ but no medal expected). ;)

Right afterwards, six Notifications popped up and when I checked, each one was reminding me that Ruffie Raffle was ready to go (which I had already completed). I am definitely getting that "Alice In Wonderland" vibe, without the cute white rabbit. LOL

Probably check in until next Friday. If Admin. communications/expectations regarding a solid timeframe/cohesive framework to resolve this bi-polar meltdown are clearly laid out in the NEWS, I may stretch my patience to its outer limits and stick around. But I'm thinking this may be the same odds as winning the lottery.

Same here lag has been so bad for the past two days that at the point the site crashes altogether and then I have to relaunch the site to get back in which takes a good amount of time to and then when I get back in the lag is still very well there and it is anywhere between 5 to 10 minutes before I can go anywhere on the site unless it crashes completely again. Don't get me wrong there has been times where the site has no problems for a bit and then right back to the lag/crash once again. Hopefully things will turn around very soon and the lag will be fixed permanentely. Well here's thinking and hoping anyway.

Not 100% sure how to express what is happening but I cannot access the kumos site at ALL. Even if I tried an incognito window, I can not even log in, because the page breaks and gives me a non-specific error (meaning, to boot, I can not even use legacy on incognito)

Been an issue for 5+hrs as of 5a EST.

bugs I've found so far: 1, I can't upload jpeg images on forums with the 'upload image' function, even though they are within the size limits of image uploads. 2, in slots, the gifted item will sometimes show the description of the previous gifted item. 3, in the events display page, it inaccuatly display that I have no events to display, even though I have 11, and I cant check out which events I have because I cant click the side bar + button under the two displayed events to see the other 9 events. When I refresh the page I got a page of error code that's embeded in the events display page, I took a screenshot but I cant upload it because of the 1st bug.

and when I tried to post this, i got black screens with error.
